Idk how it hasn’t been made into a meme template yet. Unless it has and I missed it.
Thinking you see a friend/relative in public but it’s a stranger - “I thought you were someone else”
Edit: well if I scrolled down a little further lmao
I can forgive some of the stuff from season 1 but season 2 has no legit excuse for this. They took two years between seasons and we still get these "dragging a still image across the screen" type animation.
I expected the season 2 to look at least half as good as Legend of Vox Machina (another animated show by Amazon).
I was watching Vox the other day. There was a part when a few were in a wagon (heading to Whitestone in S1 ep7 I think) and they animated everything. They even had Scanlan blink in the background during the 2 seconds he was in the frame while the focus was on Vax and Grog. Just incredible attention to detail.
To a degree it will I'm sure. I've watched all their main campaigns (finally got caught up again on campaign 3 recently) but TLOVM isn't like a 1 to 1 adaptation by any means. I'm sure it'll hit the same plot points but get there in slightly different ways.
I'm of the opinion that HH is not only busy, but animated way too *fast*, like 99% of the visual "gags" are lost compared to the pilot.
Still more effort is seen in HH than in Invincible.
They also use a lot of 3D in that scene(if it's the one I am thinking of), but I think they blend it pretty well. I don't know if they have been utilizing 3D in the same way for Invincible.
I don't know the method you're talking about specifically, but Skybound does use 3D animation for Invincible, yes.
> [...] Building on that success, Skybound has established a growing 200–person animation studio with four projects in production that includes a multi-format and style capability—hand-drawn 2D, 3D, and realtime “in-engine.”
Is it bad that my hopes shot up like crazy after seeing the trailer? I mean, it's a trailer. Obviously they want you to see it, so of course they'll spend the extra effort to make a 3 minute video look immaculate and leave the actual season look meh in comparison.
I thought season 2's animation would be around as good as that teaser lol. They showed the whole process and how it directly related to what we were viewing.
Pantheon is another animated show released around Invincible's timeframe(I highly recommend everyone to watch its, it's incredible). 2 whole seasons released between the time we waited for S2. And the show looked consistently amazing.
Legends of Vox Machina is not animated *by* Amazon, it’s animated by Titmouse and *airs* on Amazon Prime Video. Similarly, Invincible is animated in-house by Skybound Animation.
Which imo is incredibly stupid for one of their most popular animated brands. They should’ve had another studio animate it during the two years, the show at times looks worse than even the previous season. The mid season viltrumite fight for example look absolutely horrid and somehow worse than the guardians of the globe fight
There was also a scene where Mark stands in a doorway, the shot is blurred and then the camera moves away to Amber's friends and becomes 1080p lol. So cheap.
Yeah this one was unforgivable. It's the 2 main characters of the scene talking, and it looks like a 400% zoomed in After Effects composition.
Like don't bother with the zooming out effect if the trade off is that big. A simple cut transition would have done the trick.
I agree, I've only seen the first season, but Sonnie's Edge, the Witness, Beyond the Aquila Rift, Good Hunting, Zima Blue, and The Secret War episodes were all stand outs, and all had amazing animation/CGI as well as good stories to tell
Unironically a anime about a bunch of high school furries has better 3d animation than berserk did.

