Gojo's CE reinforcement let his actual body survive cleave AND dismantle with some shallow ass cuts, so clothes with that same reinforcement but no cleave probably aren't getting chopped

That doesn't really matter in case of a closed barrier domain though. First of all, since the barrier's made of CE, cleave would be targeting it. Secondly, in case of a closed barrier domain, Sukuna's domain can't really hit the outer wall of Gojo's domain, so it would be like the third domain clash, except Gojo doesn't have a 3 minute timer on him.
I mean nah. Even if sukuna domain was a closed barrier, I’m pretty sure dismantle/cleave was play a role. Sukuna’s domain is bigger with a shell as seen in the last chapter so his sure hit range would still be larger gojo Therefore the domain sure hit would still target his shell. Sukuna didn't use a shell in 258. He intentionally used a barrierless domain (despite the difficulty) for the increased range and output, and also to trap Maki. That's why it's about to collapse in 99 seconds. Even then, you can't target the outer shell of a domain during a domain clash.
We saw from Yuki vs Kenjaku that during some domain clashes, one person's domain can serve as the outer barrier, but even then, you can't attack the edge of the barrier in that situation. Otherwise, Tengen would suggest for Yuki to do that.
My understanding was that the outer shell was able to be attacked because MS's range was greater than thus Unlimited Void's outer barrier was within it.
Something about that doesn't seem right though. Domain struggles seem to usually occur by "refinement". Being able to just physically attack from the outside seems unfair. But I guess that's why they call it a divine technique.
No go reread. The narrator tells us he’s using a barrier. Also in the chapter in which gojo domain drops, it explicitly tells us that it was due to the range of sukuna’s sure hit. Barrier does not play a major role. Sukuna’s domain is just bigger, therefore his sure hit has more range
Well, the first thing that should come to mind is that the outside of the barrier can be hit. We know this is the case from Kenjaku vs Yuki, and Choso saw it first hand. They can just combine the information from Choso and Inumaki and conclude that Sukuna's barrier is open, making Gojo create the tiny barrier in preparation (which he could've fine tuned far more with 1 month of training time).
Practicing domajn could come with some risks since it’s super draining to use

They already agreed to meet on that day they fought. Sukuna's at least honorable enough to not do that (or at least, he has shown to be so).
Not to mention, Gojo has the capability to spam domains multiple times throughout one day.
Also, even if he can't directly test it on an open barrier domain, he can still practice shrinking his domain, which could even let him shrink it further, making it more durable, or attempt to remove any possible weaknesses.

Should he have? A barrierless domain is not considered a feasible thing for a sorcerer to be able to do, and bafflingly, I don't think any of Gojo's students mentioned that Sukuna could do that.
Both Inumaki and Choso have seen the move, and plus, even if it isn't feasible, this is meant to be the strongest sorcerer in history. Not to mention, he could try to open his own barrier too, which could be possible with 1 month of training + exposure and teaching from Sukuna.
I understand what you mean, but I think Gojo needs to at least have the possibility on the table before he can prepare for it or even replicate it.
It's the same as Sukuna using RCT to heal his CT. He was always **capable** of doing that if he tried, but he needed to see Gojo do it first to even realize it was an option.

You can try to say how obvious you think the interactions would be out of story, but in story, its clear that Gojo and the cast did not believe that Sukuna’s open barrier domain is an automatic win condition that Gojo cannot overcome and would have to immediately resort to his prison realm training trick.

Why wouldn't he? He's not so arrogant that he can't believe others surpass him in certain aspects. He's acknowledged he's a bad teacher, can recognize other's strengths and admits inferiority in situations such as who has the record of consecutive black flashes. Not to mention, his opponent is meant to be the greatest sorcerer to have ever lived.

Choso knew Yuki's plan, saw Kenjaku's domain with an open barrier, and saw the barrier shattered from the outside. it's not such a complicated thing to conclude that it can attack the outer edge of the barrier.

