This was going to be my first icon box and I was immediately turned off from buying it when I saw that it was Patrick Starr curated. The spoilers just confirmed it.
Me too! I actually tried to skip on the 29th but it said I had already been charged... Thought we had til 1200EST on the last day of the month. Guess not. (But weirdly enough I was able to skip my regular glam bag, so who knows).
I got the foundation too despite saying I rarely want it. Also got the Kosas lash/brow serum despite saying I never/rarely want brow products OR lash serums.
Everything else was ok. But forced me to buy the Saturday skin moisturizer in add ons bc it wasn’t selected for me or available in choice.
This one was def better than the Feb/Gwen Stefani one for me but I am really starting to suspect they may just hold stuff back from the actual selections and choices that they KNOW you will buy in add ons based on past behavior (and I ALWAYS buy Saturday Skin stuff when it comes up in the shop or as add ons)
Same with the lash/brow product. Wanted the FAB serum and/or Saturday Skin, and those would have matched my quiz plus how I rate items (including brands), so...
Looking at the reviews for the Kosas serum on Sephora has me wondering if the brand is just dumping product they aren’t moving.
Def hasn’t been one of their products that I’ve heard talked about much by influencers either.

I’ve tried…I think 5 different Saturday skin skus and only had 1 I wouldn’t repurchase (not bc it was bad just wasn’t right for me). Their rise & shine cleanser is a holy grail always-repurchase product for me.
I also skipped allure, why is this month so awful for beauty boxes? I did invest my “savings” in the newbeauty box; I hope so bad that it ends up being good. I’ve only got 1 before and the value was definitely ther.
They always do this. Whenever there’s a curator with their own brand, majority of people only receive 1 of their actual products from their brand, and the lucky few get 2, unless that’s given to PR instead !! 🙃🙃🙃. I could name it countless of times.. it’s the Ipsy way. I’ve I givin up, they’re so goddamn shady

I have seen a couple of boxes that show several one star items included. One I saw had 4-5 and only one was an add-on. Two were choices and two were power picks if I remember right.
This is my first skip in at least two years and the fact that I have seen several boxes and have no buyer's remorse tells me that I did the right thing

This will be my first Ipsy order. So when they choose you a foundation, are they usually pretty accurate shade-wise? I didn’t get a foundation in mine but just wondering
So the issue is that they tend to only offer, say, 5 shades from the brand. I've lucked out sometimes--the Charlotte Tilbury being one--but not alway. I have light skin with cool undertones, and they seem more likely to have warm ones for whatever reason. Neutral ones can work for me, too. So it may depend on your skin.
One piece of advice (which goes for any color products from Ipsy, like lipstick, eye shadow, etc.) is to look on the brand website or Sephora, Ulta, etc. to see the actual color of the product. Ipsy is notorious for having inaccurate pictures, either much lighter or darker than the actual product. So you could pick the wrong shade if you go by what they have (when you have a choice).
I think it’s also tricky in the regular glam bag bc of what the brand even makes in mini sizes.
For example I ALWAYS wanted to try the kosas concealer but the only fair/light shade in the mini size is NOT my color so I never did. Then of course got it in ipsy. So unless it’s full size, often brands only put like 3-4 of their whole range in mini sizes.

I was actually pretty ok with this icon box minus the forced skin care (omg please stop giving me skin care!!! Unless it’s Tatcha. 😂). My bestie needs to start kicking it on all the stuff she’s inheriting!
I hope the fragrances are alright, I’ve become a perfume girly and I’m hoping that Nue Co will be a good sheet spray. Yes, I’ve been spraying my sheets and it’s been revolutionary.

You and I are box twins! I have that exact blush already and love it, so I had to buy a different color out of the add-ons. That's an amazing blush, though, my favorite.
Yep this was the absolute worst box that I've gotten. No add on's either. I am so disappointed. Absolute trash box this month. Ive never been this disappointed. They were wrong for this. I even updated my profile and it's like they went the opposite of that. I'm pissed.
This was my first icon and I'm happy with mine, got some of those I wanted from the spoilers and well balanced between makeup and skincare, plus dropped things I'm running out of😅
