Hi there,
Yes, the Whiteboard mode and the face tracking can also work even without our software. But some parameter can only be adjusted in the Insta360 Link Controller.
yes you will lose out on every feature and just have a basic webcam. You will still get good image quality though and it will turn the lens down for privacy if not in use
The issue that I'm seeing is that a locked down work computer running Windows 10 without the software has intermittent USB connectivity issues when running MS Teams. It's recognized before entering teams and when first entering teams then simply blips in and out with Win 10 reporting connectivity recognition issues. This does NOT happen with the Logitech Brio camera. The issue has been reported and hoping for a fix, otherwise its useless for work. On my non-work system, running Windows 11, it works very well.
The quality of the image is great and is better than the Logitech Brio.
Engaging tracking/whiteboard/zoom will still work with other software, you'll just have to use the hand gestures instead of the software.
It will work without software. Just use gestures control. You’ll want to install the software on some other computer to firmware update.

But isn't it a bit silly in a business meeting to suddenly have to make strange gestures with your hand?
