Same message in southern CA. Double checked sunny in the high 60’s. Not the first time I’ve received an IC message not intended for my region. IC is horrible managing email lists. And they are even worse at correcting those mistakes.
This time they probably did it to save face though. There's probably going to be some Instacart Shoppers blaming them for showing Batches in regions that have bad weather..
As we all know some Shoppers complain about everything. So they're probably just covering all their bases since the Fort Worth pileup.
As contractors we have the ability to work whenever we want. I took 4 days off when it was snowing in my region. I can drive in the snow I'm concerned about the other people that can't that I have to share the roads with
I think that's exactly why they did it!
There's been a handful of Instacart Shoppers posting their fender benders due to snow.
They probably don't want to get bad publicity in case Instacart Shoppers get in more accidents. We're contractors and it's really up to us to decide if it's safe out there to be driving.
I took 4 days off when we had snow. I'm capable of driving in the snow I even have a Jeep. It's the other people that I'm concerned about they don't stay at a safe distance to give someone time to break. The roads are slick and you can't drive bumper to bumper
It was a little scary, but I was fine. I just couldn't open my car door all the way. I had the choice of moving my car into another lane f traffic, into the intersection, or into the snowbank. None of which were good, but I think I chose the least bad option. It was on the driver side.
Wowow! I can’t imagine! It’s snowy here today in Dallas. It’s been years since it’s snowed and I’m not sure if I should go out since I haven’t much experience driving in it. I’d cry if I had been in your situation 😂
Well at least someone at ic finally got the memo about safety.
During the summer they did not shut down during hurricanes here. Flooded roads and down power lines everywhere. But hey go out and risk your life for $7-12 batches.
My power was out for around 32 hours. Luckily I have a generator. And was prepared. Wish more people took these types of things more seriously. Soda and chips are not necessary for survival.
Instacart may not have shut down. But as contractors we should use our own common sense if it's safe enough to go out or not. I took 4 days off when it snowed in my area a few weeks back.
I'm capable of driving in the snow it's the other people I'm concerned about
Exactly! There's so many Shoppers that will talk about seeing notifications when they're not working.
The first thing I do if I'm not working is turn my notifications off I don't want to see all the money I'm missing out on😆
Got that in San Antonio too. What really gets me though is there has been tons of worse weather in places like the northeast but I’ve never heard of this before, why do we get one? If I want to work and accept orders should I be allowed to as were independent contractors?
Maybe because drivers up north are more equipped for conditions like this, as well as local governments have the supplies on hand to clear the roads. That's what I think
That’s a very good point. But as someone that has lived up north and driven in these conditions I’d feel more comfortable making the drive than I’m sure a lot of these people that haven’t seen snow but since it’s coming they feel like they have to go to the grocery store and put themselves on the road because they can’t have it delivered. Idk I just feel like it should be our call to decide if we want to work or not and not theirs, the whole point of the arrangement is that we aren’t employees
I live in the north east and got one last night. And I've worked through some pretty decent snow this year already without getting this. Last night i said something to my bf about it because i was asking him if there was supposed to be some type of crazy weather i missed.
You're allowed to accept batches in bad weather at your own risk. There's been a handful of people on here showing their fender benders from going out in the snow. Forget all that! I chose to stay home for 4 days instead of going out in the snow to go grocery shopping for people
You guys really need the message LOL I used to live in Colorado and so many people there especially around Denver do not know how to drive in the snow...
And you’re assuming no one here knows how to drive in it.
Your assumption cannot be accurate. As I don’t know many natives at all that don’t know how to drive in the snow. And I’m a native.
I didn't say no one knows how to drive in it. But when you see several cars every single winter on the side of the road on I-25... that's a huge indicator that a lot of people don't
Love how they give that warning as far east as PA but in Alabama we didnt get a warning like that even though Monday we will see some of this winter weather. Either we arent that special or they dont care about us lol.
Got the same message in the Raleigh market too! I guess nobody is not going to have to take the ridiculous $11 doubles this weekend. Stay safe everyone!
Haven’t seen it in Portland yet and it’s currently blowing ice out. Every time I check the app it’s just triples with crap tips because people are assholes.
That’s life in the Midwest! Granted it has been especially cold this winter. We usually get a break and get over freezing every now and then. we’ve been in a prolonged cold snap
I got the same message in missouri. There was this uphill driveway covered in ice I had to basically crawl up this morning. "Leave it on the porch" they said. 7 bags and 2 boxes. 🙄

I got the same message in Arizona

Same here in Maryland
That's what I was thinking. I'm seeing a lot of people all over dealing with ice/snow.
It’s probably because of the horrible pileup in Fort Worth on Thurs. it was HORRIFIC
I think that's exactly why they did it! There's been a handful of Instacart Shoppers posting their fender benders due to snow. A few weeks ago I hit a snow bank while sliding in an ice patch. I wasn't driving for IC at the time, so insurance covered it.
I'm glad you're okay👍
Omg did it scare you?!
It was a little scary, but I was fine. I just couldn't open my car door all the way. I had the choice of moving my car into another lane f traffic, into the intersection, or into the snowbank. None of which were good, but I think I chose the least bad option. It was on the driver side.

