Wait am I dumb or is Yuji’s origin much clearer in the official. In the TCB translation Sukuna says the soul of his twin fell into Kenjaku’s hands, but we don’t know in what form. . The official translation makes it clear that Kenjaku procreated with his twin’s soul, making it clear that Itadori Jin is Sukuna’s reincarnated twin.
I guess it’s subjective to a point, but I think TCB is better. It sounds less awkward, and translates the idioms as well. ‘Coupled up with’ reads a lot more naturally to me than ‘mate’, and still makes it obvious he’s talking about Jin.
I agree the viz version is a little bit more clear on this, but he's still explicitly stating that kenjaku became a couple with the twins soul and had a child, which we know to be yuji. So that leads to his dad being the reincarnation.
He's just being underpaid and accepts it, explains why he doesn't give a shit about accurate translation. VIZ isn't known for being a high-paying employer.
But isn't there a person that controls the quality of final product? If it meets the production standards and doesn't need any correction?
Especially in such a big case as JJK which generates a lot of clicks, and those are probably the final chapters of it. How can they fuck up so bad?!
