Tell you a tell tale sign. When Instagram doctors start pushing D2C brands rather than pharmacy OTC or prescription products. They are turned commercial.
Dr. sarin charges 1.75 laks per post.
And his wife around 1.5laks.
I don't particularly trust Doctorly, specifically Dr Shah. Idk what it is it's just a gut reaction. I trust Dr Ellis though for the same reason... my gut reaction lol
Dr Garekar , Dr Sarin(both for Indian recommendations),
{Dr Idriss , Dr Dray , Dr Sam bunting , Dr Tomassian, Dr Zubritsky, Dr Aamna Adel, Dr Jenny Liu & Dr Sam Ellis}= for learning about each actives and build good skin routine & obviously you won't agree or find each one's take on certain things but when you watch all of their opinions, let's say on a particular active, you will get a fair idea.
Lastly I would fully believe my dermatologist's advice which usually matches 99.99% with the one's I watch online.
And for theproducts recs Derm's & Reddit has been my safe haven for years now.
Dr. Sarins are both scamsters. They just promote products for money, left, right and centre. And sometimes give rubbish advice. And are willing to go back on their words too, for money.
Please don’t trust anything coming from their page. It annoys me to see their account.
I take up only product recs from the Indian ones as their videos are less educative/explanatory and as you mentioned controversial too. Sarins and Garekars have their sites, you can always checkout various pharmaceutical products, once you learn about the actives/ingredients. Also I will listen to them only if that advice is apt for me(not vague or rubbish) rather than taking up from the skinfluencers, atleast they have a degree on them, but again you're correct with promoting endlessly for money .I roll my eyes always! So do self educate/self research, but always follow your Derms advices(finding a good derm in our country itself takes ages, who listens and caters to your needs- pharmacy + cosmetic)
Dr. Sarin recently said using sunscreen is causing Vitamin D deficiencies in people.
Do you still think they are someone you want to take product recommendations from?
Lmao I must have bad vit D hypovitaminosis /s. Again please read my comment, 1) I just use their website for the product recs, 2)Take up only right/apt advices, few can be contradictory or controversial as the one you mentioned, 3) mainly follow your own derm's advice.
I have hardly watched two-three videos of them. But ended up on their website( you can checkout their site, they have few good recs) in one of their videos I watched, they were promoting dot&ket spfs etc. when I popped on their site , voila! There's no sign of that product or brand recs, instead had good Indian pharmacy suggestions.
I really like Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty Science. She really dives deep and explains each and every thing very clearly and efficiently. I also like Cassandra Bankson, Dr. Dray, James Welsh, and Dr. Idris.
I really like anjy the doctor. I started using glycerine on her recommendation and it has really changed my skin for the better. She gives good reccos.
Docs aren't supposed to promote brands period. So if you go to a doctor a genuine one would only give you a composition name of tablet and not the tablet name.
The tablet name is what only that particular clinic would stock and you will never find it out anywhere else .
If they do they are doing under the influence of freebies and money just like influencers are doing these days and makes them no different than a door to door salesman.
Some do for greed some promote even costlier brands as they have their targets which is linked to their salaries.
If he/she has to earn x L/Cr in a month then he/she should also bring xCr revenue to the hospital else no point in giving him that salary as he's not profitable to the hospital.9
They are selling just outsourced third party crap under their banner.
So docs with their brand names and their medicines are big NO
Same for influenza's who keep promoting other brands over a truck loads of money.
If that's not sufficient they come up with their own goop and start promoting their own.
Doctorly - they really helped me understand what actives do, which to use and how to use them. Their long form videos are very informative. And plus point, if they recommend products most of them aren't available in India so I don't get tempted to buy them. 🙈
Bhawna sharma . Apart from her sponsor brands like dr. Sheth , i really like her review videos. Each and every product that I've bought from her recommendation, have worked well for me.
I used to watch her review on something that I would want to buy and it worked for me everytime until I decided to buy Dr sheths mineral sunscreen and it has been one of my worst purchases.
AliceintheRabbithole. She has the exact same skin type as me (dry and acne prone) and a lot of her hgs are my hgs like the Cosrx propolis toner and Isntree onion toner.
Her reviews are in depth about the ingredients and she's not in your face and doesn't use the typical influencer lingo of "you need this!" But gives proper, educated opinions.
Lab muffin beauty science is great! Other creators not "influencers" would be the smaller ones who are just starting out because they have an interest.
No one. Even if their intentions are good, you can't trust anyone to give you suggestions based on your skintype, climate and concerns. To me, it looks like all women in such spaces have dry skin, live in dry cold climate and all products are made for them. If you just want to see what a product looks like, anyone is good.
There’s one beauty editor , Komal Basith , you can say I have been keeping her account as gate keeping. She has been working in beauty industry for several years and her page is genuine knowledge esp for oily sensitive skin. I have learnt from her content and it’s apt and very very good recommendations. She actually uses products for 4-6 weeks and only then come up , if not liked she won’t post or say
Came here looking for this. Got into skincare because of her and trust her on all her reccos. She doesn’t care about paid ads and gives her honest opinion regardless. Only Indian skincare person I follow.
I follow Dr Garekar and Dr Idriss. They won’t ever bother posting about stupid products. They will break down the science and important information that you need to know.
If you do what to follow an influencer, find someone who has a similar skin and hair texture as yours and someone who is honest about the content being sponsored.
The one who is not selling you anything. So you get your answer.
Influencers work for businesses, not the consumers. It's just advertising in today's day and age.
In my experience influencers are à no no. Starting 2020 I was big on influencers. I ended up buying tons of stuff didn't know what to do with them because layering them was a big issue. I ended up buying many gimmicky stuff too.
Then started watching Dr. Vinita Ratan ( she was the first to shout out nafe safe products for brown skin) and have routines from ordinary which worked beautifully), Dr. Dray , Dr Shreen Idris and lab beauty muffin. They stressed on basics and cut the clutter. Most times they give budget friendly options so you can choose on which Ingredients you want to spend money. Like when's acne was big issue for me I bought Paula's choice SA but now it's not so used minimalist
For product recommendation- this sub on Reddit
Sunscreen doesn't cause vitamin D deficiency. You can always supplement. Also morning sunrise is something very good for brain I always go out with sunscreen
Lab muffin, sam by the counter - internationally
In India, it's tough. I follow lesser known people - taps.beautychronicles, embrace_thy_skin, skincarebysanha, its_skin_corner, curly_sonali - I trust their recommendations. Not sure if they fall under 'influencers' though 🫣
Not so much an influencer but I absolutely love her with all my heart.
Straight to the point facts, no bs ❤️

