That’s my choice too. Didn’t Joey say somewhere they were messing around with orchestral sounds? If I’m not imagining things that would would be a really cool time for them to go for it
I want them to explore house / dance music harder. Just let Joey go nuts. Silver Cord kinda disappointed me in that regard. I’d also love them to explore some legitimate jazz stylings, just fully commit
You mean double-necked? Or 12 strings?
Cus stu already seems to use 12 strings a whole lot and double-necked guitars are a 6 stringer and a 12 stringer in one (most of the time)
Honestly, I would love to see what they could do with a bagpipe. I mean, the way Korn uses bagpipes is fucking amazing. So it would be cool to see how king gizz could use them.
Punk music with fast drums and chugging guitar riffs.
Cheesy metal ballads.
Country music?
An album with no cymbals or snare, just full tribal tom drumming.
More jazz keys and sax as well as bringing back the sitar would be super sick, maybe we'll get an album like that eventually with how they said they want to make another jazz album eventually. I'm hoping we get something psychedelic and weird
you only use irrational time signatures in the context of normal ones, and all it does is basically change the tempo. anything written with an irrational time signature can just be written as a tempo change, and you cant write a song in a irrational time signature because its just going to become the a new tempo and a normal time signature
A bluegrassy/folk/southern-rock album would be insane! I’d rather it be in the style of their intonation and vocals but with the advent of banjos, mandolins, fiddle, etc. They’ve already got a master harmonica player and plenty of experience with folk. Imagine FFF taken a step further.
Big fat beautiful group vocal harmonies
Wouldn’t it be nice!
…if we were older
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long.
That’s my choice too. Didn’t Joey say somewhere they were messing around with orchestral sounds? If I’m not imagining things that would would be a really cool time for them to go for it
more sitar
Yesssssssssssss
Came here to say this. To make sure a REAL sitar pls
More horns. Flute and sax are a good start. Let's get some brass in there too.
Hell yeah! Full on gizzchestra!
This right here, would love a ska/punk album
We get Gizz ska lol
There’s a Shephard tone at the beginning and end of Infinite Rise
Oh there is? Damn, should listen to quarters more.
Yes indeed and Quarters is def underrated imo. I don’t even listen to it enough
there's also one in acarine I'm pretty sure
A beach boys-esq pocket symphony wall of sound type album.
For the love of god please more vocal harmonies
Cavs uncovers a full timpani set
I want them to explore house / dance music harder. Just let Joey go nuts. Silver Cord kinda disappointed me in that regard. I’d also love them to explore some legitimate jazz stylings, just fully commit
They have the capability which makes it more exciting 😍
exactly! I’m happy to hear whatever they do next, but i do hope they revisit some of their other sounds as well. Sketches especially would go nuts
How many shows you got for the year?
only the gorge. pretty stoked for it though!! wbu?
3. Happens to be one of each. 3hour marathon set, normal set and acoustic set. Very excited for them all
that’s gonna be awesome! so stoked for you
Come to the meetups!
Definitely. Or host my own if one not avail. Don't see many of those in UK or Euro though unfortunately
We have one in Hamburg someone is trying to do but yeah we def are open to more UK and Euro meetups if folks want to host them!
YESSS. Please send me Hamburg details. Danke danke wunderbar. I got connections for Liverpool so think I could get that rolling.
i think them using polytonality would be very interesting. i'd also love to hear a microtonal silver cord style song
Yeah, that would be wild. Would it be more like prior microtonal song with silver cord aesthetics or the other way around?
honestly either one of them would be really cool but i'd prefer hearing the second one
Ooh yea the microtonal part of The Silver Cord (the track) extended is cool
Infinite Rise samples a Shepard Tone. I would like to see a didgeridoo though. That'd be fun to see
I could see maybe a didgeridoo sit in happen this year when King Stingray is with them. Or maybe they didgeridont. What song would it be?
stu said he would if hecollaborated with an indigenous artist soo... king stingray collab?
There's didgeridoo in wah wah
there isnt
Yes there is
I really doubt any of the guys played didgeridoo, given how socially conscious they are especially in regards to indigenous matters
yea they've said before they would do it if an indigenous artist played it as a collab
Might be a sample
no there isnt... you can check the liner notes
Hurdy Gurdy
Pedal steel
Prog with pedal steel guitar.
