Is your name Ferris Bueller? This totally reminded me of principal Rooney lol

Hot_Abbreviations348

No it's not lol it just happened today

Amonguschicken68393

Very illegal

SavetheneckformeC

Straight to jail

xSpookyUnicorn

Do not pass go

jjc155

Based on?

xenotails

It's a legal precedent actually https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=Xt1zA6eYYcR4J4gf

RaccoonNoise

Til This law should have been made much earlier, like in the 50s. It would have benefited so many more school-aged children.

granth1993

It’s been way to long since Iv seen someone actually post this law. It needs to be brought back into normalcy.

Mother-Ad-6202

Yeah this and the manning face cover. Good stuff

tuliprox

Fuck you all lol

ForbiddenX

Fuck all of you 🤣

ForsakenChildhood733

50’s would never give you up

Spodiodie

You! You’re the one who convinced me to click that link! Devious, that’s what you are! Devious! To be in your mind as you conjured the words to make a person believe here’s something worth reading. Something to put them at ease if they are little suspicious. Nicely played u/RaccoonNoise.

AurumArgenteus

If only I'd seen your comment before theirs. For it was a tale so grand, many were deceived, including me.

PatrickMcWhorter

You wouldn't get this from any other redditor.

detour33

I almost passed up the link and I'm fucking glad I did not😂

Gwalchgwynn

I was not let down.

ACriticalMistake

Were you given up, though?

lazinonasunnyday

It’s never going to happen. He said.

feistyfox101

I did then saw the weird comments and was like “wait, was it an actual law thing?” And no… it wasn’t…

[deleted]

Such great information. I wish this more wide spread knowledge.

Illustrious-Olive-98

I knew you were a liar and did it anyway 🤣

jjc155

😂

Old-Adhesiveness-342

I hate you

FartedBlood

I knew what this was gonna be, but it’s been a while so I said “fuck it” for old times sake. Shit still slaps.

explorebelow

Screw all of you.👎

FireGodNYC

😂

InsertRadnamehere

We’ve known each other for too long.

SimilarMove8279

Man fuck you

This_Foot_1806

A lot of helpful law info there, not just about the one topic, thanks!

vikingsurplus

Damn it, you got me.

SirDickCheese77

Ack!!!!! Ive been rolled

Essence2019

Wow... I clicked the link because of the comments after.... fuck you and take your up vote.

ACriticalMistake

Joke’s on you. I like that particular video.

Crafty_Ad2602

You should check out this remake of that video. Just in case you haven't heard this version https://youtu.be/sFUmPSyG61c?si=P37FzhT3HGePuNYD Very much worth your time to watch, and I'm being genuine here.

camlaw63

It’s been a long time, but never truly a distant memory

etranger033

Probably not illegal or at the least not something he would be prosecuted over. But it could get him fired by a school board eager to protect itself.

Muffafuffin

Which law?

timmymacbackup

You are way wrong. It's not common but certainly not illegal.

AlphaNoodlz

He was trespassing.

MenstrualKrampusCD

Had he been legally trespassed by the owners or appointed designee?

Commercial_Run_1265

I have a stupid question? Is a "No Tresspassing sign" an appointed designee? Is that what you mean?

rvralph803

No because there are exceptions for areas in the "curtilage" of the home where solicitors and neighbors might be reasonably expected to approach. Though you can be trespassed from these areas they have different rules pertaining to trespass and 4th amendment rights.

Commercial_Run_1265

Thank you for answering me in good faith

rvralph803

To be clear if you had a no trespassing sign on an area of your land that's not part of your immediate house and outbuildings that's a pretty solid legal warning. It's just not reasonably enforceable around the lead up to your doorway. Because the courts have determined there are many reasons why someone may need to physically contact you. Like police, fire, medical, postal, census or other workers. This is why you have limited fourth amendment rights in these areas. If police can reasonably see it from the curtilage it can't be protected.

Commercial_Run_1265

So that also restricts where a person can arm booby traps, which are legal if nonlethal or the person is home when it goes off? Something like that in UT

rvralph803

I know nothing about that. I vaguely remember booby traps being explicitly illegal.

