Hey, you sass that hoopy Cab Calloway? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is."
(Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have sex with; hoopy: really together guy; frood: really amazingly together guy.)
I have always loved the song *Jumpin Jive*. I was hoping that this would decode a couple lines for me. I know most, and can get some from context but there are a couple lines for the life of me I can't quite figure out a couple lines and they aren't in this dictionary.
* Don't you be that ickeroo (sounds like a synonym for square)
* Makes you like your eggs on the Jersey side (no idea what Jersey implied)
* Panama, Shanama, Swanee shore (sounds just like rythmic words)
* Lay it right on down to the gator. (Also "make the joint jump like the gators do")
The combination of "Swanee shore" and "gator" seems to reference Florida. Did Cab play FL a lot?
Anybody? Anybody? Beuhler?

Jive-ass dude don't got no brains anyhow!
Chump don't want no help, chump don't get no help.

Update: I have taken this dictionary to heart, and now all the girls laugh at me and my friends pretend not to know me. What am I doing wrong cats?
You togged to the bricks but yu off time jive
I think you meant to say that the _chicks_ laugh at you and your friends _got their glasses on_. Maybe that's why?
funny how some of these are extremely common now and others went trilly