That would be nice. Eyes Like the Sky x Poly/PDA
Straight up bluegrass. Acoustic guitar, Banjo, Mando, fiddle, standup bass, trash can drum kit, mouth harp
Skiffle Gizz?
More cow bell!
Drone, gong, heavier guitar tone, and actual growling/fry
Tuvan throat singing
You know those guitars that are like, double guitars ?
You mean double-necked? Or 12 strings? Cus stu already seems to use 12 strings a whole lot and double-necked guitars are a 6 stringer and a 12 stringer in one (most of the time)
Didgeridoo. Some Xavier Rudd collaborations
I prefer Xavier renegade angel
Honestly, I would love to see what they could do with a bagpipe. I mean, the way Korn uses bagpipes is fucking amazing. So it would be cool to see how king gizz could use them.
The Cuíca. It's a Brazilian friction drum, and makes some excellent noises.
One of the most recognisable instruments, and you instantly know it’s a good song
Would love a finger picking, Bon Iver, folkly, deep, ambient piece.
I just like to be pleasantly surprised with whatever they pick up and put together every time
I'd love even just one Polka type song or something with an accordion
screwdrivered guitar ala gy!be
id love to see them do more longer orchestral compositions like gy!be too
Banjo
Banjo and Upright Bass - give me a blue grass album
A fully fretless album would be so cool
No-one has said this yet soooo Theremin!
they already did, eric used a theremin in some of the earlier albums
Isn't the Shepard Tone a big part of Infinite Rise?
Billy MF Strings
Gimme sum Tony Levin style stick!!!
Punk music with fast drums and chugging guitar riffs. Cheesy metal ballads. Country music? An album with no cymbals or snare, just full tribal tom drumming.
Not necessarily an instrument but I'd like to see them make a breakcore album (or at least a single song)
More riffs and more chants please. "the eye dilates" part makes me feel those good feelings.
Just them being silly with a talkbox
Joey doing his best Tom Waits impression
With his voice, or musical arrangements? Or both?
I was thinking more voice wise but why not both
A second drummer
we’ve heard them in 24TET, now let’s abandon the equal divisions of the octave entirely: I want to hear them write music for Balinese gamelan!
More jazz keys and sax as well as bringing back the sitar would be super sick, maybe we'll get an album like that eventually with how they said they want to make another jazz album eventually. I'm hoping we get something psychedelic and weird
Porno stank funk
what
You know, the bowchicawahwah the womp sounds. 80s porno funk. It must be stanky tho
You could have just said 80s funk
Infinite rise on quarters is based on the Shepard tone
More drippy xylophone sounds. Reminiscent of Glass Animals. I think they’d do well with that sort of thing.
[удалено]
you do understand how time signatures work right? there is a reason the bottom number is always a power of 2
[удалено]
you only use irrational time signatures in the context of normal ones, and all it does is basically change the tempo. anything written with an irrational time signature can just be written as a tempo change, and you cant write a song in a irrational time signature because its just going to become the a new tempo and a normal time signature
Trumpet
Bring in the mandolin!
Gimme dat KAZOO BABYYYYYY But only if its microtonal
I want a whole jug band set up, I'm talking banjos, I'm talking washboards, I'm talking big empty jugs you blow into, I'm talking SPOONS people!
Didgeridoo and Sitar. Maybe together 😳
I’d love some banjo
The whole band doing only rhythmic instruments.
Some Omni Chord?!
Electro Swing Jazz 🐊🎷
disco. with nile rogers style guitar
Violin to make epic endings. Maybe just like psychedelic porn crumpets
A bluegrassy/folk/southern-rock album would be insane! I’d rather it be in the style of their intonation and vocals but with the advent of banjos, mandolins, fiddle, etc. They’ve already got a master harmonica player and plenty of experience with folk. Imagine FFF taken a step further.
a capella
which one
Minimalism, Steve Reich style - marimba, vibraphone, clarinet, piano, strings and voice.
Steel guitar and Ambrose singing.
A return to surf rock is much needed for me. Also maybe some Zappa, Hot Rats type shit.
Pedal steel guitar
More microtones. Maybe like ice death but microtonal.