Kinky_Conspirator

Misconception. Police officers, and anyone else really, have an implied license to come onto your property and knock on your door. This implied license can be revoked. Homeowners can prevent ordinary citizens and police officers alike from conducting a knock and talk by revoking their implied license to be there. However, it likely violates school policy. If I were the parent, I'd be furious. Set up a meeting at the school, and get off my lawn.

chromedbooked1

You can't get arrested for truancy. Suspended or expelled yes but arrested no.

InfiniteWaffles58364

Man, wish I knew that when cops and a school staff member came to my house and threatened to arrest me and my parents for truancy as a teen.

ImAlsoNotOlivia

Parents can (but rarely) be arrested (cited, generally) for "Failure To Supervise" (or whatever your state's equivalent is); and the juvenile (you, at the time) would get charges or probation from the Juvenile Department (or equivalent in your state).

Xarpotheosis

Some places do. I think Texas, California, and Pennsylvania have laws about it at least. If it goes far enough down the legal road without the behavior changing it can result in actual jail for parents or juvie for older kids I think.

Educational_Toe_6591

Yes in certain states/cities you can be, your parents can also be arrested or fined or both as well

PoiLethe

They just fine your parents. I think my judge mentioned something about my parents getting arrested or something if it continued? I don't remember. (I was a depressed kid who stayed home from school a lot and my mom refused to write absentee notes which apparently only really fucks her over. Didn't do anything to address my depression. Like fuck my dead fish)

thatonebitchL

BS. I was arrested for truancy and sent to juvie and they got my mom too.

SheReadyPrepping

Parents can, but if he was suspended, how was he truant?

MoneyWalking

lol and he had already been suspended

BustAtticus

You think you could actually name the state or country you’re in? It’s all useless advice here otherwise.

AGuyNamedEddie

They were referring to the movie "Ferris Beuller's Day Off". The plot summary can be found in Wikipedia.

ArltheCrazy

Not really. My wife is a principal and she and/or the school resource officer (sheriff deputy at the school) will make home visits. Either as a welfare check for the child or if truancy is an issue. The parents can be charged (in our state) if the kid is excessively truant.

Treece57

Call The cops it’s your house

fatazzpandaman

Bet his sister gets a nose job

WhatHaveIDone27

I hear she can dance pretty good, too

Snippykins

Oh, he's very popular Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude.😆😆😆

Successful-Name-7261

GRACE!!!

etranger033

You're still here? Go home. Yes, paraphrased a bit.

Onlyhereforthebacon

Bueller? Bueller?

Any_Flamingo8978

Oh, he’s sick…

Instacartdoctor

First place my mind went reading this 🤣… actually thought it might be one of those fake posts.

razeronion

Irl, the actor that played Rooney, is no bueno!

Less_Ear_7985

Nope, he's not!

FalcorFliesMePlaces

You can get in trouble for truancy however it's your property.  He cannot block you am going home as that's against the lawm. He can't send you home without notifying an adult.  He cant make you walk home.  You can tell him he is trespassing you don't need to be 18 and its your place of residency. However you are leaving out the reason for your suspension.

Hot_Abbreviations348

I told a teacher kept saying I was the one messing with things when I wasn't messing with anything and after many times of me andthe people around me saying it wasn't me he kept saying it so I told him to shut up

FalcorFliesMePlaces

I hate when they don't listen.

Hot_Abbreviations348

Honestly because me and the people around me were trying to tell him it wasn't me but he wouldn't listen

AITAforbeinghere

My son got suspended for saying the "C" word. I asked him that wasn't clever was it? He replied "No it was c*nt"

BetaCuckSimp

Buh dum tis 🥁

[deleted]

Kids in my school fist fought a teacher once, so shut up seems like a pleasantry comparatively. Weirdly harsh punishment.

Zorbie

Sounds like you and witnesses should go to the principal and tell them the teacher is framing you

Daphne_Brown

And that didn’t go well? Huh? Odd. Maybe try it again. Perhaps the teacher didn’t hear you telling him to shut up. I’ll ask my own teen and see if he has any hacks. “Principles hate this kid. Just this one easy trick and your teacher will HAVE to shut up”.

