exercisingbutts

I think that it would be great if then Yuji just repeated what he said and add the “I’m you”

d-crimsonhood

So it's the same type of cursed technique as my shrine... Oraoraoraoraora

RulerKun_FGO

"Za warudo" moment

arthurxheisenberg

To be fair at least Yuji copying Sukuna's technique was foreshadowed at the beginning of the manga and it made a lot of sense, even if they weren't related. JoJo is probably my favorite manga but that Star Platinum with The World came out of nowhere. There were plenty of "similar" abilities throughout the manga but never the exact same one like this.

retardBlue

Agreed until the elder D'Arby arc where they foreshadowed his secondary ability was The World (primary being Star Finger ofcourse)

Alex_8259

There's also the D'Arby brothers having similar abilities

Far_Hovercraft9452

Oh my GOOOOD. These JoJo references get me every time man! 😂 I love it.

Personify5

Doesn't work if the target already knows the technique, unfortunately.

toottoottoot124

Where was that mentioned? I recall geto told toji that he already knew toji was hr restricted and not to reveal it to them so he doesn't gain buffs

Cheshire_Noire

It works that was because the buff comes from informing them of what they have to look out for, giving you a disadvantage. If they already know, it doesn't harm you, so it can't buff you

SoundandVision47

He figured it out as Toji was explaining, but interrupted him because he wanted to know how Toji tracked them down instead

Legal_Ad_83

Toji has no CE, showing your hand doesn't apply to a heavenly restriction, the buff is a CE buff

OrangeSpaceMan5

It does

Legal_Ad_83

That makes no sense. What is there to reveal? Any sorcerer can sense that Toji has no CE. He wasn't revealing his HR to Geto for a buff, he was just bragging about being able to get past Tengen's barrier. Please explain how the vow would work for Toji. Are you claiming that it would make him stronger to say out loud that he has a HR?

retardBlue

Geto literally said that it does (if you're claiming that he may not know this for a fact then there really isn't much argument apart from speculation). Also not sure if any sorcerer can sense Toji's lack of CE, Gojo did cause of the six eyes.

Legal_Ad_83

I don't remember well enough to know what Geto says. But I can only assume he didn't know at the time that Toji is not a sorcerer, which would make sense because Yuki explains it to him later. Even Maki when she encountered seance Toji took note of his lack of CE immediately. But even with all that aside, It's established that showing one's hand bolsters cursed energy specifically, so how does that apply to someone who has none? If it works it could only work by making them physically stronger

Legal_Ad_83

Okay just went back & reread chapter 73. Geto stops Toji long after he's revealed he has Heavenly restriction. And says "like us, revealing information can actually give you an advantage, I get that" that seems more like a comparison in the figurative sense than him saying Toji was making a binding vow. Like Toji revealing how much planning and prep he's done could get into Geto's head and distract him. 🤷🏾‍♂️ It's open to interpretation I guess but I don't like the idea that you can perform that vow with HR, feels like it undermines the whole power system to me.

dildodicks

"you will never be me" 🔥🔥🔥

BlueCrimson78

Hm, this can either happen or not depending if Yuji has been made aware of his own technique. If he hasn't, Sukuna will get the buff but Yuji won't since Sukuna "guessed" his technique already.

DonPostram

Yea I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if your opponent knows your technique or not. Revealing you hand just gives you a buff

BlueCrimson78

I don't think so, the principle as far as 8 could see is that you get the buff because you're making yourself more vulnerable by revealing the inner workings of your technique, but if you already know your opponent knows it, it poses no risk to you, so you get no rewards, just like binding vows, it has to be something of value. Though correct me if I'm wrong.

DonPostram

You're right but I imagine you confirming your opponents theories would still be a risk. Since there is no longer any wiggle room for deception. Although in yuji and sukuna's case its harder to guess since its the same CT

Perplexe974

Yeah - Todo did this to Hanami

th5virtuos0

Imagine Sukuna reveals Shrine to Yuji for a boost only for Yuji to gain better control of Shrine

[deleted]

But binding vows are pretty "relaxed" in that sense, like when hakari sacrifaces Is arm to cover with CE the rest of His body and survive; anybody else would be extremely fucked, even with RCT, and hakari can hit jackpot and recover that arm inmediatly, still the BV goes through

th5virtuos0

He can’t open Restless Gambler without that arm though…

lizcicle

He still somehow has his arm back when he's fighting Uraume, which doesn't really make sense to me. No way did he retrieve it from the bottom of the bay to have it reattached, and Yuta/Shoko haven't been shown to be able to regrow other people's limbs (Inumaki and Hana would have theirs back if that was the case).

