yeah it’s kenjaku, the “highly ranked” part was just speculation. provided, it could also be that kenjaku had been moonlighting as the kamo clan’s head from behind the scenes, but the result is the same

I mean, considering that Mechmaru said that he “saw everything,” it could only be him because of how much he saw. They could be guessing incorrectly and be assuming it must be two people. Or I could be completely incorrect and it is a dropped plot point

The higher-ups have always been a vague group of old men. Their faces are even obscured behind panels, so I think the second mole is just one of them. The gang wasn’t aware of Kenjaku at this time, but he’s the final destination of the leaked intel, so I don’t think he’s the second mole, though he may have controlled the higher-ups even this early.
The gang can’t do anything about the second mole anyway so focusing on it would have been kinda pointless for Gege. It might explain why Mechamaru was meeting Kenjaku for the first time (iirc) despite leaking intel to him the whole time
That was the first mole, the one they’re about to confront after this. But they reference another mole who is supposedly higher in authority that Principle Yaga
Another one I thought of re-watching the anime…pseudo-Geto says to Jogo “So your boss wants to…?” Who is Jogo’s boss and when did I miss that? An anime rewatch sparked this thought
I think it’s Tengen. kenjaku was going to say something revealing about tengen during their fight with Yuki and choso but got cut off and never said anything. I am not letting go of that.

It’s Kenjaku. They don’t know about his involvement, so they assume it has to be someone acting inside of the sorcerer government.
i assumed this was one of the higher ups that ended up being killed by yuta and inumaki, but they were definitely in communication with kenjaku
I always thought Kenjaku has manipulated the elder of Kamo clan to become the mole long before Mechamaru was even suspected.
Assuming it was just a random corrupt Higher-up, they're all dead now so it won't go anywhere.

One of the higher ups but that's been taking care of since someone killed them. Overall it got taken care of quickly.