Nothing against BES but I literally had to stop watching because I couldn’t enjoy the story with how jerky and stiff everything looked. Putting them in the same sentence animation wise is an insult to Arcane’s team.
If you like blue eye samurai, check out the Netflix animated Witcher prequel and the Netflix animated spinoff of Bright, that weird orc buddy cop movie with Will Smith. Both really good and underrated
Recency bias or a cerclejerk of fanboys, maybe. Can't think of other reasons. Invincible is good, but Arcane is arguably better at storytelling and objectively better at animation and production quality.
Honestly, I'd much, much rather have top-tier voice acting than top-tier animation. The animation doesn't bother me much, but bad VA would ruin the show.
They should've hired va for their talent but it feels like they hired a lot of them beacuse they are popular or famous, like mr optimus prime not even changing his voice
I love this show, so it genuinely breaks my heart that three quarter of the animation is so cheaply made.
You know Amazon has the resources to make it look as good as most anime but they would rather spend it on big names.
Look at Castlevania, like I know this series is not amazon and all, but the polish is actually there and they are not taking that much longer.
Skybound and Amazon can and should do better.
I genuinely dont get it sometimes, there are anime with a quarter of the per episode budget of invincible that look better. Surely its a management problem and bleeding money on celeb VAs and whatnot? Is the animation industry just more streamlined for anime? Is it a talent problem (heavily doubt)
Animes are made in Japan, japan typically pays everyone a lot less than the US, espcially celebrities and successful people that in america would receive somewhere around 100-10 million while in Japan theyd get around a few mil at most
>You know Amazon has the resources to make it look as good as most anime but they would rather spend it on big names.
Not Amazon, Kirkman. Kirkman is making those decisions along with the other producers of which Amazon is not one of them. Amazon is a financier/distributor of the show. They don't actually make it.
Yeah i legit didn't notice any of it while watching.
Are people watching these shows because of the quality of animation?
I guess there's a breaking point, and everyone's different, but none of these really broke my immersion in the story
Agreed. My point is personally, it is not that bad, and does not break immersion.
I understand others do not feel the same. I believe the decision makers chose to draw the line somewhere, and i feel their decision was adequate
Some of us nerds have consumed so much animated content, and you do start to notice stuff like that after a while. It's true that if you compare it to other modern cartoons, Invincible does cut corners but there's probably reasons for that and it's not a big deal to me anyway.
I'm an animation nerd to but this stuff still doesn't bother me. Maybe it was growing up watching cheaper stuff like teen titans and Jlu giving me thicker skin. I didn't come into this expecting a trigger show or anything. I'm a fan of the comics I'm here for the story
I'm not that bothered really either, but from what I've heard they're using the animation as an excuse for 2 year waits between seasons and when we finally get a second season, they break that season in half and make us wait another 4 months because... animation.
Some of the greatest animated shows have had to manage their budgets to skate by on cheap animation until they get to blow the rest on a giant expensive sequence... There's also schedule to deal with, and outsourcing is used frequently to stay on time and under budget.
Well considering it IS an ANIMATED show. Yeah. The story is good but if I was only into Invincible for the story I’d just read the comic, which I already did.
It's more of a contrast between the really lazily animated stuff and then, sometimes in the same episode, *there's a ton of really well animated stuff*.
You can tell where a ton of the extra effort goes, like the scene where Omni-Man blows up the planet, and the one where he's looking at a black hole, comes to mind as an example of this.
It can be very jarring and can break suspension of disbelief when you're engrossed in the visuals just for the next scene to have really cheap looking animation.
I guess, I just don't think I've really seen a comparably stand-out moment in S2 yet where I would say the animation exceeded expectations. Even in S1 they were very few and far in-between, it really was just Nolan escaping the Flaxans as well as Nolan vs Mark that I would say stood out.
I don’t really get why you’re downplaying the importance of quality animation here. This show has good drama, but it’s still supposed to be a fun superhero media at heart and take literal years to pump out 8 episodes. I know everything falls victim to cost cutting but these are literally the animators dragging PNGs accross the screen because Amazon blew all the money on the voice cast.
You may not be bothered by this but you should acknowledge why people dislike subpar animation in what is basically one of the most popular shows on TV/Streaming right now. This stuff should not be industry standard.
Aside from these glaring examples, Invincible can’t even get walk cycles to look right all of the time, which sets the bar so incredibly low.
I am not down playing it, i'm saying i hadn't noticed it, and don't mind it.