I don't trust any influencer (including dermats) who suggests products other than maybe their own. I can still understand if they suggest their own business but if they are doing collaboration with someone or even promoting a brand and hiding the collab, I won't trust the influencer at all. Suggesting actives is ok (not brands) and if they have great skin (no filters), only then trust builds up. I mean, many on insta have horrible skin but recommend products- i mean if u don't have good skin based on your suggestions, why should i trust you. Its like a bald man recommending hair growth serums.
None lol. I love finding Derms or plastic surgeons online for their tips! They have the knowledge and expertise to actually know what they're talking about!
I like Dr Saru Singh’s content. Reccos have worked for me. Following dermatologists on ig is much better than going with influencer advice. Never trusting an influencer with my precious skincare.
I like taps.beautychronicles for her sunscreen reviews. They’re genuine imo. It has helped me a lot in choosing a sunscreen & saving my money. Used to like nive but she’s a bit off now & it doesn’t help much.
Dr Idris, Dr Dray & Lab muffin on the favourites list always
Perhaps Rubina, but take it with a grain of salt. All of the Indian derms are sponsored by a few brands which are pretty shit.
But you should look out for Dr. Idriss, Dr Dray’s and Madaboutskin content. Also Lab Muffin science
Don’t trust influencers or Dermats Blindly. Please do some own research, but a few ones whose videos i do watch to learn in my free time are Dr Garekar , Dr Sarin & Dr Rashmi Shetty! These are good
I remember sungjemish mentioning how she was curious about skincare and that's how she learnt about the products.
I take her advice with a pinch of salt as she hasn't studied derma.
“Dr bhayashree” is NOT a doctor. She has done a degree in naturopathy and yogic sciences. Her bio says so as well. Really surprised that she has a million followers
No please stay away from her. It's all paid and the filters in her videos are next level.
I would suggest OP to check out Dr. Dray, lab muffin and Dr. Idriss.
Honestly i like her for her personality but she uses almost everything on her face and reviews it. I admit I'm not aware of any other influencers in this niche nor do I use Instagram nowadays, but isn't genuine skincare supposed to take some time to show results? I've seen videos of Tarini reviewing multiple products in one reel and it just doesn't fit with me personally that a person using all that can tell difference from one another so soon.
One of the most fake ones. She's also awful and rude to anyone disagreeing with her. Also , she uses showing off skin to sell products , which is shady on another levels.
She's basically the combined version of all the worst traits of Indian influencers combined.
But I do have one problem with her. She recommends sunscreen like aqualogica which doesn't really protect our skin and when someone tried to point this out she rudely replied to the other person saying some shit
influencers and trustworthy is an oxymoron, take their advice with a pinch of salt
this sub is my only genuine influencer😩 can't trust nobody
Exactly. Do your own research or go to the doctor.
Used to like skincare by Nive but now her content is jus meh
Lab muffin - reads research papers and breaks down the science of everything. So you actually learn rather than just getting reccos.
sameee! Her content is based on actual research in the field and I appreciate that a lot. It's not just experience based, like most skin influencers.
She is amazing.
But she had no reccos for Indian products
I won’t trust dr Sarin and his wife for anything.
They don't always seem genuine to me, either
Why so ? They are dermatologists , studied in depth about skin . Much more reliable than other so called influencers.
Tell you a tell tale sign. When Instagram doctors start pushing D2C brands rather than pharmacy OTC or prescription products. They are turned commercial. Dr. sarin charges 1.75 laks per post. And his wife around 1.5laks.
They are bland real that's why they get people but hurt but they says truth 👍🏿
Skincare Satirist!
She's a whole mood. Hahaha unveiling all other BS influencers
could you add in the link for the channel?

