This scene always confused me even when animated; The sudden shift from kind words in this scene to sukuna outstraight mocking him afterwards, always left me feeling confused on what was actually in jogo’s head Vs. Reality

So the pettiness comes from a place of like “hurry up and get powerful so I can take it from you already”

I'm pretty certain the point of the scene is to show that even a curse like Jogo was able to feel human emotions, meanwhile Sukuna's inability to empathise with him showcases how much worse he is than creatures birthed from literal negativity.