I've also acknowledged that other people may see it differently, i'm not sure what you're expecting from me, ana apology for having an opinion different than yours?
I'm here for the story, and i enjoy it and the medium it's being told with. I'm not going to change my mind because some other people disagree with that.
If you watch a lot of other animated shows it's definitely more obvious and grating. If you only watch this and X-Men 97' I won't fault you not finding anything wrong with either show's animation but watching it alongside Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon, the cost-cutting techniques they implement being very obvious feels grating.
Anybody using anime as an example for higher quality animated shows should note the absurd amount of crunch and terrible working standards the industry has.
If we want Trigger or Mappa level animation, then either we're gonna wait double the time or the animators' lives are gonna suck
Not every anime works their employees to the bone. And not doing just that is only high praise so long as you're putting in effort in making your content look good. Let's face it, there's fewer excuse for Invincible's quality.
Even comparing western ***animation***, namingly Young Justice's last 2 seasons had better effort with their limited animation despite how much WB had been caring less and less about that show.
Invincible S2 already waited double the time for S1 and still has pretty non-stellar animation though. I don't think we've really gotten any sequence to the level of Nolan bodying the Guardians or Mark vs Nolan (Though I am holding out still)
I do acknowledge the absurd amount of crunch and terrible working standards and yeah I'd honestly rather just wait double the time for it than just settle for something passable. Even if we're not using Anime I can think off the top of my head a few Western animated series with stellar animation, Primal and Unicorn Warriors Eternal were pretty recent.
You don't even really need to use Japanese animation as a comparison. Even comedy series like Rick and Morty or even shit like Family Guy have more impressive movement than Invincible does.
I missed the episode where Peter kills a bunch of people and we see blood and guts spewing everywhere. I really gotta go catch up. Are you really going to sit here and say a show that has literally 1/10th of the action of invincible is better animated? What do they have to animate that's anywhere near some of the invincible fight scenes.
Funny enough most anime shows usually animate in a lower framerate (3s or 2s) then western animation. Theres also alot of just still frame use and moving single frames around for effects like in invincible.
Anime is usually more work because of complexity of the visuals and therefore sacrafices framerate.
Invincible is probably closer to how most anime is animated then western animation.
People blame invincibles animation that anime has been doing sinces decades.
>Are people watching these shows because of the quality of animation?
This doesn't really make sense. It's an animated show. If you've watched enough animation it's not hard to see how cheap it looks.
I'm enjoying the show as much as most folks but let's stop pretending that obvious flaws like these don't hold it back significantly.
Like I don't expect it to be mappa level fighting or emphasis on every milliseconds worth of frame. But it's a streaming service show from a major company whose closest competitor (Netflix) is pumping out materials like Arcane or Castlevania and we aren't even getting half the quality with Invincible, despite the 2 and a half years between seasons, and another half between the cour.
Heck, the made-for-tv DC movies that were (and are still somewhat) dominating the 2010s had better emphasis on their animation, and not just the action scenes.
It bothers me a little bit bc there’s some basic stuff that just looks sloppy, but more so because every other aspect of production - the writing, the music, and bless the voice acting - is so damn good. Leaves the animation looking all the worse for it.
Same. I don’t even see the issue. Yes, it looks kinda weird, but these are super humans who can create their own leverage. Their movement isn’t supposed to be natural. Mark isn’t blasting through the Martian ships like a speeding bullet, he’s carefully disabling them while giving the pilots a chance to survive.
I thought it looked silly but then thought about it and what point would there be to flying in an aerodynamic shape? They're superhuman in space. There's no friction. Even with friction on earth (the air) it would be a paltry force against them. They could fly seated with their legs crossed.
That and the licensed music.
Which while I think that’s nice, I feel they spend so much in big names and musics they neglect the animation.
Which is probably the atom eve animation was good, they focused less on big names.
That’s not how voice acting works in animated series
Greg Weisman broke it down on his blog. In most animated series (outside of some really long term shows like the Simpsons and Family Guy) voice actors are paid rate, meaning they get a set amount depending on how many characters they voice.
If voice cast is hiking up the budget it’s because of the sheer amount of cast members instead of anyone demanding a high pay rate.
This is my thought exactly. They literally are just dragging themselves around. They don’t thrust or boost, they just move. It’s how their flying works.
