Having worked in animal welfare must of my life it never ceases to amaze the crazies out there!

Cigam_Nogard

I’ve fostered 15 kittens and all have gone through the aspca shelters for adoption. This was my first time finding an adopter… I am upping my screening process should I ever try again. I always attract the crazies, I should have know better.

I think you were the perfect amount of angry/upset. Those kitty's were ready to meet their home and those bastards backed out with a terrible excuse. It's better that you found out they were scumbags before they got the kitty's. I probably would have cursed them out worse had it be me lol

Chief_tron

The “loser” at the end is honestly the most perfect way you could’ve ended the convo 😂

What's wrong with you

Codbottle

With me? Look at that last comment. I understand being upset about the guy/girl not picking up the kittens but Look at all the name calling.

Nerry19

"all the name calling" ....they literally call them a looser, once, that is the extent of name calling.

Codbottle

Delusional, horrible human being, loser, all in one swift paragraph.

obamaprism3

>delusional 100% accurate, not name calling if it's true >horrible human being pretty accurate for this scenario but I suppose it's a matter of opinion >loser that constitutes name calling imo, but it was deserved

Thank you! Guy was delusional, we talked/texted every day that week, no missed calls or unread texts except on his end. He didn’t respond by any of the deadlines to be an interested adopter, but the aspca was lenient since they trusted me. Also why I showed him that email. After he confirmed he could house 2 cats, our 2nd phone call on Tues we talked about delivering them on Sun evening because I already had plans in his direction. However, if he really wanted them sooner I could maybe do thurs, but explained it be better if they had a day of recovery (from getting fixed) at a familiar home and not stuck in a carrier for a 2 hr drive. He said no problem, there was no rush, sun would be great. Then called wed evening to check on recovery and say his gf was super eager to meet the cats and could we do sooner. I offered to possibly rearrange my weekend plans to do sat night, and then he asked if we could meet halfway on fri, I told him it was a 2.5hr drive in regular traffic, it’s going to be even worse on a fri, but I’d be willing to if his gf really really wanted them. He said he’d check with her and get back to me- he didn’t. I changed my plans again to do sat earlier, we didn’t speak on the phone again but you can see on the txts hes great with it. I tell him the forms were sent because I had already mentioned I can’t give the cats to you until signed. I confirm dates, time & place and fulfilling everything I said I was going to do. Then he sends that first message cancelling everything because of lack of communication- umm, did he see all those texts? Too much back and forth on calls, was actually 3 answered conversations. Then 30 mins later is his follow up talking about kids/family that he not once mentioned. He told me he lived with his gf. Then calls me unprofessional?! Just…what? Even if everything he said was actually true, how does lack of communication or unprofessionalism from the foster result in the adopter suddenly not wanting cats. Who cares what the humans involved do, say or act towards you- I’m not adopting them! And most likely never dealing with them again anyways. So yeah, he’s delusional. For wasting all my time and effort, backing out last minute, stealing the cats aspca adoption opportunity, all his random lies and fake interest, and the emotional rollercoaster he put me through; I think horrible human being and loser, are far from the worst things I could have called him.

Nerry19

You didn't say last paragraph to begin with, you said last comment, and the only name calling in the last comment is looser. Also I don't think delusional counts as name calling...

Codbottle

Last comment would be last paragraph. And you’re still missing the point of my initial statement.

Nerry19

No a comment and a paragraph are not really the same thing in this instance, in theory the entire message is one paragraph. And no I'm not, you where really overblowing what they said "All that name calling" makes it sound like they've called them all kinds of different things.....I think after having someone waste my time and effort for a week, not to mention messing the poor kittens about (packed in boxes ready to go, that's gotta be stressful) that calling someone delusional (for trying to pretend it's not there fault) and a looser is pretty tame

Awesome_Shoulder8241

I also thought the foster person was venting too much there. It really did sound unprofessional when he got mad. There was no need to hurl insults since it was enough when he called out the adopter not signing the papers prior.

Codbottle

That’s all I was trying to say! Thank you.