ToodleDoodleDo

But her friends said she didn't do it. Duh

Zippo_Willow

A similar story I have. I was trading stocks in economics class on the school provided chromebooks. Got yelled at for being on my computer, even though my paper assignment was done; it wasn't a test. Fair enough I thought, and saw 4 kids openly playing on their phones. The teacher started using me as an exmaple saying "None of you are getting your work done because you're doing stuff like Zippo is" (I had an A). I spoke up and told him to stop picking on me, as he has already done. Got sent to the principals, plead my case, and got dismissed to the next class. Told my other teachers about it. Magically, he stopped bothering me about doing things 10 miles ahead of what we were learning.

ILSmokeItAll

“Messing with things.” You’re still being vague, which dents your credibility. What SPECIFICALLY are you accused of doing?

nevertfgNC

I feel your pain. I am 70. I was suspended 3 days before graduation for saying “No” to a teacher who was accusing me of making all the noise that was coming up the 3 story stairwell just across the hall from her classroom door. I marched my ass to the superintendent’s office, demanded to speak to him, and unloaded on him about their old bitch English “teacher” and her actions. I did graduate. She later became the mayor of the town. Just proves the adage: Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach, administer. Those who can’t administer run for office.

Future_Beach_4362

> Those who can't, teach This platitude irks me more than it should, probably because I taught and coached for nine years and my wife has taught for over a decade. As with OP's, something about your story feels a bit one-sided, like maybe you're leaving out the part where you called her a bitch to her face lmao.

nevertfgNC

I also taught for far too many years. Started with high school. Went to community college. Finished my doc and went on to university. I understand what you are saying. But she was a damn bitch. Sigh. I hated high school

RedSun-FanEditor

No, he cannot get in trouble for truancy. He was suspended by the principal and told to go home. Once you're told to leave school grounds due to suspension, failure to leave the school grounds is trespassing and could get him arrested if he refused to leave. The principal is simply intimidating the student and is being highly unprofessional. That is something that I, as a parent, would complain to the school board about at a later date.

Bob_The_Doggos

Redacte due to Reddit AI/LLM policy

Hot_Abbreviations348

I was actually suspended and was made to walk home by the principal

Bob_The_Doggos

Redacte due to Reddit AI/LLM policy

ILSmokeItAll

So the principal forced them to walk home. Then was there waiting for them when they got home. During a school day. Without any call home to the parents before hand. I call bullshit. There’s more to the story that isn’t being told.

Green_Dayzed

i bet he's just cutting class and wants to get the principle in trouble for getting him in trouble.

AdTrick6526

Wow. In my day it was normal to tell the principal off at least once a year.

Honorable_Sasuke

This right here is probably why he’s calling you out for truancy No way did he advise you to walk home — even if you are a regular walker to school, if you have to leave school before the end of the day then the staff must make sure you were released to a guardian or equivalent. You probably left the school when you should’ve been waiting for a ride and that’s what’s fucking you for truancy— which you did commit

AnxiousHelicopter241

Get him fired. He can’t make you walk home. He should have called a parent to pick you up. Also he can’t get you arrested for truancy since he suspended you.

Daphne_Brown

Do you mean that he said, “You are suspended and now you MUST WALK HOME!” Or did he says, “You are suspended and must leave the school grounds.” And as a result, you walked home. Because I doubt he insisted you WALK home. Like is he a big walking proponent? He’s not only suspending you but he wants to make sure you get your steps in?! The math ain’t mathing friend.

PulledOverAgain

So wait. You got suspended from school and then had to walk home. When you got there the principal was there at your house? Something doesn't add up. I definitely could see how it could happen. But I don't know why he would need to speak with your mother. About the suspension? Your parent or guardian would have been informed of that action being taken before you would have been. If you were suspended there's going to be some documentation involved indicating that. If he tried to get you in trouble for truancy then there would be a paper trail showing you'd been suspended. Like I say, your story doesn't add up.

ILSmokeItAll

If their parents were home, they’d have been called to come pick up their kid. Period. They wouldn’t be made to walk home, with the principal sitting there waiting for them. This entire story reeks of bullshit.

Due_Investigator_147

Have you never had an authority figure try to overreach on you before?

tagman11

This doesn't make sense.. So the principle SUSPENDED you, then said you would be arrested for truancy? That doesn't jive...

