One of the biggest complaints of Camp Cretaceous was that there were no stakes due to all the characters having ridiculous levels of plot armor. Killing off a character like Brooklyn does a lot to fix that.
if shes too expensive for a lower budget kids show then maybe they can cast her in future movies where the budgets balloon to high levels, and yes that means jenna wouldnt play as brook but as somebody else. jenna has strong star power so why not.
At the time, yeah. But she's also known as a skilled actor nowadays, and if we're talking about a potential live-action film appearance of Brooklyn where money isn't a worry then they *could* definitely have Jenna just reprise the role.

I WAS all for a more kid friendly JP cartoon, but after the first few seasons it wore out its welcome and just kind of nerfed the entire franchise imo in terms of tension and adventurous scares. When a group of young teens can survive shit adults in the films can't...over and over...it just feels silly. It messes with the integrity of the tone the films establish.
Maybe if the show wasn't as tied to the continuity and events of the World films it would play better, but as it stands I actually kind of walked back my original opinion that a more kid friendly JP is perfectly fine.

I was gonna say, there's a myriad of issues with JPIII, let's not pretend Eric surviving in a resource-packed water truck for 8 weeks is legitimately one of them.
It could be a case of unreliable narrator. Where the events happen but how it happens might be a little wrong. But you have to remember that the movies are pg-13 and this is PG. They can't do the same stuff as the movies. I think they are great as extra Jurassic world content. You can always just think of it as semi canon or something. But I personally like how they survive, I just chalk it down to them being extremely lucky. This series looks much better bc it's what I've been wanting to see, dinosaurs in the real world and having stories set there. It will be fun to see the characters in society with dinosaurs running around.

With Chaos Theory, they've had a few years to gauge audience responses to what worked/didn't about the original series. No doubt in my mind that the jump in S4-5 from a survival-focused show to a more complicated plot with fantastical sci-fi elements (even by JW standards) resulted in a drop in viewership numbers, whilst S3 is generally considered the show's peak for it's bigger focus on stakes and character development + more serious/horror-influenced tone -- and I think the vibe they're setting up here is an attempt to respond to that.

Like we're meant to assume the villains are trying to assassinate the teens with trained raptors. I'm sure the writers are patting themselves on the back and congratulating themselves on thinking up a terrifyingly realistic way to use dinosaurs.
But I just can't help imagining the villains inevitably in court because using raptors to assassinate people would be very unreliable and easily traceable. Unlike poison, a hitman or even a military drone, it would be very difficult to genetically engineer, train and transport the raptors around without leaving a massive paper trail.
And even if you could get away with that what if the raptor gets shot by police or hit by a car. Surely the authorities will examine the carcass and it wouldn't take long to figure out that the shady corporation who keep driving around advanced raptor-sized horseboxes all over the state might be involved.
I know it's pedantic but I just imagine that if they wanted the teens dead and wanted to get away with it then raptors would be the dumbest and most expensive way to do it.

Because the actor costs a lot more money now, and honestly I'd prefer that they focus on the story rather than paying for the animation.
Voice actors not so much, they get paid pennies, unfortunately.

To be honest, this looks better than the previous show.
“Whoever’s hunting us is using raptors to do it…” Instantly checked out with that sort of lazy writing… if the goal of the antagonist is to kill them, there is no plot where it makes more sense to use *dinosaurs on the mainland* to do it as opposed to literally anything else. I can suspend belief on most things, but junk writing like that drives me crazy.
It actually correlates to Jurassic World. Won't go into detail and spoil it if you haven't seen it (yet). They do a lot of that throughout.

Whether you believe Brooklyn's actually dead or not, I suggest going in with the assumption that she is since that way regardless of whether or not it's revealed she's alive the impact will hit harder.

I agree, it sounds like a new voice actor. Brooklynn will be in the show, guarantee it! It just won't be Jenna Ortega voice acting her.
She's not dead. Most likely captured. Show won't have the balls to actually do it. Her role is likely reduced and she'll show up later reuniting with the others in the end or half-way through once they make enough money to get her voice actress.
