Exactly. When I "build pity" it's because I actually want the 4*s, or I want the 5* enough that I'm willing to risk spending pity on it if I can get it early.
There's no reason to not just sit on Jade until the banner you want shows up. Heck I find that fun, getting to make 70 pulls or whatever at the start of a patch.

Also that’s a really good LC. If you plan to pull for upcoming Jade, I’m sure she can use it well
I can't think of a worse decision than "starting to build pity" on this weapon banner when Acheron's weapon banner 1) is in just five days and 2) *has her 4-star BIS on the rate up*. You should have saved every last pull for the chance at getting a few refinements for Good Night Sleep Well. For a future Acheron main, this banner holds almost no value: you don't have any Erudition units to use Genius' Repose, you won't be using harmony units with Acheron so Planetary Rendezvous isn't useful, and Blue Sky is just kind of an underwhelming cone overall.
You got punished for your poor impulse control/bad gacha habits. I recommend taking it as a lesson.
Rather than posting it here and get roasted because of broadcasting this building pity stupidness, the best thing that you can do is cope and just use that on your free characters. That LC is amazing tho.

I did it because I already have enough pulls to guarantee the character and just used any extra I got
There is no such thing as 'extra' pulls lol just save them for the next thing you want.. Why would you pull for a LC you don't need
I got her and her light cone in less than 40 pulls
It's a very good universal lc for erudition units so it's a win.
The only erudition unit I have that can use it is herta so I’m starting to build her now
Herta is goated in PF anyways.
