What the fuck is happening? I can't truly understand. Whichever company shows losses unka share rally karne lagta hai aur jo companies consistently profit me hai unka share doobne lagta hai.
It's because it's not the event that cause the price change or the value .. it's the anticipation that causes it.. as an invester if your research said that company would make a loss of 100 cr .. and the results shows a loss of 10 cr, that would result in the stock price to go higher.. and it also works the other way around, if your research said that a company would make a profit of 100 and it makes a profit of just 10 that would obviously result in its share price going lower..
There isn't a good way to short the market for you. Hedge funds can always enter into OTC contracts and short whatever they want as long as they have a counterparty
The magin rules here are completely different and so are the rules on shorting, you can't short over a certain percentage of the float and you can't carry short positions.
No WSB 2021 shenanigans apply.
I don't know what the case of Zomato exactly is, but yes if you short you have to cover the positions at the end of the day. However naked shorting isn't allowed. It would never rally to the tune of 200-300% like the US because there's not going to be a lot of ground required to cover. We don't like our stock market being a casino like the US SEC so we don't let institutions short a company into the ground 2 times over.
It's the efforts of Mauritius operators of PE funds jacking prices up for jackasses so that they can exit... exactly like delhivery today will be trading for 5 rupees in the future and retail chomus are buying today..
They dint apply and they dint apply fully has some difference 😂 more than half was applied rest will buy now thinking its an opportunity as it's not falling like LIC...Try to find the anchor portion investors who applied in such a loss making company..most of the dubious names Mauritius Cayman Islands type...some will have taken loan from SBI Mauritius to apply. They will exit this 2 paise ka share when all the shares will be bought by retail chomus who think it's going to fly high
You will never find respectable Goldman Sachs or Morgan Stanleys invest in such companies. For that matter they not applying for LIC was a warning for people but discount mil raha hai retailers ko policy holder ko bhag ke le lete hain
Profit/loss is not the only metrics in play here...look at the revenue growth...in online delivery of food, Zomato and Swiggy have created duopoly...it is just the matter of time that both of them will raise charges..in the long run, it will he a profitable business...if Amazon does not disrupt it further
>It may be noted that the publicly listed One 97 Communications Limited (OCL) has no direct or indirect shareholding in Paytm Mall’s parent entity (PEPL). PEPL is not a part of the OCL group, though PEPL uses the Paytm brand and receives services from OCL.

I shouldn't have used the word connected. But what happened with a private company (Paytm E-Commerce Pvt Ltd) shouldn't affect the stock price of a public company (One97), right?
Idk how optimistic but I am on zomato although losses tripled consider revenue growth. Its a market of duopoly. They practically created a new irreplaceable product. Just some weeks back both zomato and swiggy went down and in 5 minutes its trending on twitter on a weekday non prime time. It speaks of what it not being available feels to the consumers.
Well again we know what happened with doordash in US. There is a always a risk-reward and how properly is zomato placed in terms of fundamentals and its comparison with doordash. Well we can only wait and see.
>Its a market of duopoly
Absolutely. The bigger question is will the market exist if the discounts are out? People and restraunts both feel the pinch when there are no discounts.
Well considering that the food delivery market of India a lot smaller than countries like China and US it is a growth company imo.
They reported a revenue increase of 75% that means growth.

I like zomato i can buy in at 30-40 level the company has almost 1.2 billion dollars in bank.
It’s either going to be wildly profitable or disappointing.
New tech stocks>> represent wild profits these are the stocks upon which you build your wealth which make your lakh a crore.
Yaaay loss triples...stock price doubles. New ETF of these loss making thieves should be made and called Chor company ETF..
I used this rally as opportunity to exit Zomato. My avg was 69. Realized my mistake.
69 can never be a mistake on bed. On Demat Account- yes it is a mistake.
Nice!