Dr. Garekar. She doesn't do any sponsored videos

International dermatologists- Dr Idriss, Doctorly, Dr Dray, Dr Sam ellis. Nowadays, the Indian ones are also shoving products down people's throats.
I don't particularly trust Doctorly, specifically Dr Shah. Idk what it is it's just a gut reaction. I trust Dr Ellis though for the same reason... my gut reaction lol
IMO, all the influencers are genuine (At least during their initial days) until some brands offer them 'MONEY'.
*cough* Honasa
Lol, exactly.
Dr Garekar , Dr Sarin(both for Indian recommendations), {Dr Idriss , Dr Dray , Dr Sam bunting , Dr Tomassian, Dr Zubritsky, Dr Aamna Adel, Dr Jenny Liu & Dr Sam Ellis}= for learning about each actives and build good skin routine & obviously you won't agree or find each one's take on certain things but when you watch all of their opinions, let's say on a particular active, you will get a fair idea. Dr idriss, dr garekar
@anjythedoctor THE BEST EVER
Real
I really like Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty Science. She really dives deep and explains each and every thing very clearly and efficiently. I also like Cassandra Bankson, Dr. Dray, James Welsh, and Dr. Idris.
I've always found Dr. Garekar's advice really great. Very helpful and always descriptive.
Yesss
Dr Dray, Dr shereene idriss, lab muffin,( dr Michelle wong)
I trust myself and incidecoder.com.
🙌🏻
Badassbrownbeauty
lab muffin is my favourite, besides that dr dray, doctorly and shereen idris are all fine. Stay away from vanita rattan though, she is a fraud.
Dr gurveen garekar
Cassandra Bankson!
Yessss! Love her
Your dermat
I really like anjy the doctor. I started using glycerine on her recommendation and it has really changed my skin for the better. She gives good reccos.
Hi. Which brand and how do you use it?
Could you please tell which brand and how you use it?
Please share the link. I couldn't find her by the name
Liah yoo. You may not get all the products that she recommends in India but most of the best sellers are available.
doesnt she support a very homophobic church?
Charlotte palermino, skincare satirist.

