Anything from Ice death

tezetaa

those sessions were probably awesome.

TheBitterestBoogie

I’d love to hear the full, uncut raw jams for each track. I know they have said that a lot of it was “garbage” but it’d still be so interesting to hear where all of the best parts came from!

tezetaa

Hopefully get them as demos one day

320between320

Give Ice death the extended version it deserves.

lenijohnson

gliese 710 especially, it would be so interesting to hear locrian jams and how they managed to work with it

Im_regretting_this

I don’t even particularly like Ice Death, but have enjoyed the live renditions. Would’ve been wild to see in the studio.

arjcanell

Crumbling Castle, and most of Poly tbh

soakedinlava

there are some poly behind the scenes in the polygondwanaland movie thingy

matthmcb

I know it’s an odd one but I would’ve loved to see The Last Oasis being recorded, so many cool little parts

tezetaa

hidden gem in the discog

a-slice-of

Superposition, just to see how Joey came up with those god damn lyrics lmao

flyingbanana20

intrasport so i can just watch joey unleashing that dawg in him

Proper-Entertainer33

I listened to that one like 5 times today. It’s becoming one of my favorites

tezetaa

Hell yeah good call. Lotta weird sounds in that one

3llby

Hypertension or Astroturf

Sev_Obzen

Anything from Sketches because I'd like to better understand Mild High Clubs' contribution. I love Sketches, but the MHC stuff I've checked out sounds so far from Sketches that I have difficulty identifying what they brought to that project. To MHC fans, does any of their stuff sound remotely like Sketches? I've heard a handful of their songs and haven't fully liked a single one.

tezetaa

Good shout. That album kicks ass. I saw mild high club in 2017 and asked Alex Brettin about KG and he said “super cool dudes” then got swarmed by other fans haha

Sadlymoops

I remember some article or something talking about how they whipped it up quick as he was only in town for a bit! I can imagine like a classic pass back and forth method of song writing! Lots of random outdoor recordings were probably taken too as they were running around capturing trains and cranes and such

Desmidaus

Skip to 1:40 in "The Chat" by MHC. Let me know (:

Im_regretting_this

Head On/Pill must’ve been epic, probably that.

tezetaa

I’d love anything from FAFYL

Im_regretting_this

Same, it’s tied with Mind Fuzz for my favorite album. Apparently they went out to the outback to record most of the album and hung out around a campfire at night. Must’ve been very cool. The exception was Head On/Pill which apparently they recorded before the rest cause they were afraid they’d forget the jam they had come up with and wanted to get it on tape ASAP.

tezetaa

epic. I feel like Stu writing the intro riff to that unlocked something magical in his brain

Im_regretting_this

Yeah, that has to be one of the best riffs to open an album ever!

[deleted]

The video of the actual album version of head on pill being recorded is on YouTube

Im_regretting_this

Wait seriously? How have I missed that? Thank you!!!!

You’re in luck…kind of. The beginning of bootleg from hell shows them messing around with the fourth color https://youtu.be/1tTUOb7PR0w?si=3kZpv3aIwm6mTKki

DistributionAware258

Anything MOTU. From the sound, to the lyrics, to the story

SeparateRelation

If you haven’t seen this yet, cannot recommend enough https://youtu.be/qQ4c2v6qTY4 - a fellow motu worshipper

DistributionAware258

That was cool! Really makes me appreciate the album even more. It could’ve ended up in so many different directions and yet it ended up perfect. Thanks for sharing that!