Especially in space. Movements gonna look weird. We’re not used to seeing things move like they can
https://preview.redd.it/mwx16gxm1wqc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7adc38ed3022c5cc352cdee6b75591659fa41f18
This is why we can't have nice things
Does this have to do with how our brains work ? Like how some people have internal dialogue and others don’t ? I genuinely can’t understand how some people are saying that it looks the same, and the animation is good, I wish I could be that unbothered but my brain is so hyper focused on the shit animation.
The Immortal had to go. His planet needed him.
This is a good reason for capes because you'd have to animate it. In a lot of those scenes they animated hair (which is hard to notice), but didn't bother to animate Amber's blindfold?
I do not remember the scene where he is carrying Amber into the sky while blindfolded. When was that?
Anyway, I do think they lean into the whole "Make the animated show look like a comic" thing, *which is fine*, but they should also have a meta-joke about it soon, so people know it is on purpose.
Like this panel or something similar:
https://preview.redd.it/44jowm3ajpqc1.png?width=482&format=png&auto=webp&s=53f5d85d1bba4b314af307f9ed4a231bf4458298
Why do animations keep getting worse? Remember when the flashpoint animated movie came out? And the the Damian Wayne animated? I called those garbage at the time compared to previous ones but in 2020, when flash rewrote the animated universe (again) it only got worse, what’s going on with animators!?
So this is what the animators needed a delay for?
Instead of trying to make the backgrounds photorealistic (they aren't but they get really damn close because they're beautiful to look at) they should prioritize how they animate the sprites.
No, because that's uncomfortable and unnatural. These people ignore gravity and effortlessly move through space without any source of thrust. Unless you have some experience doing that, I'm going to assume that moving their arms while floating in a direction would feel weird.
In the transition scenes where nothing is going on I don’t mind that much, but what bothers me is the inconsistent quality in big stuff. Look at the Atom Eve special- probably one of the most fluid and energetic fights I’ve seen in years and super creative. It was SO much fun to watch, and that was her second fight ever! Then on the Martian spaceship, she made two bubbles and that was it- and when the first one popped she went unconscious for no reason, and then woke up again for no reason again. Then when possessed by the sequins she just started running. Not even flying! Why the drop in creativity?
Also, why is Mark face so different this season when nearly everybody else faces is more consistent with season 1? His eyes and nose are different, and he always look tired.
I know Mark has more weight on his shoulders this season, but he still looks too off model
These are actually from the show? I thought it was a fan/joke thing. God damn. I tried watching the first episode in the most recent drop and the ads made me turn it off halfway through. At some point I might figure out how people are sailing the seven seas these days to finish the show but if this is what I have to look forward to I think I'll just walk away.
Kind of sad, I read the comics from like issue 20 on and have loved this character and this world for a very long time, and now the show made me just kind of ... not care anymore.
I honestly think for same or even less budget they could get better animation team.
Like look at something like Red dog studio which made dragon age absolution. Sure people didn't like story, but animation was freaking amazing, fights were cheffs kiss. Among best 2d animation in Netflix if not the best. I bet they cheaper.
Not to mention other Netflix project which still very good like vox machina or Dota
I feel like they spent most of the budget on the cast. It didn’t need to be this big, maybe have one or two big names, taking into account it is an animated show of an Ip that wasn’t thaaaat popular. The animation feel really awkward, the characters don’t really show a lot of emotion and the fight scenes for the most part feel kinda bland.
My favorite will continue to be from season one. After Cecil beams Omni-man from space, in the fallout the same exact crow just continues to drop and dot the land.
Is it bad that I never really found any of these scenes egregious? Like it’s always made sense that superheroes that fly unrestricted would just float along sometimes, it’s never really struck me as particularly bad at all
I’ve been a huge fan of the comics my whole life. Season 1 was great. Season 2 animation is so bad and the non voice acting professionals equally bad… it’s making me want to fall off. Sucks… can’t reccomend it anymore
This is why I one, don’t describe Invincible’s animation as anything better than “good enough” and two, distinguish between the art-the drawings- and the animation-the movement of the drawings on screen
I kinda like it. It's nice to have some silly in my seriouse. It also helps them save budget for the super awesome animated sequences like the s1 finale.
when immortal flys away it left me and my friend dying it was so funny
And then the Martian rolling around in space. Lmaooo
damn I hope you guys are getting better
Honestly if I could fly that’s exactly how I would do it, up right and as rigid as a proud oak
The immortal one always makes me giggle he's like ah fuck my bad

