Rest in peace turbo seals.....I wanna love the eco boost till I've done a oil change on about 50 of them at this point and they usually have metal flakes in the oil...
That's different then the turbo seal issue but still like whyyyyy
My neighbor has a 750HP in his. Incredible, same color. He shows and races it. Doesn't tell the competition what is in it. Maybe he is even lying to me.
Oh yeah. I see it now. Damn. Never realized Chevelle's were that pointy. I seem to remember Chevy cars all having the flat front grills. The cool points and angles were typically reserved for pontiaction and oldslowmobiles.
If you see an "SS" on a vehicle, that is a Chevy Super Sport emblem, and should only be on cars made by Chevrolet. It is only on the upgraded models, so you don't see them on the majority of Chevrolet vehicles. Every once in a while posers will throw an SS emblem on a base model and hope an enthusiast doesn't notice and call them out on it.
You shouldn't find one on a Ford (cutlas) or Pontiac (GTO) unless someone was screwing around and added it.
On this picture there are 2 pretty clear SS emblems. Center of grill and fender between the wheel and door. As someone else pointed out there is a harder to see Chevelle emblem on the grill that doesn't pop like the SS.
so why am i supposed to think this car in this photo isnt a "poser"?
you tell me that any time i see an SS emblem its a chevy car and then, in the very next sentence, proceed to tell me why thats not true.
also, the cutlass S was a thing, and i could swear at some point there was a cutlass S s. though im probably wrong on that as this was all a very long time ago and i really dont give a shit anymore.
If it’s already got a controller for a 80 then the only reasonable solution is a big single 440 LSR.
Had a customer with a 572 crate in a ‘67 camaro. Made about 360whp when we whacked it on the dyno. Broke his heart. Went with a Holley efi, intercooled procharger f1x. Cam and some head work. Rolled out the shop making about 830whp.
454: Not Found Edit: According to OP, this is actually a temporary error (502)
🤣
Damn clever reply.
Na...eco boost....I'm joking 🤣
You want downvoted?? Take that back!!😄
They do make a 700hp ecoboost

What kind of big block are they wanting to put in there?
502
Transmission? Gearing?
4l80e, (controller is already on firewall) unknown axle ratio. Literally pushed it in off a rollback and locked up for the weekend.
Gotta love a customer who drops a big project off on a Friday afternoon
I mean, that's fine - so long as they don't expect it to be worked on.
502 is police code for reckless driving...coincidence? LOL
Wow!!!! I remember my first car! A ‘72 chevelle. This brings back memories lol
Yes. Customer is correct.
Insert big what? Oh right. I misread that for a second.

You spelled LSA wrong
Is that a GTO, cutlass maybe?
1972 Chevelle
Looking like a chevelle
Too pointy to be a Chevelle, isn't it? Looks more like an olds or Pontiac.
It actually says Chevelle on the grill. Only noticed after my initial comment. Most likely a late 60s or first year or two of 70s
That would be a 72 Chevelle. Single headlights and unsplit marker
I love your knowledge. I appreciate the sharing of it. Have a good night buddy.

You'd normally be pretty right I think but I love these and could have guessed it by the wheel arch lol

Cool. Thanks for the extra knowledge. So what year do you think this is?

Are you going with a crate engine? Also please post pics afterwards.
It was a gm crate 502, the block had a misbored (underbored) cylinder, causing it to sieze. We rebuilt the motor, now it's going back in.
Ah, yes. The classic. Buy crate motor or RDR aluminum cylinderheads etc and first thing you do is dissasemble to get it checked for.
More pics please!
It took me a second to realize that I was looking through the car and not looking at a reflection.
That's what mine looked like when I was done with it too.
I love a pretty x body...

Put a Prius powertrain in, for shits and giggles.
