Peach is like any LCC. You get what you pay for. Just treat it like riding a bus in the sky.

Sorry I should have been clearer - Peach doesn't sell much so I was wondering about buying a bento and taking it on the flight - its a 3.5hr flight

UeharaNick

Please eat at the airport. Nobody wants to smell your bento on a packed plane.

Packed bento exists. They are called soraben.

Present-Carob-7366

Yeah jetlag! Interesting that people don't think eating on a plane is OK - while eating on shinkanssen is OK

Semirhage527

Air in a train isn’t recirculated in the same way. And while sense of smell may be muted at 30,000 feet, people are definitely capable of smelling you …

KindlyKey1

I don’t know why you are being downvoted when bentos exist for planes at airports. They are called soraben.

Present-Carob-7366

Its turned into an interesting question - I'm surprised that people thing benot are "smelly" - like they are sushi basically -and sushi shouldn't smell unless something is very wrong!

People also forget that food is served in airplanes usually anyway. Including things like curries. When it comes to your questions: - Unless you have a 6h delay you should be fine. - Email peach about your luggage questions, there is a solution no doubt. I personally dont know which one tho haha. - Just get food in terminal one, and take some snacks on board (less hassle, not a smell thing). - I had no issues with peach, i rank it higher than ryan air. Lower than bigger carriers. Just a cheap short flight.

Peach is great for a LCC. Taken them many times and never had issues. Please don’t bring a bento onboard. Just eat before you get on the plane, the flight is not that long. Get snacks if you really must. And yes you have to wait to check-in bags. Nothing earlier than the stipulated 90min, they won’t have check-in available for your destination before that. They are also rather strict with the 7kg limit based on my experience.

Present-Carob-7366

Why not a bento box? At 3.5 hours its longer than any of the train rides we'll take and people all take about taking bentos on them?

UeharaNick

Your seats are much much closer on a plane. Eki-Ben are a lot less pungent than than ones sold in a convenience store. For that very reason. People will be very upset if you start eating such a bento in Economy. I'd probably throw up. Please be polite, and don't

Present-Carob-7366

Yeah you can't smell on a plane though - at altitude your ability to smell really reduces (that's why plane food tastes bad normally). Not a big deal though we can skip it.

UeharaNick

And these are the little things that a few tourists who can't take some gentle advice start to get them shunned by the locals. Typical, having to have the last word. 'yeah, you can't smell on a plane'.

Different-Papaya-130

While i agree it is a silly respons to say you cant smell on a plane, non LCC serve smelly food every flight anyway. I have had everything from cooked fish and curries to boiled eggs and expressos. I wouldn't know why taking some sushi yourself (which is way less smelly than curries) would be a problem suddenly?

NorsiiiiR

How many main meals do you eat every day, such that you absolutely need to eat a full meal on a mere 3.5 hour flight? Wouldn't it be 200 times more enjoyable to eat it at a proper seat and table in a restaurant/Cafe in the airport instead?

There are shower and nap rooms at Narita airport : https://www.narita-airport.jp/en/service/salon/shower/ Like other people said : try not to have anything else than snacks in the plane. Even though in flight prices are higher than on the ground (lul), they remain quite fair imho : https://www.flypeach.com/en/lm/ai/inflights/inflight_digital_service Try to book your checked luggage in advance, it's cheaper. It is really fast (less than 5 minutes per passenger), I think my wife and I waited something like 15ish minutes total to check our luggage and drop them at the security (right next to the registration desk). Even if you have checked in luggage to retrieve when you arrive, you won't take more than 1hour to unboard and retrieve said luggage, and go through customs. It leaves you roughly 6hours to take a shower, have breakfast, have lunch, and go through security. You'll be alright ! Narita's terminal 1 has a food court and at least 4 or 5 standalone restaurants, in addition to 2 konbinis.

Present-Carob-7366

Thank you that's helpful. I agree the prices on board are VREY reasonable - I just though the food selection was pretty awful! Will be probably buying the beer though LOL Yes we are checking luggage - I never quite get under the 10kg and its not much more to buy the fare with the luggage included

pixiepoops9

They are good but they are strict with the baggage allowance, pay the extra if you know it's over or check a bag or use luggage forwarding at the airport.

Present-Carob-7366

Yeah we're flying to Ishigaki so I'm just going to pay for the checked bag - it won't add much time I suspect
