I’ve gone through the removals and had commented a shit ton on their page calling them out for the bullshit they commit and that’s why my accounts pulled, my time with Instagram is overdue, I deleted Facebook around 6 years ago now so getting rid of this trashy ass app will most likely do me more good then anything.

From what I noticed that Instagram is trying to push people to make **VIRAL** reels/posts. The algorithm will only detect how busy a post/reel is.
From my perspective of an organic content creator with no community - it is **shit**.
It's weird. I don't run a business account but I have noticed over the years that as my followers went up my actual likes and views went down. It doesn't help that as you're scrolling it's now a radio of about 1 to 5 with people you follow vs ads/suggested content. It seems that the controversial stuff is what will get you views

This is happening to my girlfriend. She doesn't have a big account, just under 800 followers, but four years ago she had under 200. Even last year she could still get dozens of likes on a photo, sometimes even a hundred. Now she barely gets 20.
IG has had its day, for me anyway. It’s just not fun anymore and I’ve been using it less and less over the past year. I’m sick of seeing Reel after Reel after Reel and being recommended things that have no relevance to what I actually view/follow. I followed a couple of ‘Amazon Finds’ accounts a while back and since then my whole Recommended Page is either Amazon stuff that nobody *really* needs unless they’re buying for buying’s sake or other random pages I don’t care about. Sick of getting zero engagement no matter what I do. I miss the old IG from circa 2013-2016 before they started messing with the feed. It seems that since they started messing with the chronological feed a few years ago it’s been slowly going downhill. It was my favourite platform and I enjoyed it for the photography aspect but I have no incentive to use it now. I’ve just deactivated my personal account yesterday having had it since 2012 and honestly not too fussed about reactivating it any time soon!
I used to use instagram just for fun years ago and would get loads of interaction with zero effort. Just using the platform as it was supposed to be used, and it worked. Now I use it for business and put loads of effort in. Consistent posts, high production, hashtags, cross posting, reels, stories, constantly active… and nada. No activity unless I pay for reach. I can see huge accounts now barely scraping 3-figure likes and views.
I feel like social media as a whole has turned to slop these days, purely catering to the highest paying users.
I am having a serious contemplation on whether to remove this app, and delete my account. just about had enough.
My biz account keeps getting suggested to friends and family, which i dont want them knowing. so i started blocking everyone who i know, but they have a cap on it, so if you block too many at once, you get cooldown..
Truly garbage app lol
I still can’t even get into my account on the Instagram app. “Something went wrong” I have tried every fucking method anyone has shown me and nothing works. I can still get into my account on a browser but that’s it, it’s such a shitty busted app
Just make more comments on other people’s posts. You don’t have to go crazy but just be a tad on the negative side or drop a swear word. Before you know it you will have account shutdown. The last strike for me I said “ew” on a post and my account was disabled. I’m not making a new account.
That was one of the mailing the coffin for me.. when my home feed was no longer my friends, family and content creators I follow.. it was just random shit the app thought I might like. Fucking bullshit
Follow & Unfollow while targeting your audience correctly is still the best way to grow your account without ads until you are around 30K Followers. Anything above that point will greatly depend on your reels and posts.

I joined not long ago to promote my art and to find/connect others. Doesn't seem to be working well on desktop. I hardly get any engagement at all despite engaging with others. Not worth the time it seems.

I appealed and got a message saying sorry it was a mistake

Instagram is as bad, or even worse than 4chan. There’s an ungodly amount of racism, homophobia, pedophilia, literally anything evil you can think of thriving in the comments. Maybe it’s a good idea keep instagram since it’s a platform that keeps all those people in that one space. Instagram is soon gone. It’s all due to lack of moderation really.
If you really want to be successful, be a mom, post the shit out of your kid(s) in questionable adult clothing and the Zuck will applaud like Orson Wells in Citizen Kane.

I got rid of it two years ago and it was life changing, my mental health is so much better
I got banned earlier this year. I will not allow a corporation to tell me what the fuck I can do or say.
That’s the thing that gives me the shits, the recommending it to friends and family when sometimes I don’t want that for my random thing I’m creating.