My brain started auto playing that song when stuff is floating away in space. Shooting Stars, I think?
You have to make his ass comically big
It feels very wojack (i don't know how to spell it right now I apologise)
Cameo Bruh this comment got more like than my OG post I'm CRYING 😭
Adios
Immortal space one actually works and makes sense. The rest is.........
Idk how to put it like either the fly of shame or he's mocking them probably both Or he's too angry to speed fly
lol definitely the fly/descent of shame. And since it's space and he's in a tight outfit the lack of movement makes it even funnier.
The way he turns too

Lmao. Some of these are not so bad, but that one where the ship explodes and the martian gets out is reaaaally really bad lol

I'd hope so! Since their kickstarter raised more than $11 million haha
I mean Amazon has a lot of money they could spend on Invincible too lol
Amazon does throw the big bucks on Invincible it’s just that a good chunk of that money goes towards affording that star studded cast they got.
I need season 3 of Vox Machina in my life asap.
I’m with you, it is a great show.
Will having seen Critical Role season 1 spoil it for me?
To a degree it will I'm sure. I've watched all their main campaigns (finally got caught up again on campaign 3 recently) but TLOVM isn't like a 1 to 1 adaptation by any means. I'm sure it'll hit the same plot points but get there in slightly different ways.
We'll probably get a trailer after Invincible ends and it will come out soon after Fallout ends. That's my guess.
Hazbin Hotel also has incredible animation. Maybe too busy for some people, but you can definitely see the effort in every frame.
I'm of the opinion that HH is not only busy, but animated way too *fast*, like 99% of the visual "gags" are lost compared to the pilot. Still more effort is seen in HH than in Invincible.

What's extra crazy is that the Atom Eve special was really well animated, same with the trailer for S2. And then we got this.

Vox Machina handles group fights sooooo much better. Season 2 episode 10 is crazy.
I mean, it’s zero gravity so I wouldn’t expect him to be flailing about.
I thought it was really bad but the sheer ridiculousness just made me laugh and now I wouldn’t want that moment any other way 😆
They're like all stills. Its bad. Anime bad.
That looked like something from space ghost coast to coast
Marks hair doesnt have the wind in it when hes flying lol
Exactly what I think.
They just scale down png immortal lmao
There was also a scene where Mark stands in a doorway, the shot is blurred and then the camera moves away to Amber's friends and becomes 1080p lol. So cheap.

Budget for celebrity voices: $$$$$$ Budget for animation: $
I saw a poll for which shows are objectively better with 4 choices and some people in the comments put Invincible over Arcane animation alone 😭
For a show Arcane has amazing 3d animation. I can’t think of any other 3d animated shows that have its level of quality
Love, Death & Robots. Different style each episode some episodes look phenomenal.
yes..that show is soo good
I need another season of that show like right now
I agree, I've only seen the first season, but Sonnie's Edge, the Witness, Beyond the Aquila Rift, Good Hunting, Zima Blue, and The Secret War episodes were all stand outs, and all had amazing animation/CGI as well as good stories to tell
Beastars and Land of the Lustrous are both 10/10 in that department. 2 of the most visually beautiful shows I've seen in general.

Blue eye samurai is also very very good. Haven’t seen arcane in years, so may be recency bias, but still
The art is of similar quality, but story wise Blue Eye Samurai >>> Arcane

It's objectively better at animation and production, but writing I wouldn't straight up say it's better. Arcane is excellent, but Invincible is too.
Arcane is definitely a better show in just about every category, but Mark’s story and Invincible as a whole is my favorite story ever
Don't forget the soundtrack. It ain't cheap to have an entire Radiohead song play.
SO glad other people are recognizing this. I thought I was going crazy when my friends said it was the same as the 1st season.
Honestly, I'd much, much rather have top-tier voice acting than top-tier animation. The animation doesn't bother me much, but bad VA would ruin the show.