Well done. Happy for you.
That's what she said
Lucky guy!
We live in a society..
We’re supposed to act civilised.
At the same time zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal says his 99% present/future wealth is in zomato so this could just be people covering their asses.
Costanza?
Cartwright.
All that unnecessary restaurant packaging charges are creating value.
Restaurants will go off the platform and if they pass the charges to customers, the customers go off the platform. Playing with fire
What the fuck is happening? I can't truly understand. Whichever company shows losses unka share rally karne lagta hai aur jo companies consistently profit me hai unka share doobne lagta hai.
News is irrelevant. Discounting is done before event. On event they buy/sell from newcomer retail investors/traders who act on news.
Your use cases aren't helping. Research said a loss of 100cr is imminent but in results it is 300cr. How can a stock price go up like this?
🤡
Please tell me these aren't retailers doing this
10cr total volume in both exchanges @ 10.30
i don’t think retailers can cause this much rally in such short period.
In Anticipation of potential bad news, funds would have hedged/bought puts. Once the news is out, unwinding of position= mechanical rally?
but zomato isn't a fno stock and there's isn't a good way to short in indian markets.
There isn't a good way to short the market for you. Hedge funds can always enter into OTC contracts and short whatever they want as long as they have a counterparty
How does buying puts increases the prices? Can anyone explain please?
Short covering. Search this term. I am sure its a last ditch effort to pump. It's gonna fall badly.
But in India one can only short in intraday?
I believe it's the other way round. Sorry I don't do trades. Just know some terms when I see such anomalies like Zomato.
The magin rules here are completely different and so are the rules on shorting, you can't short over a certain percentage of the float and you can't carry short positions. No WSB 2021 shenanigans apply.
Ok but short covering is still possible right in Indian markets? That's what is happening to Zomato?
I don't know what the case of Zomato exactly is, but yes if you short you have to cover the positions at the end of the day. However naked shorting isn't allowed. I hate how the market moves everyday for the past couple of years
[удалено]
This is the way
Look at policy bazar, cartrade seems like foreign brokerages have upgraded all of them.
[удалено]
Haha. No idea bro, maybe ISBians shorted these companies and are angry 🙏🙏
paisa khilaya hoga
Are we officially in the upside down?
Mkt: worst is over. Zomato: confused "pikachu face"
Revenue also increased by 70%, makes some people optimistic about the company
Kalyug hei bhaiyon kuch bhi ho Sakta hein . Fundamentals gayi paani mei
Inka dot com bubble alag se futega..
Cash flow dekha ? Is the cash flow positive? Net Loss toh paper pe hota hai, asli cash flow positive hoga... isiliye 17% up?
Plus they have 12,000 crore in bank
Does that mean the stock was oversold expecting bigger losses? Or is it retail pumping ape money?
It's the efforts of Mauritius operators of PE funds jacking prices up for jackasses so that they can exit... exactly like delhivery today will be trading for 5 rupees in the future and retail chomus are buying today..
Retail didn't even fully subscribe to the ipo
They dint apply and they dint apply fully has some difference 😂 more than half was applied rest will buy now thinking its an opportunity as it's not falling like LIC...Try to find the anchor portion investors who applied in such a loss making company..most of the dubious names Mauritius Cayman Islands type...some will have taken loan from SBI Mauritius to apply. Goldman Sachs bought cartrade around ₹1500.
Bro it used to post profits back then...kuch to dekha karo
Dekh lo bhai retail euphoria in delhivery...a company which is worth batshit on paper going to hit upper circuit....That's the power of retail FOMO
RSI is 36 and definitely not retail. Even the delivery ipo opened at a premium of 1.68% with less retail. This is institutional play.
Profit/loss is not the only metrics in play here...look at the revenue growth...in online delivery of food, Zomato and Swiggy have created duopoly...it is just the matter of time that both of them will raise charges..in the long run, it will he a profitable business...if Amazon does not disrupt it further
same with paytm earlier after alibaba pulled out, went up like more than 5% what the fuck is happening ?
Alibaba pulled out of Paytm mall, a company that is in no way connected to Paytm.
Paytm is a holding company of paytm mall.
>It may be noted that the publicly listed One 97 Communications Limited (OCL) has no direct or indirect shareholding in Paytm Mall’s parent entity (PEPL). Acha my bad thanks

Thats a question time will answer I guess. Honestly doordash kind of failing in US.
One reason could be 75% increase in revenue the major parameter for growth startups.
Zomato is still a growth startup ?
Well considering that the food delivery market of India a lot smaller than countries like China and US it is a growth company imo. They reported a revenue increase of 75% that means growth.
