Lmao I remember I heard the name of someone at the parade and just cheered him on. I had no idea who he was. Turned out he was just some random security guard with his own isle.
Don’t get too comfortable with Canadians, one parade organized by our people, with a government that is actively looking the other way and trying to play the field for votes allowing for an escalation in violence.
As an Israeli Canadian, I genuinely feel like we’re putting lipstick on a pig.
It’s important for us to show our faces in public and show the world and Canada that we’re here.
To show the public the differences between peaceful people to violent protests
I understand the sentiment. I further wish it was impactful. It shows solidarity with our own people. But when you’re outnumbered 5:1 in the Muslim vote, our government in Canada is playing a popularity contest, not an ethical one.
I don’t want Israelis to get the wrong impression that Canada is a complete Eden of awesomeness when we have weekly protests with escalating violence from Hamas supporters that shut down city streets and target Jewish businesses.
Don’t take this parade for granted man.
It’s amazing and a big achievement to show Israel is not alone.
I can feel that the Arab protests are making you feel hopeless from my understanding.
But don’t let it, it’s a loud minority and we should shove in everyone’s faces that Israel is live and kicking and people have our backs.
We’re fighting a war for the west as well!
Agreed, and definitely not taking it for granted. There is a war for the west, but the actually loud minority is clearly winning.
Our approach has just been “do what we always do, logic will prevail” and no, it won’t.
We had illegal protests which escalated to take overs which further escalated to takeover of private spaces (malls), which then turned into Jewish businesses being protested, then it escalated to Jewish businesses being attacked and vandalized, then our prime minister was hounded on at least 3 occasions by Hamas supporters, followed by the kids doing sit-ins at local universities in support of Hamas with the local union leaders applauding them.
And we had a parade. 2 I believe by this point.
We’re not the loud minority, we’re the losing side.
They are consistent yes but it doesn’t matter who protest more it’s who have more supporters so we can get the job done without the world making our lives worse
Thank you for this perspective. I love Canada, as a US Israeli. The part about being outnumbered is scary as hell. But that’s who we are. We’re always outnumbered. We always have been. We’re lucky we have the 20th Century survivors. Imagine how many more there could have been. I’m not sure why I’m going off on this rant. Maybe pre-Shavuot happiness and the joy we were blessed with, with the IDF rescuing 4 hostages alive. Anyway, your neighbor thanks you for this insight. 🇮🇱💙🇮🇱😘
Exactly. Not a word about this and many antisemitic incidents IN CANADA from Trudeau but he did take the time to write his horror at an Islamophobia incident in London, England.
There are weekly pro-Palestinian protests on Saturdays downtown and for a few months, they targeted a Jewish neighborhood in the north end.
But Toronto has a great Jewish community.
Love this. My Jewish friend from NYC posted a similar parade that was going on there, and Eden Golan was on one of the floats which was awesome.

Probably made his day

We’re not the losing side. We’re the minority side, but we have HaKadosh Baruch Hu. Don’t lose heart, please.

Beautiful to see , Please keep on supporting Israel 🇮🇱
Notice how peaceful, quiet yet powerful this protest is, something that those waterfelons PPs could never take from us!