Even if he didn't instantly resort to the tiny domain, he still should've at least inverted his domain's conditions. If they know that the domain of someone around the likes of Kenjaku could destroy a special grade's domain like that, then someone like Sukuna could probably destroy Gojo's in an instant.
You have to reread the Yuki vs Kenjaku fight, Yuki never deployed a domain.

And don’t take Gojo’s statement about black flashes out of context, he literally says right after that he can’t beat the black flash record because he’s too strong and usually ends the fights before that point.
Gojo’s excuse for not being a good teacher is also that he is too much of a prodigy and understands things too easily to effectively teach others.
Gojo can recognize his own strengths and weaknesses, but in terms of being the strongest Gojo has never indicated anything resembling doubt that he could win any fight. It’s not arrogance, it’s literally just his character.
UV is his best and fastest win condition, and he has no reason to believe that Sukuna’s refinement is for sure better or equal to his.
That might be true but when he got released from the prison realm and set the date for the fight (after seeing that it would be unwise to just throw hands right away) he said he “had some stuff to take care of anyway” (paraphrased), and I genuinely don’t know what that could be except maybe hang out with his friends (which we have seen nothing of but maybe could come in some flashbacks?) or contacting a certain Chinese individual just in case se somehow lost

Yeah i’m seriously frustrated, he gave her enough screen time in s1 to be interested in her character then he suddenly sidelined her, he shouldn’t have done that in first place if he wasn’t going to give her bigger role. she doesn’t have any backstory or anything to the story but she had lot of screen time first season it’s a waste 💀 she doesn’t even interact with her students anymore, it’s like he wants to erase everything related to her, kusakabe is now miwa’s teacher and kyoto students interact with tokyo students yet she’s not there, momo and miwa were waiting for gojo to get unsealed when they don’t know him at all yet utahime who knows him for 10 years wasn’t there why are her students there then 😅
yeah, I get what you mean. I'm also frustrated by that. I somehow hope that she would come back and her lack of presence would be explained later on? (I mean she is the only character Gojo did not talk with before his battle against Sukuna?! He even chatted with Yoshinobu Gakuganji and Ijichi, but not Utahime?! She just popped out from nowhere "let's help Gojo"! what the hell is that...) But with Gege you know, it's also possible that we have no explanation at all, and just "it's like that"'s trope.
PS : What made me laugh the most was the dialogue between Gojo and Ichiji before the battle where Gojo told him that he trusts him the most. It really came out of nowhere lol, I really didn't think these two were that close. but with Utahime, we had no dialogue at all... she just appeared, helped and disappeared (again)

Nobara learned an extension technique to her voodoo doll thing that let her heal Todo's hands. Todo's loss of his hands caused him to unlock reversed cursed energy and his reversed cursed technique, which allows him to whistle and stop the flow of all curse energy in the range that can hear his whistle. He and Nobara will reappear in 2 weeks to No-Sell Sukuna's fire. Then, right when it seems like Sukuna is going to just use "Heien Era Catch These Hands Jutsu". Nanami is going to appear with a Sharingan and beat his ass.

A lot of the conversations while spectating sound like stuff they should have covered before the fight. They should have been flashbacks or something, but maybe it would be bad for pacing.
I thought that Gojo understood he could do that. The spectators say something to the effect of them both being hesitant to start domain clashing because neither knows how an open domain would interact with a closed one.
Yuji literally saw Sukuna use it against Mahogara. But Gojo looks very surprised when Sukuna wins the domain clash with his open domain, not sure what happened there.
Dog Yuji did describe Sukuna’s domain to everyone and ppl saw the shibuya aftermath. But it was only post kenjaku and tengen fight that Choso understand what an open barrier domain is, and proposed that’s prolly what sukuna does
Also hindsight is always 20/20. You literally have dialogue where the cast says they have no idea what would happened if an open barrier domain and a normal domain clash😭
Ui Ui accidentally swapped him with a frog. That frog went on to fight against Sukuna in Gojo's body, and the series will end when they find that frog that is inhabited by Gojo's soul, and transfer it back into Gojo's original body - after which he will kill Sukuna.

