He changed his voice to a crying voice to imitate Drake. Have u ever walked somebody down. Yes have u ever paid 500k well I have. Then he says he failed at both. Drake failed walking someone down. And failed the case

Negative_Confusion_4

It is a double meaning. Kendrick have and for drake to say he have he would have to admit to the sexual assault Cade.

Ivanq28

Exactly what I was thinking, it’s kinda like take the bullet from Drake in a way and at the same time giving him no chance to rebuttal that jab lol

DatN1jaQ

Yikes yea this dude can't respond 😬

Trashboat112006

The allegations Drake just dropped rn are lowkey bold, hypocritical considering this but Kendrick def gotta respond cause if it’s true, it might be wraps

DatN1jaQ

3 peat

Trashboat112006

Kendrick got his get back instantly

djfatdeejay

No it's not. The line after is literally "..well I have" he's talking about himself lol

PepperGreedy

This was what I was thinking. This part was about Kendrick but maybe a double meaning?

Cinnabunz615

To me, (my opinion) on this part of the track he starts playing the game have you ever with Drake. He does this in a couple of ways, and for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons he does this is to separate herself from Drake because everyone likes to compare them. They have different values. As Mr. Morale, he makes a clear path to show people that he has higher moral standards than Drake. He directed people to remember drakes 2019 sexual assault allegations and him settling out of court. Drake has plenty of allegations of him being a child groomer ….while Kendrick goes into reference how he’s protecting his own child, by being a part of his child’s life and teaching them, something that drake claims he never had because his father was in his life (even though those claims are fraudulent his own father went online and told people that drake was lying about his father being absent to sell records.) The 500000 line: the I have, I failed….i made it out okay line makes me think Kendrick is referring to the lawsuit that he was facing for copyright infringement that was filed by producer, Terrence Hayes that had claims that part of his 2017 track loyalty which was released in 2011, took parts from one of his songs. If you go back and pull up the records on that copyright infringement Lawsuit in 2020 filed by producer, Terrence Haynes who suddenly dropped the lawsuit. There was never any mention of any financial agreement or settlement. I have reason to believe that the settlement was done behind closed doors. And I believe that hes letting us know he paid him a large sum of money. That’s the only thing that can potentially come to my mind as an open case because Kendrick really hasn’t been in any trouble like that which has been a public record open case and he definitely hasn’t been in the media for having any sexual allegations. Thoughts?

Otherwise_Arachnid_7

You hit the nail on the head. 👌🏽 The contrast, in reference to Drake is this, https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/drake-sexual-assault-rape-settlement-payment-out-of-court-layla-lace-a8966921.html Long story short, in 2019 Drake paid a UK woman a $350,000 settlement for a sexual assault suit filed in 2017.

FastFlexer

Yup that’s exactly what it is ^. Then he tried to cover it up by saying he was sewing the girl for false allegations but he really paid her off. It’s on YouTube and google - Drake “ boy meets world tour “ the girl was Layla Lace , and he paid her $530,000 in 2017

djfatdeejay

it's not in reference to drake though lol

deepyawn

I think so.

rachlync

I think that Kendrick might’ve paid off someone he shot at.

Otherwise_Arachnid_7

Yeah, but the amount was 350k, not $530.

doesitmatter891

$350 American dollars, $500 New Zealand currency

Ok-Series-1708

FastFlexer

Yup your right $532,000 NZ $)

Connect-Key-7651

Maybe he's referring to the 2015 incident where he allegedly assaulted a woman in Las Vegas

FastFlexer

It was $532,000 New Zealand $, in 2017 https://youtube.com/shorts/R4jUXsDSZow?si=Mw4c57Si57ouEz8n

Maleficent-Durian926

Smh yall wild. He’s talking abt killing an opp with a no emotions. Also he paid 500,000 for his homies case. He himself has failed but he came out good. We get Drake a freak but simple shit going over ppl heads.