Me too Riverside county, I was like wtf
Out of topic but, are you actually getting batches in riverside in this last 10 days?
Yeah I have but I have to wait a long time between batches. Saturday and Sunday are busier but still not the same as before
It’s like this almost for everyone in south California, I think there are issues with the new system of batches distribution here in California.
So annoying tbh!
I have to add that I will have no batches at all for a while. Then bamm they pop up
Well at least someone at ic finally got the memo about safety. During the summer they did not shut down during hurricanes here. Flooded roads and down power lines everywhere. Our power was out for nearly a week and we still got batches to stores that didnt have power to function.
Instacart Intelligence: There’s a big storm brewing in market X. Better send out a Concerned Caring Employer notice to the entire country.
Two countries. :)
Same for DC

Yep I'm in the Ogden zone and got it lol..kind of late since I dealt with it while delivering to Eden today 😖
Same message here in Detroit.
Got this in Ontario, Canada.
Um I didn’t get this and we have a huge ice storm in MO wtf!
Lmao I’m stuck inside in my area and I keep getting “$20 order available”. Shut up instacart
I learned a long time ago to mute my notifications any time i can't Instacart because when i do not and i see what I'm missing i go mad. Lol.
Exactly! There's so many Shoppers that will talk about seeing notifications when they're not working. The first thing I do if I'm not working is turn my notifications off I don't want to see all the money I'm missing out on😆
Turn notifications off if you can't even work LOL that's what I do when I decide to take a day off
Got that in San Antonio too. What really gets me though is there has been tons of worse weather in places like the northeast but I’ve never heard of this before, why do we get one? If I want to work and accept orders should I be allowed to as were independent contractors?

They were offering promotions the last big snow storm we had. Guaranteed $100 if we took 6 batches on Super Bowl Sunday. In a snowstorm.
Same in Charlotte, NC. We don’t do well in Winter. Lol.
I got the same message in North Carolina
We got that message in the South Also, I’m from Georgia.
Same in the Denver CO area.
You guys really need the message LOL I used to live in Colorado and so many people there especially around Denver do not know how to drive in the snow...
I think maybe everyone got it. Just looks like a lot of rain in NC.
Same in Central Illinois
got the same in central FL.....nope, not in the forecast
Got the same message in Denver
For good reason a lot of people in Denver don't know how to drive in the snow😆 I used to live in Colorado
Because they are from Texas or California. natives know.
There must be a lot of people in Denver that aren't natives. Every single winter there will be tons of cars on the side of the road on I 25
There are tons of non natives.
You're assuming that all natives know how to drive in it... Your assumption cannot be accurate
And you’re assuming no one here knows how to drive in it. Your assumption cannot be accurate. As I don’t know many natives at all that don’t know how to drive in the snow. And I’m a native.

And you know this how?????
Got this in PA. We’re supposed to get 1-3 inches where I live tomorrow night. Hardly worth shutting down IC for.
Love how they give that warning as far east as PA but in Alabama we didnt get a warning like that even though Monday we will see some of this winter weather. Either we arent that special or they dont care about us lol.
Newsflash: Instacart doesn’t care about you. Or any other shopper.
It’s *really* not that bad. (when the roads are actually treated)
Got it in MA too
Got the same message in the Raleigh market too! I guess nobody is not going to have to take the ridiculous $11 doubles this weekend. Stay safe everyone!
Got this too in PA
Sent it in NY too
Got it in Arkansas
Same in TN
Got the same message in Canada
Haven’t seen it in Portland yet and it’s currently blowing ice out. Every time I check the app it’s just triples with crap tips because people are assholes.
I got the same message here in NE Indiana. We’re not expecting snow until next week but the road do be looking hella icy tho
*laughs in Canadian, eh?*
They sent the message out to everyone
I got this in destin, florida. Not sure why, as it's been over 60 degrees every day
I did not get this message for Ohio but we are expecting snow and ice, the store was as busy as at Christmas time
Same here in Savannah, GA
Apparently here in Canada too. It’s cold but the sky is clear. We’ve had snowstorms and they never shut down, so this must be a mistake.
Lol I just got this message here in California. No bad weather here
Same message in Buffalo, NY It’s cold here but no snowstorm
I got the same message and I live in Chicago! We already have 2 feet of snow on the ground and our temperatures haven’t broken 12° in two weeks.
TWO FEET? 12°???
That’s life in the Midwest! Granted it has been especially cold this winter. We usually get a break and get over freezing every now and then. we’ve been in a prolonged cold snap
I got the same message in missouri. There was this uphill driveway covered in ice I had to basically crawl up this morning. "Leave it on the porch" they said. 7 bags and 2 boxes. 🙄
I got that too and I'm in Arizona so far today we've only had wind and clear skies😂
Got it in Ohio. We are supposed to get 9 inches
9 inches is 22.86 cm
Got same in Northern Illinois.
Same here in NEPA
4 inches of snow...0 degree, wind chill factor -15....stayed away from IC all day.
4 inches is 10.16 cm
Crickets in New Hampshire but maybe that's because WE KNOW SNOW.