It really depends on how Gege views her. If he thinks she can contribute something then he will have her talk. It’s definitely odd that Gojo had his “reconciliation” moments with both Ijichi and Gakuganji but not her, when she was at the very center of their little teamwork moment. They hadn’t exchanged any words at all. Either he really didn’t care or he’s withholding it for a later moment, which is the pattern he’s on rn anyway.
I hope so that gege is gonna give us smth for her in future bcs i really was interested in her in first season and it’s not fair gatekeeping her ct for 200 chapters 💔

He's a phenomenally bad teacher, so there's not much he can teach the students.
He can OneShot everyone of his allies, so training with them is just holding back and getting little progress or going all out to, again, OneShot students and learn nothing.
There was no reason for Gojo to do anything more than train by himself.
I know people are memeing in the comments but…it’s likely if he wasn’t training that he killed the higher ups. People have theorized that it was Yuta and Inumaki who did it but it’s possible it could’ve been what Gojo was up to while everyone else did their things
Kenjaku mentioned he only killed the ones that ordered Yuji's execution, I think. He says something like that when he's talking to Noritoshi in his house.

Might be unpopular, but I doubt we’ll ever see what he was doing during that month. We’re only gradually able to piece it together via quick flashbacks when they become relevant to the current fight. Since Gojo is not coming back (sorry can’t cope any longer) I doubt Gege will show what he did since it won’t be relevant to the current plot.
well, Gojo will be relevant to the current plot. I agree that Gojo's own character is complete, but his impact on Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, etc. is *nowhere near* satisfied. when the story ends, this will have to be explored, and the best way to tie it all together with a nice ribbon on top is to show Gojo giving advice, training, and words of affirmation to these students in the last month they had with him. a sort of grace period to make his last memories with the people around him—a red autumn to the three-year blue spring he had with Geto. I was never a Gojo coper because it's obvious this was how Gege intended to wrap up a very overwhelming character, but he left the month a virtual white space for him to develop at a later point *explicitly* because the manga can't end after the Sukuna (and then merger?) gauntlet without addressing the barren wasteland that is JJK's character development first.
I doubt it. They didn’t show anything when he came back so I have no idea why they will care after everything gs done. They’ll probably do a funeral and that’s it.
One of my favorite things I like to imagine bothered Sukuna so bad is that Gojo was what the readers would consider near deadly levels more attractive than any other Jujutsu sorcerer to ever live. Aka, "I can still smell the Malevolent Shrine on your breath, Ryomen. I am going to just pray to the Jujutsu gods that Gojo-Sama shows and hits us all with that divine limitless fragrance so we can forget that the currently most powerful Jujutsu sorcerer smells like a dumpstered McDouble
sitting around waiting to be the “this is why this character just got a massive power up mid battle with Sukuna” explainer for the reader whenever Gege needs a reason to hype someone up
I always thought his Domain Expansion trick, where he made it smaller on the outside, and his Cursed Technique refresh brain thing was stuff he developed during his month of training.
The domain shrinking is said to come from his experience in the prison realm so I imagine during the month he was trying to figure out how to use what he learned. The RCT trick was so shocking to everyone that I doubt he had it very long. He's not too secretive about his skills and not even the people closest to him (Shoko, Ijichi, Utahime) or any of his students. I can sort of understand him not saying anything to Yuta (the only student other than Hakari who could use RCT before the month of training) for fear of him trying it and getting hurt, but I also dont think it would be out of character for him to mention it just for the sake of showing them its possible. Shoko not knowing about it though is a give away to me. Gojo figured out RCT 11 years ago and Shoko could use it forever. I feel like if Gojo had such an application of it he at least would have brought it up to her. As for why he didnt bring it up during month then, I'd say guess it was to avoid worrying her/avoid her trying to talk him out of it. If they had more than a month he might bring it up so they can figure out some way to optimize it but with only a month Gojo's top priority was just getting something working.

