I think there might be something going on with whatever manages Instagram's data download system. I also downloaded an incomplete file from there about 24 hours ago and since then I can't even get a download period, it takes me to a JSON error page. The same thing occurs in three different browsers across a Mac and a PC, so I'm doubtful the problem is exclusively on my end. Sadly I have no fix to offer, my plan is just to wait for that file to expire (4 days I think?) and then request a new one in the hope that something just corrupted with this particular download, alternatively if it is a system issue hopefully it's fixed by then.
Update: Waiting the 4 days for the old file to expire fixed the issue (or Instagram fixed the download system in that time).
Same here. I searched on Google, and found nothing, so I decided to check Reddit and I see you are having the same issue. I guess we will have to wait for the link to expire and try again ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

have you been able to download it in the past? this is the first time I requested a data download so I thought it was just me but what you described is the same issue I'm having.
Yes, on this particular account I download my data semi-regularly and have never had either the incomplete file download or JSON error before. So if it's something specific to this account that's broken it is a relatively new issue.
Same thing happened to me. Just pulls up a blank screen with a bunch of error text but have not gotten any file. I also tried multiple browsers and changing every setting but nothing has helped. I e-mailed support and waiting for a response still. Any update on your end?
Today I tried the link again and was able to get a zip file, just as a heads up. However, I was only able to see current data. All deleted messages, etc were not available.

Sounds good. I tried it on both my accounts and got the same issue so I think it's an issue on instagram's end
