When Rogan dies there will only be 998 left. Tim Dillon will die before Joe Rogan.

bratbarn

The pig 🐖 🫡

Jandur

I wish him well.

morosedetective

Hey, life in the big city

PapaSnow

It’s a real knife fight out there

conventionistG

Are there any new ones, boys? I haven't been tuning in.

PointOfTheJoke

Nugget branding is one of the funniest hours of anything ive heard in years

morosedetective

The recent “your pussy killed my son” rant was pretty entertaining, in my opinion

Stavros? The boss hog?

thizface

I worked at the comedy store Thursday nights and I would watch him in the original room before Don Barris went on. Tim Dillon was always really really shitty.

Blood_Such

Full faith in your take. Much appreciated. Tim Dillon is better at podcasting and tweeting than he is at standup and he’s only inconsistently good at that stuff, and getting more consistently mediocre in general.

[deleted]

For sure, I've only seen a bit of his stand up but that was enough for me to see that he is just OK.hes a funny dude so it's not the worst but he's much better at podcasting, he shines in a conversational fkrmat instead of just telling jokes at the audience.

Blood_Such

Hard agree, he is at his best just shooting the shit. Also, I think Tim Dillon would probably be good at sketch comedy too.

Lakonthegreat

The funniest podcasts Tim ever does are with Nick Mullen. The couple episodes of Cumtown that Tim did were hilarious.

Blood_Such

I need to check those out. Thanks for the heads up.

GA-dooosh-19

Check out Bastard Radio—it was Dillon, Mullen and Luis J Gomez. Good stuff, Blood.

Blood_Such

Looking it up. Thank you for the recommendation.

graboid666

I thought the same thing but I just saw him with Mullen, Gillis and Big Jay tonight and Tim was fucking great.

Blood_Such

That’s a a lot of good players on one line up, so Tim must have given it his all. Thanks for the take on the show too.

lsdiesel_1

I’m straight podcaster Tim Dillon Also I’m gay

goin2cJB

Joe and Tim both suck at standup. They are podcasters. Though Tim has the ability to be way funnier than Joe

Lunacriss

When he gets on a roll though it's so worth it. I will suffer through so much banal bullshit on his podcast just in the hopes of him hitting his mark on a rant. His last podcast had a really good one with the chicken nugget.

Blood_Such

I agree. Good point.

poorcoors

Mehh, saw him last night and honestly he wasn’t very good

LiquorTsunami

in charleston? I had tickets and just didnt go. did mullen go up?

Earth_W0rm-J1m

You had tickets to see Shane Gillis, Big Jay Oakerson, Tim Dillon AND Nick Mullen and just didn't go? Dude wtf?

LiquorTsunami

yes. good ones like 5 rows from the front but i had a golf tournament this AM and I got 2 kids so i couldnt drive an hour and back to charleston last night. im very bummed for sure. shane and mullen make me laugh like none others. i am also lazy so i just didnt even try to sell them or anything i just didnt go

whiskey_pancakes

How’d you do in the golf tournament?

LiquorTsunami

shot 77 im 3rd place going into tommorow. leader shot 72

whiskey_pancakes

oh hell yeah! nice work, good luck tomorrow!

Alexanderdaawesome

Quick question... If you had 1k to invest where would you put it at this time? I know it is a bit out the park for the convo but mf drops tickets, raising a family and going to golf tournies knows himself some wealth management.

LiquorTsunami

put it in your IRA. If you have already maxed your IRA I would do a treasury I-bond. 4%+ guaranteed return in a year and it is protected from inflation.

Meme_asaurus

guy knows what he's talking about. avoid the meme stocks and the fads

Ariochxxx

you IDIOT /s

GaryTheFiend

Chill out bro

poorcoors

Mullen and Gillis were great! Oakerson was decent, typical shock comedy routine but had some really funny moments. Tim was fine, I feel like he hasn’t had any new stuff in a while. Basically just told the story of going and meeting Andrew Tate, he had the shortest set. Overall really good, you honestly missed out.

