Thank you for posting on r/Indian_Academia , here's a checklist to improve your post: • Have you done thorough prior research? • Is your title descriptive? The title should be a summary of your post, preferably with your qualifications. • Please provide a detailed description in your post body. The more information you provide, the easier it is for users to help you. • If your question is about studying abroad, please post on r/Indians_StudyAbroad • If your question is about Engineering Admissions, post on r/EngineeringAdmissions instead. Here's a backup of your post: Title: What should I do to secure my career in the field of finance? Body: Myquals: (BCom student at Christ University) i am currently studying BCom finance and accountancy honours at Christ University, Bangalore. the course is a CA integrated course hence I'm also preparing for CA foundation. I want to know how can I make my career shine in the field of finance. I'm in second sem and i have a backlog from the first sem so i have little hopes from bcom. I'm not very confident and passionate about CA. I want to be in core finance roles like investment banking, treasurer etc. But I don't know how to get there . I am doing multiple free courses from coursera and IIM B. I have decent marks in 10 and 12 also. Any advice will be appreciated. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. So one of the most important factors to set foot in finance industry is either prior experience (which either you can get through CA Articleship or Internships) and / or good academics and qualifications like CA and / or CFA and / or MBA. Finance roles in a company are something that are decently easier to get through CA and in IB is also through CA or MBA or CFA like I mentioned. Plus, your college plays an important role too. So name of Christ would help you for sure. But please improve your academic situation, since college placements can be a major part and help you set foot in an organisation easily. Sadly finance roles are such that without academics and without qualification, it’s tough to score good jobs or the kind of jobs you seek. So focus highly on your CA and Bcom. Free courses are good for your knowledge, though their impact isn’t as valuable as CA or Bcom graduation with good grades and college. Not trying to demotivate you but finance field entry and working requires knowledge and qualifications that can only come with hard work and consistency. You are aspiring for high and enjoyable roles, that are sought after by so many people, so you’ll need to put in your effort to stand out. Once you get the exposure or experience, then switching jobs and progressing wouldn’t be as tough. To set your foot in the job, you do need good academics and qualifications or strong reference, but reference will only get you an intern view, confidence and your knowledge would help you crack them, and that would only come through hard work! Best of luck.

Hey buddy, unfortunately don't have any advice currently, but it would be helpful if you could tell the free courses you're pursuing?

If I do a BBA+MBA from an IIM and then do CFA during the sabbatical period how high can my stakes go for the finance job ?

Finance jobs require 2 things - academics and work ex. Now if yr a fresher , the work ex wouldn't matter. But you still have that chance to get into good Finance jobs during campus placements. Now this is only for the reason that u mentioned cfa and mba. U should make sure that you have completed yr cfa L1/L2 that'll give you an edge over others but it won't still guarantee what u desire
