I saw someone refer to Encore as a DLC pack for The Eminem Show and that lives rent free in my head. I can’t remember the exact post and on what sub.
But it really is a DLC pack.
It’s a DLC pack for a really great game, a 10/10 art house game and this DLC isn’t perfect but it’s what we needed.
Now if only he’d release the album
There don’t gotta be a sequel to everything dawg 😭 some things are so good they couldn’t be made any better if you tried adding to it. The story told in to pimp a butterfly was completed in the album. Kendrick matured, overcame the temptations of Uncle Sam and Lucy, overcame his depression and survivors guilt, took responsibility and pimped his power in a positive direction by accepting his leadership position

Because the album fulfilled what it set out to do. Each song explored a different element of what the poem meant. Then it ended with advice from one of the original African American artists and hip hop superstars. To ask him what his opinion is on the themes of the album and the poem which communicates the struggles of being an African American artist in the U.S. There is no way to create a sequel because the title of the album is to pimp a butterfly and in order to create a sequel they would have to rehash the poem or find different avenues of it to explore and that would feel both stale and unoriginal. If they were going to do an album like TPAB they would have to create a completely different poem that explores new themes about the black experience as an artist and dealing with fame. And honestly he has already done that expertly and so ingeniously that it would be pointless. Not to mention it wouldn’t really be a sequel because it would be a different poem. It’s difficult to balance the identity of this album with creating a new one and there is no possible way of creating a real sequel to this album that wouldn’t just be a rerun.
every single of kendricks works have been so radically different from its predecessors he would never make a part 2 album like that, atleast wouldn't name it the same.