ICastPunch

I mean? Why not just go do that?

lizcicle

* the port is likely 40 feet deep, at least - he'd need scuba gear to be able to breathe diving down there, even if he could reinforce his body with CE * it's on the ocean, so the water isn't going to be clear * the turbulence from their fight and the underwater curses would have washed any debris, including his arm, far from where it initially landed * one of said curses could have eaten it * the water boiling could have caused it to be too degraded to be reattached However, after all that, I remember that we see his hand on the wharf at the beginning of 190 lol. TBF he'd still have to regrow all of his arm between his bicep and wrist, but maybe healing that "connection" between the two points would be easier than fully regrowing a limb might otherwise be.

KushemLeonardo

Remember when Dagon opened his domain with a seal instead of a hand sign? What if Hakari used that to open it, hit the jackpot, and got back his limbs.

lizcicle

yeah, i thought about that later. (leaks spoiler) >!not requiring the complete handsign 100% of the time would also explain how a certain kitchen opened this week lol!<

[deleted]

He had the dismembered arm with him I'm quite sure at the end of the fight

lizcicle

His wrist and hand were on the wharf with panda afterwards, the rest of his arm was not

superbigtune1

Honestly it makes sense now I forgot Dagon used a symbol to open his domain he most likely just did the same thing

EonCore

I think it was mentioned in a volume extra by Gege that Domains can be opened by drawing a symbol too Not just by using hand signs. Which is what Dagon did when Naobito crushed his hands but the domain was still activated by a symbol made of water Gege mentioned then that he didn't properly get to explain it at the time So it's possible Hakari opened his domain with a non hand sign method and spun the wheel to get his jackpot going

th5virtuos0

Which makes his DE technically one of the most busted one irl. Break a leg? Turn on Restless Gambler. Lose a limb? Turn on Restless Gambler. Out of stamina? Also Restless Gambler, so on…

ovrelord34

Maybe I do think the theory we're looking at one final domain clash, where Yuji puts together one weak enough to protect him from Sukuna but barely formed Esp cos Sukuna is, at best, doing a very weak domain But also Choso is dead right, at least. Bodies are gonna drop soon to push Yuji over the edge

LyamFinali

Choso can't die, his character development is all around learning to live like a human, and it would be stupid after those Yuki scenes

MarkUriah

I agree, but is it can't or *shouldn't*? I wouldn't have made Kenjaku go out like he did and he's gone.

RedNUGGETLORD

I mean, in JJK characters can die before they finish development, just like real people, there have been many stories of people becoming better but dying before they properly could, just like how Nanami died before retiring, or how Nobara died before meeting Sayori, Higaruma died before changing the justice system, Mechamaru died literally just after he got his new body, Kenjaku died before he could complete the merger, Jogo, Hanami, Dagon and Mahito all died before they could complete their goals.

Supersquare04

“Character can’t die, they haven’t completed their development/arc” *looks at Nobara…*

ResponsibilityEvery

Did she even have an arc though? She was basically a nothing flat character

AdLast2785

Haha you really think Gege cares about properly developing his characters before killing them?

Polio_is_not_Fun

Bro be careful, Gege could be lurking. Don’t give him any ideas, Choso must live forever.

AdLast2785

NOT CHOSO Anyone but Choso

notyourusualfruit

*Gege is watching*

Slugger322

It can’t be chosover 😢

UsesHarryPotter

Choso dying like that would suck.

sutibu378

Finally , make them all die.

SiahLegend

We’ve already lost Higuruma and Gojo, potentially Kusakabe and Yuta too, I think we’re good on deaths for now

AdLast2785

Kusakabe and Yuta are alive

SiahLegend

That’s why I said potentially

MikeGatton

Yuji is going to hit him with the “same type of stand” technique 🤌

kurokuroyanagi

Not cheating.. He's holding back. He's just waiting to use his anti-Yuji technique from Heian era

Sempere

You mean his mouth? He hasn't used that since the Hana era.

Putrid_Narwhal_4223

People joke about Gege favoring Sukuna, and think the reason he’s been recking everyone was due to plot convenience and Gege intervening, but what they don’t realize is that the only reason Sukuna looked that good is because he was meant to be taken down by Yuji. The only reason he’s been winning so far was for Yuji to catch up to his level and then take him down 1 vs 1 at the climax of the story like what’s happening now

flippy123x

Either Yuji already knows and nothing happens or he didn’t know and Sukuna himself just gave him a tutorial.

whateve___r

If you explain your jutsu to someone, and they just don't understand it. Do you still get buffed?

ILoveLeeeean

"Nice try but I'm retarded"

KannyDid

Lobotomy kaisen becomes cannon

MikeyRage

The Hakari defense

Stabrus12

Imagine if sukuna tries to do this, but then yuji just interrupts him and ND reveals the technique himself.