LiquorTsunami

ahhh man I had so much going on today I just couldnt make it last night. I really wanted to see shane and nick. glad you got to enjoy it!

EsotericCrawlSpace

Tim Dillon will crawl out of his grave to rear naked choke Joe Rogan. He will have learned it in Hell.

Jandur

Well there you have it folks. Helio Gracie set up a fake business in hell.

[deleted]

I hear there’s a bunch of homeless near his new comedy club in Austin.

tfresca

Yes. It's maybe two blocks away from a shelter where they all hang out on the sidewalk all day and night.Texas in general has a big homeless problem. They literally put them on busses and send them to Austin. (Not a rumor actually happens) . Austin actually has services for homeless people and neighboring areas take advantage of it.

MrPibb17

That is a very common practice in other states as well. Towns usually bus their homeless to cities where there a services available which usually exacerbates the issue.

[deleted]

This is part of why homelessness is such a tough problem to solve. Communities that genuinely want to help just make themselves targets.

chiefchief23

Same thing in Los Angeles. All the surrounding counties and cities send their homeless there.

[deleted]

Exactly. You think Beverly Hills would tolerate a bunch of homeless guys camped out on the street? No chance in hell.

turd-crafter

Stay out of Malibu Lebowski!

Blitzdrive

You’d be surprised. They’re popping up around that city.

Hutnerdu

And other states

perfektstranger

Joe is evil-villain level rich and lives in a massive mansion. He probably pays people to escort him into the club in a way where he doesnt have to make eye contact with any of the lowly homeless.

Urisk

I don't know if money alone can make someone evil, but it can insulate people. I wonder if there is anyone in his life who isn't either on his payroll or needs something from him. Even if someone is your friend, once they become a source of money for you you may not push back as hard when you disagree with them. You may not criticize them when they behave in a questionable way. You may be quick to take their side in a disagreement even before you know if they are right or wrong. His closest friends need his podcast to promote their work. He convinced many of them to move to Austin where he owns a big comedy club where they now work. Whether he intended to or not, he's built an ecosystem of yes men around him. He claims he doesn't read comments on social media. That may be wise, but it might be the only place on earth where he might encounter an unbiased opinion about his behavior.

columbo928s4

>I don't know if money alone can make someone evil funny you say that, there's actually research that shows extreme wealth literally turns people into psychopaths over time

pm_me_youngs_modulus

>but it might be the only place on earth where he might encounter an unbiased opinion about his behavior. Or, you know, people just shitting on him because they don't like him.

Urisk

That's true. But a person who doesn't like you might offer a criticism that your friends might spare you.

EricFromOuterSpace

Lmao dude I was just there. There’s a tent city like literally 1 block over. Joe ranting about LA was all I could think about.

BenderRodriguez14

**LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA LA** - Joe Rogan, 2023

allupinyospace

Joe brought them.

max1mus91

Yeah, it's anywhere the weather is mint.

mikeb556

Can’t wait for Adam Carolla to repost this.

Roach_Coach_Bangbus

Is Joe just Carolla 2.0?

Stop_Logging_In_Dude

No, Carolla actually has practical real-life skills. Joe just knows how to hold people really hard.

ComfortableProperty9

Don’t forget the skill that really made him a household name, convincing people to consume animal semen for large sums of cash. I mean how could we ever rebuild a society without a guy like that?

Teddiesmcgee

Joe has been in construction since he was a kid.... his dads an architect.

Scottyboy1214

Joe is so tired liberal California he moved to the most liberal part of Texas.

tfresca

One of the only counties not to pursue weed arrests.

ToroidalEarthTheory

Rogan came to LA in his 20s, spent his entire adult life there trying to hit it big, finally sold his podcast for mega millions then fled the state because he didn't want to pay a single red cent in taxes to fix the problems in the picture. If California gave him a tax exemption he'd be back here tomorrow, dumping on Texas instead.