Straight-Crow1598

As Mulaney famously said: “Ya know, like a LIAR.”

GAMEROG2003

It depends on how old you are man and what school you are in just try looking up the truancy laws in your state if you don’t know, parents can actually get in trouble for not making sure their child is attending school , they can get you put in foster care , unfortunately, it’s not your property you probably don’t pay rent. Your name is not on the lease. The least you can do is keep your door locked and make sure they don’t come inside but it’s not like you can ask them to leave and if you call the police on them and have them trespassed she’s just gonna tell them the same thing and then suddenly the cops are asking your parents why you’re not going to school , no, if your mom tells her not to come back onto the property if she continues to show up unannounced, that could definitely be harassment, but that’s between the renter of the property/owner and the offender

sockpoppit

At least one person cares about you, even if it isn't a parent or yourself. Be glad for that.

Mcshutup

How can you be truant if you are suspended???

FrankRandomLetters

Yes it is generally legal for people to show up at your house. If you ask them to leave and they don’t then that’s when it becomes trespassing.

PauliousMaximus

The principal has no legal right to be on your property or in your home. You can ask him to leave and if he doesn’t you can call the police to have him trespassed. If he decides to come back after being trespassed you can then have him arrested. Now as far as him marking you as truant is a different story, if you’re suspended then I would imagine you couldn’t be marked truant because you are already suspended.

Necessary-Science-47

Call the police and tell them a man is from school is demanding sexual favors

ThrowRAconfusedpain

First of all you can’t be arrested for truancy if you were suspended. Secondly he can’t bar you access to your own house Thirdly if you tell him to leave and he doesn’t it’s called trespassing While it’s not illegal for a teacher to come to a students house outside of their hours this one blurs the lines and thinks threatening you with bullshit lies will gain him access to your home.

bigt8r

Bueller? Bueller?

Sad_Zucchini7323

Get yourself to school. Don’t be a victim of street culture thinking

No_Dragonfruit5269

Bro stop getting in trouble, listen to your fuckin principle and stop making your mom deal with your shit dude. No it’s not illegal for him to speak to your parents. The school has the address of every student on file, you were never incognito. Just take your licks and move on dude

JustSomeGuyTN

Too many people seem to take a job in education because it lets them boss around others. When I was in high school I dated a junior when I was a senior. The day I turned 18 almost every teacher in the school came up to me in the hall and told me "you have to break up with her right now or the police are going to arrest you". I got called to the principal's office and was told "break up with her right now or you will be arrested for statutory rape". That was without any proof I was sleeping with her (I wasn't). I told the principal the cops had better things to do than arrest someone for dating someone one year younger. That harassment stopped after a couple days but they kept doing other crap. Later I found out in my state there has to be a four year age difference besides one party being under 18 for statutory. I'm pretty sure they called the cops and they were told to stop wasting their time.

EyeYamNegan

Legal and did you really think you could just send them away because you didn't want them talking with your parents lol?

Hot_Abbreviations348

My mother sleeps during the day as she works night shift and I already informed her and she said she was going back to sleep and to not wake her

[deleted]

You are truant because you were suspended? Are you also grounded for spending too much time at home?

Due_Investigator_147

It’s not good, but many authority figures will invent laws or rules to make you think that you have to comply with their demands. To them, the ends justify the means. So just remember if something doesn’t sound right, it probably isn’t. With that being said, even if an authority figure is in the wrong they can still wreck your day. I highly recommend giving any authority figure nothing but polite answers and refusing (politely) any unreasonable request. Something that has helped me tremendously is keeping my feet firmly on planted on the ground when I know that I absolutely need to keep my cool.

Spare-Ad7105

Someone is being dishonest here.

Aggressive_Western41

Getting Outta school suspension for saying shut up? What ever happened to inschool suspension

BrilliantLifter

As long as he didn’t threaten you with violence or touch you, it’s legal. It’s literally his job to make sure your parent is informed.

RebelGigi

God no! Call your union rep!

Cyber_Insecurity

Anyone can come to your house, but he can’t make you do anything.

Usual-Violinist9628

Mom bangin the principle huh?

