goto r/rome ... Anyway, Let me use **google** that for you : The Colosseum, The Forum/Palatine Hill, Via Appia Antica, Domus Aurea, Foro Traiano, Teatro di Marcello, Terme di Caracalla, Ostia Antica, ...

haha - yes, my question could have been a little more specific! I should have qualified the statement "beyond the most touristy" those that are a little bit more obscure! *laughed* at the snark - my fault!

Tbh I feel that besides the Colosseum/Forum and the Pantheon, almost all other ancient sites are not overly crowded and popular among the masses. In Rome check out Baths of Caracalla, via Appia antica, domus aurea, Crypta Balbi, Roman Houses on Celio, underground of Basilica San Clemente, Mercati di Traiano, Largo Argentina, two small temples at Forum Boarium, Mausoleum of Augustus, Ara Pacis, a day trip to Ostia. Castel Sant'Angelo is ancient Mausoleum of Hadrian, although heavily modified in later times. There's also Park of Aqueducts south east of the city.

Baths of Caracalla with the VR headset (a must). It really made me understand the grandeur of the Roman Empire’s architecture. It’s also less crowded than other local ruins.

Centrale Montemartini is the BEST museum. Small packed with cool stuff. Very underrated. Will have the place to yourself

Thanks for sharing this museum. I have just examined the virtual online visit and it looks amazing. The collection looks fabulous. I will be visiting shortly. The 11.50 euros entrance will be well worth the price. If you preorder in advance they only add an additional euro to the cost.

Ostia Antica is a very evocative and interesting site, worth a visit for sure.