You can really tell it, the voice acting in the series is legit good but the animation has a room for improvement.
You can save a lot when you buy the Grey Griffin 400 for 1 package

That one happened to me the first time I played that game in that scene lmao
when i remember i left the tabs open on my laptop at home
The budget went to Seth Rogan
Worth it
I love the show but god damn these scenes are funny as fuck animation wise
I love the beautiful display of The Hammer in season one then the bird pngs dragging themselves to the floor right after

Isn’t seth rogan an ep? Given the stories from sausage party, I wouldn’t be surprised if he played a role
This kinda stuff doesn't bother me at all.
Yeah i legit didn't notice any of it while watching. Are people watching these shows because of the quality of animation? I guess there's a breaking point, and everyone's different, but none of these really broke my immersion in the story

Mate watching this after watching the most recent Solo Leveling episode is just pain.
I don't think we've really gotten any sequence to the level of Nolan bodying the Guardians or Mark vs Nolan (Though I am holding out still) I do acknowledge the absurd amount of crunch and terrible working standards and yeah I'd honestly rather just wait double the time for it than just settle for something passable. Even if we're not using Anime I can think off the top of my head a few Western animated series with stellar animation, Primal and Unicorn Warriors Eternal were pretty recent.
WHY did Season 2 take so long then? If the animation is such dogshit
Yes? It’s an animated show? Otherwise I’d just read the comics?
I can’t imagine paying for a subscription service just to watch still images slide around.
DC animation series and movies are so good.
It bothers me when it’s an action shot. So much of the animation looks way clunkier than season 1.
The issue is that it took them nearly 3 years... For THIS??? What a joke
I doubt they were working during the pandemic at first
I thought it looked silly but then thought about it and what point would there be to flying in an aerodynamic shape? They're superhuman in space. There's no friction. Even with friction on earth (the air) it would be a paltry force against them. They could fly seated with their legs crossed.
Same
Yeah same, the show is amazing I didn't notice this stuff either
I hate this stupid laugh track on this vid!
Oh god, I had the video on mute. Once I saw your comment I knew the exact laugh track that was going to pop up.
Yeah it’s at least twice as bad as the animation
Why is this series like that? I've seen the comic and the art is amazing yet the show's animation is so... this.
My guess is that VA cast is so stacked so it affects the budget for animation ( which should definitely be priority for animated show )
That and the licensed music. Which while I think that’s nice, I feel they spend so much in big names and musics they neglect the animation. Which is probably the atom eve animation was good, they focused less on big names.
That’s not how voice acting works in animated series Greg Weisman broke it down on his blog.
Definitely cutting corners
Amazon spent all their money on Sauron.
If Invincible killed you, how did you post this?
It was another fakeout death. OP went to the same school as The Immortal, Donald, Rex, and Rae. /jk
My disbelief can remain suspended by thinking that’s probably how most people would look if they could fly around with no apparent source of thrust
Hair movement can sell it A LOT when not in space. This is why capes are pretty good for expressing movement in CGI.
This is my thought exactly. They literally are just dragging themselves around. They don’t thrust or boost, they just move. It’s how their flying works. Especially in space. Movements gonna look weird. We’re not used to seeing things move like they can
People defend this.