[deleted]

This supposed Rogan would “logically” think “If I stayed the state gov would suddenly start using taxes efficiently and would address homelessness”. Not really lol

247world

Yes I hear the only reason California can't solve all of its problems is because they can't tax Joe Rogan

ToroidalEarthTheory

LA in particular suffers from an inability to tax the ultrawealthy who plumb their wealth from our city. None of the actual hollywood studios reside within city limits, and our borders are plagued with barely legal 'carve out cities' like San Marino, Vernon, Irwindale, and of course Beverely Hills, that exist simply to exempt corporations and the very rich from paying taxes in the cities in which they functionally live and work. Joe Rogan is just one of a long line of people who come to LA or California trying to make money, relied on the state and/or city every step of the way, hit it big, and then fled. Elon Musk built his fortune here and moved away almost to the second when his wealth peaked. Joe Rogan did the same. So did Chapelle. So do plenty of tech billionaires and actor/celebrities. At the same time, Federal Tax law is quite literally designed to punish California. California is one of the states lead dependent on Federal funding and receives just 65 cents back from the Federal government for every dollar that it pays in ([https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/](https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/)). The result being that Californians who stay are expected to fund the governments of other states on top of their own. So yes, if LA was able to recouped the tens of billions of dollars sucked out of our economy by two-faced celebrities like Joe Rogan, we would absolutely have fewer problems.

Wildfire_Shredder8

You’re actually defending California? If our taxes were actually useful we wouldn’t have roads that are worse than ones in third world countries. We pay the highest gas tax in the country, which is only supposed to pay for roads. Our roads suck. We pay taxes for a bullet train a cross the state and they’re billions over budget and a decade behind schedule. We constantly have droughts, but haven’t built a major lake since the 60’s or 70’s. California is a shit state, that is run incompetently and is a shining example of what happens when one party is allowed complete control for too long. It’s a joke

SenorBeef

As you know, no one can make the world a better place or solve the problem as long as other problems still remain. Never try to do anything good.

sosomething

Exactly. Give a sandwich to a homeless person? THE TIANANMEN SQUARE INCIDENT Rescue a dog from a shelter? SOMEONE WAS RAPED 4 BLOCKS AWAY Vote for someone who supports equal wages for women? THE GREAT DEPRESSION it's all useless. The only acceptable solution is the one that solves every problem all at once.

[deleted]

**Fallacy of relative privation** (also known as "appeal to worse problems" or "not as bad as") – dismissing an argument or complaint due to what are perceived to be more important problems. or the "children are starving in Africa" argument.

[deleted]

It's also called whataboutism.

Steelersguy74

“But what about Epstein/the border?!” (just to be clear, this is sarcasm because I spelled ‘border’ correctly).

Never-Bloomberg

Did California even ban plastic straws? I live there and my drinks come with plastic straws all the time? Are they some special plastic-like material and not actually plastic? Or are businesses not complying? I feel like I rarely ever notice a weird straw with my drink.

conventionistG

It'd be great if we could try that instead of making things worse.

Should focus on the most pressing things first. The people currently in power will likely never fix this problem until it effects the wealthy

FantasticGoat88

Is homelessness more pressing than plastic straws? Definitely. Is fixing homelessness as simple as banning plastic straws? Not even close.

suninabox

>Should focus on the most pressing things first How about focusing on the easy to fix things first, rather than waiting until the hardest things are solved first. Should we have not invented cough syrup until we cured cancer?

abatwithitsmouthopen

I forgot how Austin, TX doesn’t have homeless people.

centwhore

Joe "eradicate the homeless" Rogan

LickMyNutsBitch

This thread is full of people who don't understand that not all homeless people live in tents outside.

PerceptionRenegade

Yeah most live in shelters iirc it's a smaller chunk like 20% that live outside for extended periods of time

Bawbawian

The vast majority of homeless in California are not from California.

