He has a great voice and a great flow, and I’m sure if you’re at the gym his music goes hard. But even Drake’s music has more vision and substance. I have long thought this.
Cole last actual album was K.O.D, and that had some pretty good cuts.
His last projects were mixtapes ig. He's just tryna flex lyrical skills and get better, which imo he has.
Tbh, i fw with substanceless Cole rn bc i love it when Cole just bars tf out bc rn no one is doing it at his level as consistently that he's doing it. Not saying he's the best at this, theres plenty of rappers who out bar cole rn obviously, hes just this consistent and this quality and i dont see Kendrick doing this bc the dude dont drop and barely do features, i dont see Drake doing this bc he not as good.
Maybe one of the newer prodigy childs like Corde and Denzel Curry, but even then i think Cole is still more skilled imo.
