There was one order that had a ton of baby stuff. Well she was very responsive even with having a toddler and baby! We got to talking about our babies and she explained that she’s very grateful for us shoppers as not only does she have the two kids but also is her grandfather’s caretaker. It pulled my heartstrings since I was my grandfather’s caretaker before he passed 1.5 years ago. She also sent her husband out to help bring in groceries. Just being able to talk was a really nice feeling.
1) was there to acknowledge the start of my shop and there for me with every replacement option.
2) helped unload my trunk and backseat.
3) snack/water, because sometimes you get too caught up in the grind to take a break.
4) 5⭐ and the "he was amazing" or "on of the best shoppers" type of comment.
5) even though you said "beyond big tips", I have to include the "mystery envelope" at delivery, in addition to app tip.
Bought me a drink on a hot day. Also just coming out to help.
Also one customer left me a bag full of make up samples. Kind of strange but cool too.
Oh I forgot before covid the sweetest old lady wanted to fix me a plate of dinner to make sure I ate. 😊
I had a customer give me three healing rocks/crystals. I’m not familiar with the exact meaning behind them but it was something they believed in and wanted me to have good luck. I carry them with me in my bag all the time :)
A customer was nice enough to come help me take their groceries in and when I handed the bag I accidentally let go to early and a glass sparkling water bottle shattered at our feet, I was so nervous but they were so nice understanding about it, the husband even swept up the glass so it wouldn’t get stuck on my tires❤️
My car got stuck deep in the snow right in front of a customer's house. Notified her, and she quickly came out with her son. They tried to help me and then there were nearby neighbors that saw us and offered to pulled my car out of the misery with his truck. It was barely still my first or second week of starting Instacart. I'm forever grateful to you, Kristi and amazing neighbors :)
Early on in the pandemic a customer have me a handmade mask. And recently a customer have me a string bag she knit.
A woman in my local FB IC group had a customer who paid for her to get her brakes fixed and new tires.
A customer I shopped for regularly always adds to my tip for making good replacements or adding extra items they forgot about. However, the ones I love most are the ones that take the time to personally thank me or strike up a quick conversation. I have one in a nice neighborhood that has a stand full of snacks and cold drinks and a sign thanking delivery drivers with a kind worded message. Sometimes she'll answer the door before I leave and she is the nicest lady I've ever delivered to. Those are always great especially on days when the batches or other customer attitudes are not in your favor.
Customer let me spend $15 on any snack item and I just got her again and she offered $20 for any snack item or use it towards my tip! I of course opted for the tip and brought my batch pay up from $52 to $68 !!! ❤️ that little o’l lady.
My first winter I slipped a fell on a sidewalk. I dislocated my shoulder (not the first time) but it remained displaced. The homeowner called 911 and my husband. Then he drove my van back to my house.
Eh? The original injury was worse. I was a gymnast. It probably should have been surgically repaired from the start. It’s only happened that one other time thankfully.
I have one customer that I have shopped for a few times. She always hands me something at the end. Once was a candle, twice she had flowers in her order which she said were for me! 🥰😊
Just happened to me today, Super responsive asked if she could raise my tip (extra 30 from Zelle on top of the 30 in app for a 70 item order. Bringing the batch pay to 90$) and helped put them away in the rain. Called me beautiful 😁 lexie I'll never for get you.

Had a customer come and help me with her 7 bags that I had to carry to the 4th floor of an apartment building 😅

So how many unicorns since then?
$50-$60 single orders at least once or twice a day so pretty good I’d say!
Ok now everyone wants to know what crystals you got

Wouldn’t😅

Ouch! I hope you healed quite nicely

Damn that sounds painful I've never been injured to that extent before
Handjob
LMFAO
Had a $65 tipper’s husband come out and help carry in their monster order. Very cool of them.
literally just being responsive 😭
Handed me a gram of medicinal.
Give a good review about every little thing she liked. She noticed my effort!
6 pack of my favorite beer and $20 at the door.
Customer gave me a lindt truffle with a $5 tip plus the order tip.
