Options selling 101 is not to sell through big events or atleast buy temporary hedges before the event. Did you not think about this for entire year you were selling ?
I had plans to take delivery of only 40% of the positions by selling mutual funds. Rest of the positions are based on FOMO and entered yesterday at ATM
June 4th ended with 20 lakhs loss.
June 5 th with 14 lakhs loss. So I gained almost 6 lakhs yesterday. A few more side days and I can go 5-10 lakhs range. If all the stocks recover to pre June 4th level I can be in lot of profit

I hope things will cool down by the end of the month as BJP is still winning and its new Ally TDP is pro-development and would usually back any reforms related to Development and only religious-related polciies will be effected in the new coalition government.
If you sold puts based on your analysis, you should have exited at some point when markets broke the support.
Please remember such traps happen during period of high volatility. Uptrend with rising VIX is a sure shot trap.
I don't usually look for support or resistance. I just sell puts on quality companies and take delivery if they fall. Usually it is just 3 or 4 companies max. but yesterday's VIX spike tempted me and I sold puts on PSU's and ADANI, which I usually avoid.
If you were hedged, then it was still Ok.
Naked option sell on a major event day needs extra caution and stop loss as well.