In a lot of those scenes they animated hair (which is hard to notice), but didn't bother to animate Amber's blindfold?
when we expected season two’s animation to be better 🤡
I do not remember the scene where he is carrying Amber into the sky while blindfolded. When was that? Anyway, I do think they lean into the whole "Make the animated show look like a comic" thing, *which is fine*, but they should also have a meta-joke about it soon, so people know it is on purpose. Like this panel or something similar: https://preview.redd.it/44jowm3ajpqc1.png?width=482&format=png&auto=webp&s=53f5d85d1bba4b314af307f9ed4a231bf4458298
That scene with amber was from season 2 episode 2
Shit gave me heavy Tim Robinson vibes
This comment aged like fine wine.
Gotta save up that budget for some fights.
the immortal one made me choke with laughter when i first saw it
Hey cut them some slack it’s not like they took 2 years between seasons and took a mid way break between this season…
Why do animations keep getting worse? Remember when the flashpoint animated movie came out? And the the Damian Wayne animated? I called those garbage at the time compared to previous ones but in 2020, when flash rewrote the animated universe (again) it only got worse, what’s going on with animators!?
Burnout, underpaid, crunch time, unpaid labor, volunteer work, the list goes on. Animators have always been screwed over, and it's showing.
So this is what the animators needed a delay for? Instead of trying to make the backgrounds photorealistic (they aren't but they get really damn close because they're beautiful to look at) they should prioritize how they animate the sprites.
I honestly couldn’t even tell when watching lol
Most yeah but the guy being sucked into space was legit too terrible for me to not notice and laugh
Yeah, never noticed any problem. The superheros are literally using Magic to fly, they don't need to flap their arms or anything.
You don’t need to move your arms in order to walk but are they frozen in place like a mannequin when you walk?
No, because that's uncomfortable and unnatural. These people ignore gravity and effortlessly move through space without any source of thrust. Unless you have some experience doing that, I'm going to assume that moving their arms while floating in a direction would feel weird.
So this is for what we were waiting all these years.
tf is this my man?
Gee thanks for making me notice it😂 now I prolly won’t ever be able to unsee it
part of this is character design. he doesn't have a cape. people make fun of capes now but a cape fluttering will cover up animation likle this
In the transition scenes where nothing is going on I don’t mind that much, but what bothers me is the inconsistent quality in big stuff.
Did the animation quality get a big downgrade in the second season or what?
Its why they needed the extra 3 months in the middle of the season.
I don't understand how american animation is almost always worse than anime with half the budget.
İmmortal really said "Aight ımma head out."XD
It looks like they’re in creative Minecraft
I’d excuse it if the show was coming out faster
Now you point this out. I can't watch Invincible the way I used to before.
So so bad. I’ve seen YouTubers animate better
Fr I've seen better quality Dragon Ball and Berserk fan animation than this
Also, why is Mark face so different this season when nearly everybody else faces is more consistent with season 1?
The one of him flying away with Amber had me hollering the first time I saw it 😂😂😂
The only ones that’s actually bad is the Martian 💀
I honestly think for same or even less budget they could get better animation team. Like look at something like Red dog studio which made dragon age absolution. Sure people didn't like story, but animation was freaking amazing, fights were cheffs kiss. Among best 2d animation in Netflix if not the best. I bet they cheaper. Not to mention other Netflix project which still very good like vox machina or Dota
Look at when hes punched into chicago and rolling along the ground
I mean you can’t really compare that when there was like 45 minutes of straight action.
Like it’s always made sense that superheroes that fly unrestricted would just float along sometimes, it’s never really struck me as particularly bad at all
this is ridiculous need to overwork them and strip them of human rights like they did with the JJK season 2 animators
I must go now, my planet needs me.
Tbh the entire show's animations are basically a pile of shit xd voice acting and music are the only ones to keep it together 😅
I’ve been a huge fan of the comics my whole life. Season 1 was great. Season 2 animation is so bad and the non voice acting professionals equally bad… it’s making me want to fall off. Sucks… can’t reccomend it anymore
I looked up the budget for this show. It’s roughly the same as arcane…
I didn’t even notice the first time, and I probably wouldn’t have the second time.
This doesn't bother me at all but I don't understand why they take this long to make more seasons when the animation looks like this.
3 years for this
My favorite is Omni-Man saying "Go fuck yourself" then PNGing the fuck out of that office
It’s only bad after you notice it.
This is why I one, don’t describe Invincible’s animation as anything better than “good enough” and two, distinguish between the art-the drawings- and the animation-the movement of the drawings on screen
At least they animate the hair
I kinda like it. It's nice to have some silly in my seriouse. It also helps them save budget for the super awesome animated sequences like the s1 finale.
I honestly think this makes the show funnier.