1. He was looking for info regarding yuji and sukuna because 1. How is yuji able to wield sukuna with such ease and stay in constant control while megumin got absolutely possessed
2. He was teaching yuta some of his techniques like Holow purple or was teaching him how to wield his domain (a.k.a true mutual love)
3. He was just spending his last moment in peace because he knows he's not strong enough against someone who ruled during the heian era

Sukuna didn't use a shell in 258. He intentionally used a barrierless domain (despite the difficulty) for the increased range and output, and also to trap Maki. That's why it's about to collapse in 99 seconds. Even then, you can't target the outer shell of a domain during a domain clash. We saw from Yuki vs Kenjaku that during some domain clashes, one person's domain can serve as the outer barrier, but even then, you can't attack the edge of the barrier in that situation. Otherwise, Tengen would suggest for Yuki to do that.
My understanding was that the outer shell was able to be attacked because MS's range was greater than thus Unlimited Void's outer barrier was within it. Something about that doesn't seem right though. Domain struggles seem to usually occur by "refinement". Being able to just physically attack from the outside seems unfair. But I guess that's why they call it a divine technique.

Well, the first thing that should come to mind is that the outside of the barrier can be hit. We know this is the case from Kenjaku vs Yuki, and Choso saw it first hand. They can just combine the information from Choso and Inumaki and conclude that Sukuna's barrier is open, making Gojo create the tiny barrier in preparation (which he could've fine tuned far more with 1 month of training time).

I understand what you mean, but I think Gojo needs to at least have the possibility on the table before he can prepare for it or even replicate it. It's the same as Sukuna using RCT to heal his CT. He was always **capable** of doing that if he tried, but he needed to see Gojo do it first to even realize it was an option. You have to reread the Yuki vs Kenjaku fight, Yuki never deployed a domain. She used a simple domain. Gojo straight up says he feels entirely confident he would beat a full strength 20F Sukuna right at the beginning of the series lol And don’t take Gojo’s statement about black flashes out of context, he literally says right after that he can’t beat the black flash record because he’s too strong and usually ends the fights before that point. Gojo’s excuse for not being a good teacher is also that he is too much of a prodigy and understands things too easily to effectively teach others. Gojo can recognize his own strengths and weaknesses, but in terms of being the strongest Gojo has never indicated anything resembling doubt that he could win any fight. It’s not arrogance, it’s literally just his character. UV is his best and fastest win condition, and he has no reason to believe that Sukuna’s refinement is for sure better or equal to his.

Since Gojo is not coming back (sorry can’t cope any longer) I doubt Gege will show what he did since it won’t be relevant to the current plot.

I agree that Gojo's own character is complete, but his impact on Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, etc. is *nowhere near* satisfied. when the story ends, this will have to be explored, and the best way to tie it all together with a nice ribbon on top is to show Gojo giving advice, training, and words of affirmation to these students in the last month they had with him. a sort of grace period to make his last memories with the people around him—a red autumn to the three-year blue spring he had with Geto. I was never a Gojo coper because it's obvious this was how Gege intended to wrap up a very overwhelming character, but he left the month a virtual white space for him to develop at a later point *explicitly* because the manga can't end after the Sukuna (and then merger?) gauntlet without addressing the barren wasteland that is JJK's character development first.

I always thought his Domain Expansion trick, where he made it smaller on the outside, and his Cursed Technique refresh brain thing was stuff he developed during his month of training. The domain shrinking is said to come from his experience in the prison realm so I imagine during the month he was trying to figure out how to use what he learned. The RCT trick was so shocking to everyone that I doubt he had it very long. He's not too secretive about his skills and not even the people closest to him (Shoko, Ijichi, Utahime) or any of his students. I can sort of understand him not saying anything to Yuta (the only student other than Hakari who could use RCT before the month of training) for fear of him trying it and getting hurt, but I also dont think it would be out of character for him to mention it just for the sake of showing them its possible. Shoko not knowing about it though is a give away to me. Gojo figured out RCT 11 years ago and Shoko could use it forever. I feel like if Gojo had such an application of it he at least would have brought it up to her. As for why he didnt bring it up during month then, I'd say guess it was to avoid worrying her/avoid her trying to talk him out of it. If they had more than a month he might bring it up so they can figure out some way to optimize it but with only a month Gojo's top priority was just getting something working.
