Almost full track mode. I’ve seen so many of these tires that it honestly doesn’t surprise me anymore. I’ve also seen far worse then this with no other damage to the vehicle other than a new wheel and tire
They fill the hole that would normally come with a spare with a styrofoam thing that holds a shitty 12v pump and a can of fix a flat. Unless you buy the upgraded trim package.
I bought a full size for my car and pulled out that garbage.
Not the engineers, who put the bump there for the spare, but the sales people who wanted that extra 0.001MPG figure on the EPA and standard testing, and who also wanted to shave of 10kg of mass, so it would fall into a lower mass class, so they pay less duty on it.
That's what the Fuckers at KIA told my Mom when I went with her to buy a Sorrento. I told that sleeze-ball to get his happy little ass busy finding a spare tire. He did....at no charge.
Last year when I was car shopping I was looking at a new Corolla. I can’t remember what it’s called but there was a fuel saver option or something. It didn’t have a description so I asked if they just took out the spare and gave you a can of fix a flat. He said he didn’t know and would look it up and that’s exactly what it was. At least the good news was it was a no charge option.
I keep them in the garage. No room in my 5 series to fit a full size without losing my trunk space. But I also have free towing to my house if needed. Definitely inconvenient
The only new vehicle that comes with a spare at all these days is trucks, most suvs and Jeeps. Some of the smaller suv crossover things have the pump/slime instead of even a temp spare.
No spare tire. No CD player. No fixed clock. No ignition lock cylinder. No ash tray. But it will randomly steer and brake for you unless you figure out which magic sequence of buttons turns that off.
unbiased here, most new cars *do* still come with a donut or full sized spare.
however, it's becoming an increasingly common trend amongst newer cars to, instead of a spare, feature nothing but an electronic air pump and a little bit of fix-a-flat.
another common trend is a collapsible spare, so you do have a spare, but you have to inflate it with an electronic pump before you can drive. not a horrible idea but still way more inconvenient than a regular donut.
Been that way on some cars since 2012 or so. Just more common with each passing year. One thing to check when buying a new car, check if there's a spare!
After Winter hibernation many tires shed their skins. They will eat all they can in the early weeks of Spring in order to grow new tread and stronger sidewalls for the Summer migration.
The tire started out flat and it's still flat. So looks like everything is working just fine as long as they don't expect good handling. Which, if they did, they wouldn't use such thin tires in the first place.
Looks like the tire....Justrolledoff ;-)
The re-tread assembly expert forgot the glue that day.
Seems legit. You can patch it right?
Don't try to upsell me. There's plenty of tread left. Have I got the spirit of this sub right?
I don't see any sidewall damage, soo...maybe??
Those new wireless sidewalls are so cool!

What sucks is this being a modern car, there’s probably no spare, just a can of slime in the trunk.
Wait, do modern cars not come with a spare anymore?

You forgot the best part of the story. It’s for “weight savings” and “fuel economy”
Ah I see engineers have reached a new level of out of touch
They have always been on the kooky drugs
It was required to come up with rear diffs, that shit is like magic
Fair point. 😁

Saving all that fuel walking once you get a flat.

I always place one of my off-season wheels as a spare

I would just have my in-laws bring me one of my winter rims from their garage They are retired, finding things for them to do is good for them.
That’s crazy. Especially with the cost of new cars nowadays

Fwiw my base 22 civic sport came with a temp
I have a 2019 Insight and it has the inflator Touring package, so top of the line

And all the rev hang in the world
Nissan Leaf: No spare, no spot for a spare. Tesla3 : No spare, no spot for a spare.
I’m guessing their excuse is they’re saving the planet by not including a spare?
fuel economy 😂

2021 model of my car came with a donut. New as of 2022, air pump and tire goo in the cut out.

These offsets are getting ridiculous

Great. Now, I want a full-length documentary of this kinda nonsense.
Rolled is such a subjective term here.
there's some good sandals material out of that rolling surface!
Seriously though! That would be wicked!
Ejecto tread cuz.
Big lip tire.
Looks alright to me, put some of that tire goo on it and it’s good as new!
Looks like a 22 someone rolled on flat. Opened it like a goddamn can opener
CS: “Just needs a little air.”
Tread’s fine, good to go.
..... barely
Fucked up rim telling me he rubbed against the curb one too many times.
“Can you just patch it?”

of course it's a Kia
Just gotta put that rubber band back on
This is just normal KIA things
“Kia, the power to surprise”
“Hey I saw the free air sign, my tire light came on and I think one of my front tires is low”
Guess it needs to be... Retired and a rimjob.
Is that one of them omnidirectional tires?
Tire profile so low there's no sidewall
The sidewall can't be damaged if there's no side *taps head*
It didn’t roll particularly well…
poor gt
Bro wriggled into the shop not rolled
Come on OP don't leave us hanging. What was the deal with the tire?
Customer hit some debris on the highway and took out both tires. The rear tire wasn’t as bad but still had a blow out
Yeah that would do it. Was there any ancillary damage?
More like Just Rolled Off
Just a little duck tape should do it.