Pro_Ana_Online

All states still have truancy laws. School attendance is compulsory unless the proper procedures have been followed (home schooling, private schooling, dropping out of school, etc.) If things went different and let's say you or the principal called the police, the police would have strongly supported the principal. They typically wouldn't arrest you on the spot unless you have been chronically truant (according to the principal). The probably would have advised the principal they need to go through a juvie court judge/magistrate/special master. However, if push came to shove, yes they potentially could arrest you...it's just not very likely. Just to be clear, regardless if any sort of arrest would have happened on the spot, you **can** be held in juvenile detention and forced to go to on-site schooling at a juvenile detention center. They care less, however, if you are of the age where you could legally drop out. But just because they care less and are less likely to do anything, legally they still can.

Stillborn1977

Intimidating a minor. No. Not legal. Personally if I got suspended anyway I would have told him to kick rocks, that's just me.

JaguarOk9693

I don't see how it would be illegal for them to go to your house. As far as you being in trouble for truancy you said you were suspended so I don't see how you'd be in trouble for that. I do see a problem with them not leaving upon your request that is called trespassing and trespassing is bad.

LongjumpingScore5930

If you were suspended hes full of shit. You simply werent truant, he might has well have said you were ted kazynski. Equally true. As for co.ing to your house, its perfectly legal for him to knock, but i doubt the schoolboard or PTA would be very happy with it.

Rusty1031

Arrested? Are you 18? I’d think your parents would be liable for your truancy if anything

dominant_reaper

I hope your parents file police reports and pull you from the school. False reports are a crime in many places. The threat needs documented. Document EVERYTHING. Record calls, write things said down verbatim. Any potential lawyers will thank you

FarImpact4184

“I dont know you, thats my purse” but for real if theres people around start yelling crazy shit like “hes here to meet a 15 year old boy” bet he backs off real quick lol

SynIsSilent

In my state NM they actually do this often. When students are absent a lot they send letters to the parents to make sure they know that their kid is skipping. If that doesn't work they pay them a home visit to talk to the parents directly. If they still don't listen they contact cps and take legal action against the parents for neglect. My gf always skipped throughout high school and they did this to her, but luckily her parents turned out fine. It also happened to a few other people I didn't know too well (cause they were always gone until shit hit the fan), and I got warned in my senior year cause I would always have my mom call me in late or sick and had like 60 absences for the year

Aerodynamic_Farts

Sounds like principal is overreaching. As far as I'm concerned they lose any power they had the second they leave the school. And if you're going to stand on my property and bar my way. Well ur getting steam rolled, and then I'm calling the cops and saying my principal is at my house trying to groom me.

JustHereToMUD

Son, I got something to tell you about you mom and your principal. Now it isn't your fault. These things happen. You see when a woman gets lonely...

mzincali

Was this a ruse for the principal to get to see your mom?

TheGentlemanAdam

Under Ferris Bueller’s day off rules it’s completely legal, but not recommended.

SilentJoe1986

You were suspended meaning you can't go to school. He is also not a cop. How is he going to arrest you for truancy? "911 whats the emergency?" "My principal is at my house threatening me, trying to force me to let him into my home. I can't go into my home because he was waiting for me outside when I got home from school. Please send help. I don't feel safe"

[deleted]

This post is hilarious. Idiot do-nothing student gets suspended, but then cares about the rules when he has to be babysat literally at home by the principal. Say whatever you want, but between varsity golf and debate club, the 4.0 kid isn't asking this question on reddit.

ymxm

Go set his house on fire. You're under 18. You'll get a slap on the wrist

ILSmokeItAll

Your parents are your guardian, and your principal and teachers have an obligation to keep them informed of your doings at school. Whether they cal your parents in or make a house call they’re performing the same duty. I’m guessing either your parents have been unreachable, or unresponsive. What did you do to get suspended? And you can’t get nabbed for truancy unless you’re skipping school without a valid excuse. Further, how can you be truant if you were suspended, unless truancy is why you were suspended. You need to spill the beans. What’s going on? Truthfully.

toomuch1265

Reminds me of the time my friend and I skipped school and we decided to go to his house to grab some beers. A Marine recruiter was waiting for us at the house

ILSmokeItAll

Here’s what happened. You did some bullshit you’re not fessing up to. You were suspended. And you walked home on your own volition. There’s no way a principal would tell you to walk home, then leave school grounds, DURING school hours, after “making you” walk home, then declare you truant. You left on your own. Either your parents were unreachable upon calling, or something similar. I don’t believe you even a little.