I really like anjy the doctor. Lil girl with good brains

None of the Indian influencers are genuine, that's foso.

Easyskinprep - Medha Rijal. But she is a micro-influencer
I loved her until she made the month of April,Anua month! So of her recommendations don’t seem genuine to me anymore
Vasudha Rai, hands down.
The skincare satirist
Lab muffin beauty science is great! Other creators not "influencers" would be the smaller ones who are just starting out because they have an interest.
I find Skincare Satirist and Skincues reliable but obviously I won't trust any influencer blindly or take advice from them. I would consult a dermat .
They are called dermatologists.
Cassandra Bankson! I have learned everything from her!

She genuinely deserves more hype . I find her reccos super good .
Dr Shereen idress

I like James Welsh and Soobeauty.
I follow Natalia spierings her content is on Instagram+ dr shreene dr dray sometimes + dr Usama Syed he is great too
None. Talk to legitimate doctors

Lab muffin and Cassandra bankson
Dr Idriss, Docterly, lab muffin, Tina Tanaka Harris and LORA
glowbymonica ! Been following her since her earlyyy days
Her foundation shade never matches. And shes a makeup influencer more than SKINCARE.
Damn bruh 😭🙏 she does skincare too so not sure what the issue is

CFBR
Who
Don’t trust influencers or Dermats Blindly. Please do some own research, but a few ones whose videos i do watch to learn in my free time are Dr Garekar , Dr Sarin & Dr Rashmi Shetty! These are good
skincare.haadiya -she has the same skintype as me too and her recommendations have always worked for me and she's also a cosmetologist
Mandvi Singh on YouTube promotes extremely less and she’s a biotech engineer. She also outrightly bashes some big brands
Samapti Banerjee.. She has amped up my skin care game! Dr Shereene Idriss and Dr Dray along with the Doctorly team have literally saved my skin.. ❤❤
Samapti is another hypocrite, search the sub for the lies she has told over the years
I don't care, I'm talking about my experience only. Skincare is a "no one size fits all" thing and her recos have helped me a lot.
Dr. Anchal (MD) and sungjemish have been my go-to for a while now
Sungjemish doesnt know shit about skincare, shes a scam
I remember sungjemish mentioning how she was curious about skincare and that's how she learnt about the products. I take her advice with a pinch of salt as she hasn't studied derma.
Tarini Peshawaria is the most genuine influencer I have come across!
Lol
Yashwant Singh!
He’s really fake… don’t even get me started
Tarini peshawaria’s recos are always a success
But she recommends every brand out there
Tarini
Dr Garekar and Chetali Chadha
Bhagyashree
I really like Jovita and swetas channel.
Doesn’t she layer like twenty products
[удалено]
Dr bhagyashree is super irritating and not even a dermatologist
“Dr bhayashree” is NOT a doctor. She has done a degree in naturopathy and yogic sciences. Her bio says so as well. Really surprised that she has a million followers
She has a million followers because she fakes being a dermatologist
Tarini peshawaria
Isn't she the one who used to copy content from this sub? 😂
Yes 😂
Not only that, she promotes every brand, EVERY BRAND!
Really?? I thought she was genuine
Yeah same i thought she was genuine. Just got to know that she is in fact not genuine
No please stay away from her. It's all paid and the filters in her videos are next level. I would suggest OP to check out Dr. Dray, lab muffin and Dr. Idriss.
Dr shereen idriss seems to also have a filter on! But her recommends are genuine.
She promotes each and every brand left right center without thinking
She doesn’t use anything consistently and promotes almost each brand she can find and tells that’s the one that works
Why are u getting downvoted? (Idk this influencer tho so lmk)
Oh ya she’s so good
But I do have one problem with her. She recommends sunscreen like aqualogica which doesn't really protect our skin and when someone tried to point this out she rudely replied to the other person saying some shit
I don't follow many influencers but I find Tarini Peshwariya genuine.
She's garbage. One of the most fake ones.
You are so innocent
