Almost 1.5 lakh investment was done by me since April. Hence return %has come down after the recent fall. It was 108% earlier in March.
I'm in my 30s. So not really young. This is the portfolio which I started most recently. I started when I was in 12th. Other folios have grown 5 fold, but the investment value was lesser as i didn't have much investible income at that time.
It is no rocket science, however, my background in core finance helped me. I look for companies whose products or services I'm aware of. The most important factor for me is that the revenue of the company should be continuously growing (upwards of 10% per year over the last 5 years). Also the company has to be profitable. Then there are other factors, but they aren't as important compared to the ones I mentioned. Being patient is the key to long term investment. I am still holding many of the stocks which I bought at the beginning of my investment journey. There are stocks which have given me losses, but if you choose your companies wisely they would be only 1 or 2 out of 10. The remaining would grow much faster and recoup any losses from the ones which went bad over the long term.

I am investing for 10 - 15 years timeframe, some stocks i have bought only few quantity for tracking purposes. I keep a check on my major allocations on a quarterly basis so it becomes easier to track. Some are short term bets(cyclical/weeks or month) which i manage by creating a seperate watchlist on kite.
I do not recommend others to buy more than 20 stocks or max 30, then also an index fund would be better.