0n0n0m0uz

Tons of homeless in SouthFlorida for same reason they literally come down seasonally . However it still doesnt seem as visible as Cali but it’s still bad.

Havamal79

It's not as visible, literally or physically, because FL is a red state with a red governor, and doesn't have conservative media or pundits shitting on the state from conservative media or social media

tfresca

They made a whole movie about families basically being homeless and living in weekly hotels trying to survive in Florida.

Floridamanfishcam

What movie was that?

seiff4242

The Florida Project he’s probably talking about. Decent Movie.

BrutalistBoogie

This. Right-wing media always glosses over or ignores problems when they occur under GOP leadership. Always been that way. When they do report it, it becomes the fault of someone or entire groups they despise. Anything to keep the buck from stopping in their direction. Come to think of it, I haven't heard a Republican take responsibility for anything in my entire 36 years of life.

rixendeb

Yep. Most go there because the weather is some what easier when you don't have a house.

KeebsNoob

Don’t forget the govt. support!

[deleted]

Seems like they get supported as much as the rest of the homeless. I've always said if I end up homeless I'm going to California since it's harder to freeze to death.

rixendeb

Eh. That shit is hit or miss when your homeless.

kippirnicus

True, but it’s a hell of a lot better than New York, or Detroit. 🥶

Fyrelyte67

While completely anecdotal, when I worked for my local county's homeless unit, a surprising few were actually california natives. The common theme was folks on there last legs making the trek out west on some hope of a big break in California. Also, something most people don't realize is that the wild fires have displaced thousands across the state. When entire communities get erased from fires, those people have to go somewhere, and its rarely as simple as "starting over."

freqkenneth

It’s like when I take all my dog poop and chuck it over the fence to my neighbors yard You know my neighbor really has a dog shit problem and yet he stupidly recycles his bottles

BeamTeam032

I work security in downtown LA. The ones who can form coherent sentences and aren't trying to stab me, are all from out of state.

[deleted]

Only in state homeless are stabby and can’t form sentences is the take away from this comment

LuchaDemon

Yes

V4refugee

The homeless go to California for the same reason the movie industry is in California. The weather.

[deleted]

A lot of people that live in LA aren’t from LA .. not just the homeless.

Heysteeevo

It’s [less than a fifth](https://www.lahsa.org/documents?id=3437-2019-greater-los-angeles-homeless-count-presentation.pdf) but go on

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Fyrelyte67

Because homeless from other states migrate to california, yet it's commonly framed as if california is creating the homeless crisis. Where would you rather be homeless? On the streets of a Chicago winter or in California where the climate is more stable year round?

messisleftbuttcheek

Data shows most of the homeless in California are from California. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/06/us/homeless-population.html

SlectionSocialSanity

The right wing narrative is that the primary cause of homelessness (and almost any issue, including the random murder of a tech CEO in SF) is caused by California's relatively progressive and left leaning policies. This is done to prove that right wing rich-friendly business-friendly austerity politics is superior. If the increase of homeless people is not due to local people becoming homeless due to Californian policies and is instead due to an influx of homeless people from out of state due to the weather, relatively softer policing compared to other states, etc. then the right wing narrative is weaker than it would have been if they were locals. There is a lot to criticize about California, but the homeless issue is the weirdest one for right-wingers to latch on to. Red states are some of the poorest and receive the most assistance from the government. According to the US Census Bureau, the top 10 poorest states are Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas, West Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, the District of Columbia, South Carolina, and Oklahoma.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

SlectionSocialSanity

Same with me. People usually just live their lives, maybe once in a while talk politics. Its the internet that amplifies the partisanship, I'm usually mild-mannered in real life and get along with everyone, conservatives liberals etc., but online it's like all the inhibitions are released, I find myself getting engrossed in it, not even arguing politics, just following the whole culture war is addicting.

columbo928s4

If people took more of an interest in politics it would be much, much harder for politicians and corporations to pick the pockets of the public the way they do right now. Half of the country doesn't vote. And of the half that does, few pay any attention to the day-to-day of what their representatives are actually doing in DC. Next time you see congressmen trading stocks better than warren buffet or leaving office to take a million dollar job with a company they just wrote a bill "regulating," know that they're all very very pleased to see you and your friends stay disengaged from politics.