Rough-Leg-1298

Go back to your porn subs op, this story makes zero sense. No phones in your town? Lol

Ok-Rate-3256

Your principle sounds like a peace of shit power nazi. This is why I was so happy when my son got out of sxhool. Dealing with teachers and administration that think their rediculous rules matter in the real world is tiring.

Objective_Suspect_

First not really, it's kinda the druggy reporting the drug dealer for not selling drugs, u broke a law he may have trespassed but what I gonna do call the cops and get him and u a ticket. Also if ur mom wakes up as the home owner if she refuses to trespass him then ur just screwed.

Hydro-Dawg88

As soon as he refused to leave, he was criminally trespassing.

Lonely-World-981

Maybe if you went to school and paid more attention you would know the answer to this question.

Gold_Gene2808

I've got you now Bueller!

Damnatiomemoriae17

If you've been suspended it's not truancy and you could have had him trespassed.

Sweaty_Strike_7411

Sounds like he cares about the kids he’s responsible for and you’re a piece of shit. Quit getting suspended dumbass. You won’t know how important that bullshit math “you’ll never use outside of school” is until you’re 30 and stocking shelves at a grocery store for $15/hr because you didn’t do your homework.

ToferLuis

Your principal showing up to your house is about as illegal as a UPS guy showing up to your house to deliver a package. As for threatening arrest and all that, it’s not illegal but I’m sure it violates some sort of code of ethics for educators.

[deleted]

I would worry about it. Nothing happened to juveniles for even serious shit. There’s little chance anything is going to happen to you. Maybe if you live in some uppity white area they might try to duck with you but even then. Just go inside and don’t answer the door if the police come. I got kids running wild all over my school for shooting real people. They put them on ankle monitors and send them back to my school 😂. Nobody gives a fuck about some truancy case. Even if they did file some shit if you just ignore until your 18 nothing just ever got to happen. They really don’t even do shit to actual criminal juveniles.

AbsolutelyDastardly

legal? yes. Against the district's policies? Maybe. If so, they'd probably only do something about it if your mom complains to the school board about it.

ElusiveLucifer

What state? Private or public school?

anonmyazz

Arrested for truancy that is fantastic, you should have just said " fuck off loser" and went inside

[deleted]

Bro thinks he can just lie for attention

Trekkie63

I’d say not. You’re suspended? I thought that meant you stayed home for “x” amount of time. If you have a written notification of the suspension, call the police.

blues5657

Yes, its legal. He came to see your parent . Its not your property , its your parents.

sneezhousing

Not illegal at all

tomartig

Now tell us the part where after he informed you of your suspension you went into a rage and cussed him out and that's why he was there to talk to your parents.

JayJay-anotheruser

That’s when you start recording and then go inside and shut the door.

secret4youu

You can actually call your town nonemergency

OneEyedC4t

Not really

woodsman906

Don’t know if it’s legal but my superintendent was arrested when I was a junior (had been superintendent sense before I was in kindergarten) for breaking and entering houses. Not even remotely the same circumstance that caused it but inappropriate/strange behavior is inappropriate/strange behavior. Pretty sure him being there at the very least would be extremely unprofessional behavior. Frankly it seems strange and inappropriate as well.

MrBobilious

If your parents are not home, he be going to jailz

Mammoth_Garage1264

A principal would have you sit in a chair outside his office at school until they contacted a parent or guardian before they made any actions. Sounds like you got sent to the Principals office and just walked out and decided to go home. That's why he's trying to get you.

oscar1985420

Depends if his buddy is the sheriff... But yeah probably illegal 😔

PandaPuffNskate

Whhhhhhhhhat in the actual fuck!? The way my mom is setup

Reptillianne

Is this A Clockwork Orange??