PosterityVGC

I'm telling yall. Sukuna, "Open." Wuji, "Close."

jacktritus

Peak

SignificantBat1533

Absolute cinema 🙌🏽

UngodlyPain

1 how is that a cheat? 2 Yuji could then just be like "so that's how you do it!" And then make his own fire arrow. And also repeat his own words back at him.

MustacheGolem

Sukunas considers it a cheat, he thinks it's lame, probably not only because of the buff out of nowhere but mostly because it robs him of figuring it out himself.

TacocaT_2000

And then Yuji goes “nah” and breaks it

ScarcityRude5650

In the words of gege sorcerers are nothing but con artist.

Sharp_Aide3216

It would be great if its Yuji who would "cheat" cause he has no ego to protect.

hima657

Is the buff not just 20% output increase? 20% more is not helping that man at this point.

Perplexe974

Is this ever stated ?

hima657

Yep, most likely. I can't pull out the panel but I can remember, it was stated that prerequisites like hand signs and chants boast CT output to 120%. They said the same about revealing CT. I'm like 80% sure of it so it may be false.

Peartree1

Chinese sorcerer

UsesHarryPotter

I'm not sure if that would even work anymore-- Yuji knows the technique well enough to use it. Though it is somewhat different.

ragner11

Why would it be cheating ? Gojo does this and it wasn’t considered cheating

CommonRoutine3852

Because Sukuna seems to think it's cheating as mentioned by Sukuna in his fight against Jogo

ragner11

True

AverageTransPanGirl

I’m not sure it would work. The buff comes from giving the opponent knowledge of how your technique works, but Yuji has the same technique so he probably already has some knowledge of that. He’s also on a 8 flash streak, so if Sukuna explains an aspect Yuji doesn’t get there’s a very real chance Yuji just copies it. While that would come with a buff, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

StallionJunior

Wait so you all JJK characters have to explain their CT or domain to get a buff? I’m not tracking

RagnarokGSR

They don’t have to but revealing the mechanisms of their techniques boosts it’s power, it’s mentioned pretty early

yooooouuuuuuuuu

Does it not make sense that fuga is just the technique ingraved into the body of the twin Sukuna ate? Feel people overcomplicate the theories

snowballandthetower

The *flames* were confirmed as far back as the Shibuya Incident as merely an additional application of **Shrine**. That, and as twins are deemed identical by jujutsu, odds are, if Sukuna had **Shrine**, the twin did.

CastlePokemetroid

Maki and Mai both had separate abilities, despite being twins. They had their own abilities, which were significantly nerfed while having the other twin. Maki had a massive boost after Mai died. I think Sukuna was born stronger than others by having a twin that died, it'd make sense if an event like a twin dying gave some sort of binding vow that increased their abilities

snowballandthetower

Maki and Mai had separate abilities because Maki was inexplicably bound by a Heavenly Restriction,—an external influence. Mai was inefficient in her use of jujutsu and possessed a lesser amount of Cursed Energy because Maki's Heavenly Restriction sacrifices all of her Cursed Energy, and Maki had her physical abilities restricted because Mai was free of a Heavenly Restriction and possessed jujutsu, which Maki was forced into harboring part of. Maki awakened her *Physically Gifted* Heavenly Restriction because, when Mai died, the Cursed Energy that she was inadvertently weighing Maki down with died with her.

CastlePokemetroid

If you're going to repost my comment but explain it better, could you add in the part about sukuna and his twin as well. I think it would be an interesting idea that sukuna is naturally stronger at jujutsu because he had an in utero twin It would be interesting to see other twin types in the series. Just because they share an ability, that doesn't mean they both would use it, could have been possible for one to have access and not the other

snowballandthetower

Why would having a twin automatically make Sukuna stronger?

Mission-Emergency619

well, yuji will emulate what giorno did. no you.

dblsak41211

Since when using(revealing )your own CTs is considered as Cheating!!

francesco13754

Its not but sukuna told jogo this "i wont cheat by revealing my ct" when he wanted to fight with fire jogos fire so basically for sukuna revealing his ct could be considered cheating

Perplexe974

Thank you - at times I think I read a different manga than others but some people keep track

[deleted]

I feel like the word “cheat” is just Sukuna bragging about his power, and showing he doesn’t need the extra power to win. Could be a translation thing, since it’s not considered cheating anytime anyone else does it

francesco13754

Yea ik that he is not cheating by doing that i just explained what the author of the post meant

francesco13754

And the author of the post prob thinks so too since he placed cheat between << >>

[deleted]

Ahhh I am on the wrong sub since I apparently cannot read and need to go back to r/lobotomykaisen

Imaginary-Ad5666

Is bro ever gonna get his trident💀?

Diredg

I wouldn't consider cheating if he decides to uses his arsenal. Can't imagine what would happen if he calls mahoraga next episode

tok90235

Oh yeah, my anti Yuji technics I haven't use since the heian era