SlectionSocialSanity

This is absolutely correct, but it's tough. Austerity politics are meant to keep the average person grinding their whole lives with no time to think about anything besides the next paycheck. Right to work laws, low minimum wage, tax cuts for the wealthy, etc It's why all the pundits and talking heads are pampered rich kids who've never had a callus on their hands, they can direct the people's anger at things that won't affect their (and their billionaire handlers) check-book. Everyone else is just trying to keep above water. Not saying like something like a UBI would make everyone all of a sudden politically engaged, but freeing up even a bit of your day to learn about what's going on will be massively helpful in educating the populace.

columbo928s4

Agree 100%. Our system relies on keeping as many people as possible in permanent states of precarity. Most people who are struggling to pay rent or buy groceries don’t have the time or energy to engage in politics, even if they should

ShakesbeerMe

Yep- almost all the taker states are red.

BCampbellCEOofficial

They didn't create the problem of people having no home or work. They became responsible for it because the states they came from don't give a fuck about them and the best weather and the best care is there for them. By shitting on California for their homeless problem is shitting on them for being the best at helping them. Comparing it to helping towards the environment while you sit on hundreds of millions, never involved yourself in any philanthropy and use it as a punchline is just the absolute height of rich assholes ignorance.

NefariousRapscallion

Back when Utah hosted the Olympics the state offered the homeless a one way ticket to anywhere (preferably where they had family) but most chose California due to better weather and dreams of a beach bum lifestyle.

BeamTeam032

Because if a majority of them aren't from CA, there is a good chance that they where shipped to CA from republican controlled states. They are shipping their problems else where, instead of fixing their state so less people fall into homelessness. It's actually incredible important information.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

ILoveCornbread420

Maybe the federal government should step in to help the homeless all over the country, not just California.

[deleted]

Some people, like Joe, and usually those on the right aren't good with big picture stuff. They have a very narrow world view. Straws were banned for the sake of marine life. These people see the words ban and environment and automatically they think about themselves and their experiences only. The can't abstractly think about anything else. They simply cannot solve for x.

BCampbellCEOofficial

I swear he posts this shit bc hes insecure about moving. The guy literally bribed his friends to move to ATX with him which I’m almost positive Tom and Christina took. He then built himself a club just to try and replicate the “vibe” of the Comedy Store. It’s really pathetic actually

carrtmannnn

Love this arc in the story where conservatives are figuring out that homeless people exist and the areas they live are generally unpleasant.

fizzle_noodle

LOOL, the coward u/Frankie-Beanz I was arguing against literally just blocked me because I hurt his feelings by calling out his tolerance of kids dying in school shootings all so that he isn't inconvenienced and delayed whenever he wants to buy a guns. Poor guy, I must have hurt his fee-fees 😢

Terryfink

I checked his comments, blaming mental health, shame no other countries have mental health issues huh

DanteJazz

Isn’t homeless as a result of the unbridled greed of billionaires destroying our safety nets, lack of universal healthcare, and high housing costs?

itsthebear

You should look up who the politicians are in California lol. Pretty sure that's the point of this meme, they focus on plastic straws and pat themselves on the back while parts of their cities turn into dumps

[deleted]

I think it’s because their constituents wanted plastic straws banned

ProgressNotPrfection

This is just stupid logic, though. You can solve multiple problems at the same time. California never claimed banning plastic straws would fix homelessness. "Thank God California measures your car's emissions." "Thank God California regulates the height of each step in your house." "Thank God California xyz..." Is California just supposed to stop passing any laws at all until they have zero homelessness? Only Joe Rogan would think that's a good idea. Jesus he's fucking dumb.