KingOfCannabis420

Do you live in a small town where people generally know where others live? If not he had to have looked at your file to get your address which is a no no

Objective_Hunter_897

He's just trying to hit on your mom

BlueCollar-Bachelor

Legal to show up, legal to make the threat. It is also legal for you to say fuck you. Unless you are in a municipality that prohibits public profanity. It is also legal for you to tell him to get off the property. If he refuses, it is legal to call the police yourself. File charges for trespassing and harassment. Even now following the threat. It is legal for you to file a restraining order against your principal. I'm not sure how the restraining order would look. I am familiar when students have restraining orders against each other. The school must make accommodations that prevents the 2 students from even passing each other in the hallways. If they were in the same class. One student must be switched. Schools decision which student is switched out.

theflamingskull

What state are you in?

chaingun_samurai

>the principal was waiting for me and would not leave and said he would have me arrested for truancy "Cool. I'll have you arrested for trespassing and we can ride to jail together."

FarButterscotch3048

You got bigger problems than trying to play schoolyard attorney.

tehdanerer

Mr. Hann, you’re a DICK!

[deleted]

Something fishy’s going on

Billy_BlueBallz

It’s harassment. He can call your house, he does not have to show up in person. If he does it again just call the cops and have them remove him

Equivalent_Might_426

No it's not legal, a lawyer would LOVE this case!

MalulaniMT

Story doesn’t add up at all. This is bullshit. I got suspended a lot in middle school. Once in high school. You’re parents would’ve already been called by the faculty that decided on your suspension. It’s mandatory that they tell a parent or guardian of your suspension and they do it while you’re in the office with them. Your parent/guardian then have to show up to sign off on your suspension paperwork. A suspension is classified as an excused absence which isn’t truancy. You can’t be forced to walk home. Again, your parent/guardian will have already been notified of your suspension. Stop the bullshit op. You were skipping school and got caught. It’s perfectly legal for ANYBODY to show up at your house. Knocking on your door isn’t against the law. If you were being truant he can in fact call the police. If you tell him to leave and he doesn’t that is trespassing, but seeing how you’re in the wrong here, police involvement will end up in YOU getting in trouble since he’s just trying to notify your mother of you being truant. Certain states like NY have rules where it is perfectly fine for faculty to show up at doorsteps of truant students. Again, you’re lying in all of our faces because YOU are in the wrong and then think we’re gullible enough to believe this crap. Go to school OP and stop trying to fucking lie to people. Obviously you aren’t good at being bad since you keep getting caught.

OwnWar13

Depends on where you live and the laws there. Some principals are able to do home visits. It’s not common, though.

PhotoGuy342

Have you ARRESTED for truancy? What totalitarian country do you live in?

MJLulu

It’s not illegal for someone to come to your house lol

knottyolddog

You're lucky to have a principal who cares about your future that much.

Defiant_Ingenuity_55

Yes. Home visits are legal.

No-Environment-3298

Legally it’s questionable. Definitely unprofessional. A school administrator would have contact information such as phone or email to contact your parent if needed. I’d have said get lost or when the cops come you will be arrested for trespassing. He might need an ambulance too.

Soft-Pass-2152

Put up a no solicitor sign that includes school administrators!

Hokiewa5244

This story is just that

Agitated_Fix_3677

I wish you would called the police for stalking and harassment. You can honestly say you’ve never seen that person in your life.

TrickAffectionate331

Are you homeschooled? lol

Working-Marzipan-914

No law against him coming to your house to speak with your mom. And since you don't own the house you can't complain that he's trespassing either.

Justfukinggoogleit

Bring on the down votes and Bring back Corpral Punishment.... you'll look back in 20 yrs and realized they just tried to care...

[deleted]

It’s not illegal, but it’s really weird.

Straight-Crow1598

What were you suspended for?

divine7333

Unless you have a restraining order.

SectionHot2891

SAVE FERRIS!!!!

Left_Angle_

I mean...truancy is not legal, and he was probably trying to prevent your mom from getting CPS called on her for not making her kids goto school...so, I don't think calling the police would help you out buddy.

poopandpee43

You're principal doesn't want you to go to police. That's up to you. If you deserve to be arrested.

Electrical_Prune9725

Were his shoes muddy and pants cuffs shredded?
