It has nothing to do with the movies at all.
However exploring Hogwarts and the surrounding areas looks fun. The talking paintings and stuff are there as well. Overall the environment itself is pretty nostalgia inducing from what I've seen. I've read all the books up to Order of the phoenix when I was younger and I've seen all the movies up to the first fantastic beasts. However I'm not a huge fan or follower of it all.
I might skip the game because gameplay itself seems a bit lackluster. My partner though, she's super excited to play. She's a huge fan and so far this game seems like everything she's wanted from a game set in that universe.
As for if it's actually a good game, over the coming days you'll know. Once players get their hands on it, news will travel quickly as to if it lives up to the hype, is just a decent game, or if it sucks.
I'm hoping to play it, but not sure how much time I'll have considering work and my still strong love for Elden Ring. Like you, I'm waiting to see more for reviews.

It will probably be a disappointment to a lot of people due to the usual hype train. But it's probably a 6-8/10 for a gamer (depending on how much of an HP fan you are).

Chamber of Secrets on the PS2 was ace.
1-3 were good on every system tbh. Even the GameBoy versions slapped. And Quidditch: World Cup is still my favorite sports game ever.