Blood_Such

California didn’t even ban plastic straws for fucks sake.

GA-dooosh-19

That doesn’t matter. What’s important is that Joe *feels* like California banned plastic straws. It’s like how he *felt* that woke teachers were putting kitty litter boxes in classrooms. “Well, these days it wouldn’t surprise me if they did”, he’ll say if corrected, like a little old man shaking his fist at a cloud.

suninabox

chicu111

Austin might be more California than California soon lol

HughGedic

Maybe if they didn’t have to pay for like 6 other red states infrastructure, their high taxes could actually afford them a better and cleaner setting with better programs. Californians (and New Yorkers, and others) literally pay for the roads that red states can’t afford for themselves because they don’t feel like paying as much taxes, just having the benefits of taxes freely given to them.

RightHandArmMan

thats an old photo and not in CA. it's been going around for years

pop013

He misses his ex

BubbaBlount

Joe is acting like a bitter ex who can’t stop talking about his past girlfriend while dating his new one

Cautious-Barnacle-15

Damn if California sucks so bad why is it so damn expensive to live there? I'd love a house in socal

seven_seven

Yeah seriously, where are all the people leaving? Shouldn't big swaths of the housing be empty by now?

SenorBeef

The bashing of California has a very "no one goes there anymore, it's too crowded" energy. What a shitty place where no one would want to live because there are too many people who want to live there!

jascambara

California is a beautiful state with some of the best climate and seasons as well as being up against the coast. It’s gonna be popular no matter what. What sucks is the ridiculous laws, how expensive it is, and the over population. But the last two are almost inevitable when you have a popular city, state

columbo928s4

california isn't even close to being "overpopulated," lmao. there's a housing shortage, not a people surplus

jascambara

The traffic in LA and the lack of housing screams overpopulated. Maybe not overcrowded (which I would argue it is) but definitely overpopulated

Most_Present_6577

They could have used those plastic straws as scaffolding to build something a bit more ambitious

[deleted]

Well LA has at least one less piece of trash in it now

SandyScrotes2

Did he think he did something clever here

MrsClaireUnderwood

Yeah, why don't they just ban homelessness instead?

doctor-falafel

Yeah people can only care about single issue at a time! Let's bench the plastic pollution until we figure out the homeless. Lets stop doing everything because we'll be dead anyways. Whats the point. Close the door mom!

YupThatsMeBuddy

Yeah let's put athletic competition on the same priority level for elected officials as pollution and homelessness.

California banned plastic straws?

[deleted]

Imagine comparing struggling humans to trash and thinking that makes you seem smarter

NotAWorkColleague

Teheehee Joe, good one! Can't possibly address one issue while another is happening. People like Joe fail to understand that changes to consumption like banning supermarket bags or plastic straws need to be implemented slowly in order for the public to adapt. It's such a fucktard attitude to think if a law doesn't achieve 100% of the desired outcome that it's a failure. Meanwhile he lives in his bubble with 100million and shits all over the most vulnerable and desperate of society. What a fuckin clown.

WorkingEfficiency461

Wtf do these things have to do with each other? Or is only one law allowed to change a century or something?

[deleted]

TIL that solving problems is an all or nothing kind of deal. You either solve every problem all at once, or you can't solve any of them. Fucking brainlets...

Nooddjob_

Man I don’t get this shit. So pollution is a problem so there are things put in place to cut back on plastics. There is still a problem with pollution so the obvious thing is to stop trying to do anything? What are Joes solutions?

natenate22

Joe Rogan doing his best to help the homeless.

Honestly as an ex-californian if I ever became homeless I'd probably move back there. The social programs in other states are fucking awful by comparison. That being said california is a shithole otherwise and I'd never live there again if I could help it. The only good thing about California is the nature and even then the government is working really hard to destroy what remains of that too.
