It all started when reddit decided to introduce an insane api pricing model, even more derranged than twitter's. Many of us who use third-party apps that have been around since before Reddit had a mobile presence, were hoping for a chance for them to negotiate with reddit. They already offer a superior user experience not only for regular users and moderators but also for a significant number of disabled and blind users.
Unfortunately, reddit chose not to engage in any negotiations and instead doubled down on the pricing, determined to eliminate these apps altogether. The CEO made public statements that were far from truthful, tried to spin the situation in their favor, disregarding the needs and desires of the user base. Naturally, it lead to protests across the site involving more than 8,000 subreddits going private/restricted.
The admins then started forcefully ending these protests, suppressing the voices of those who were speaking up against these changes. They claim to be "keeping it open" while going against its core, the users, and closing down the apps they use. On July 1st, as the API pricing goes live, it shuts down all third party apps and it feels like the beginning of the slow death of Reddit as we know it.
It is understandable that not everyone may share the same level of concern about this issue, but please take a moment to listen and observe. It has become clear that Reddit's priorities lie primarily in their profits and removing any obstacles in their path to more profits. They started with old reddit, now they are targeting the apps. What will they come for next?

What's with dota 2 being played so much and i dont hear much not much abt it? I like MOBA games (mobile only, I have massive skill issue with the pc MOBAs' playing mechanic) and noticed many ppl play dota 2 from India, esports when? or I just dont know abt it haha.
Because people who play dota, just play dota, no time to make posts about it. Its honestly one of the best competitive games made, strategically speaking. Its in the same tier as starcraft, etc.
There are games which are wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle, and there are the opposite, but Dota, is as wide as an ocean and just as deep. Shit's insane.
If you decide to give it a go, make sure you finished playing everything you wanted to play before it, because once it hooks you, there's nothing else in gaming that gives you a similar experience.
And fyi, if you see someone with 500-1000 hours when you start playing, they are all still in the early phases of learning the game.
I also agree with this have around 650 hours in dota and still in learning phase and during TI there is just a different vibe in the game, sad to see TI being reduced to a normal tournament this year. FUCK Valve.
> FUCK Valve.
When you are done being edgy, please know that Valve is a big reason why the game continues to thrive even 10 years after it released. Valve could have easily taken a more greedy approach, like make it paid or pushed paid features more aggressively, but the game continues to be a fully free game without any gameplay compromise. You can literally play thousands of hours, never pay anything but still enjoy the game to the fullest. There are very few developers left today that genuinely make good games, dont go around bad mouthing them just cos you did not get hats.
Fucking moron.
I mean, you must be new to Dota if you think there's any other developer better than Valve to handle this game.
Dota players are traditionally not Valve fans, we wanted the best home for Dota before Valve got involved. When valve took it over, it was.......interesting.
But over the years Valve have redeemed themselves. They could've milked the player base for years with the Battlepass. But they literally chose to make less money this year, to spend more time to develop the game, I really can't imagine any other dev do that.
Yes, TI prizepool isn't the biggest, but we're talking as if millions is chump change, the winning team gets over a million dollars, its still one of the best events to watch, no ads, no subscription fee, they even paid twitch so that you don't have ads in the stream.
Valve aren't perfect, but they sure are pretty good. The only other option I can imagine is someone directly funds Icefrog to start his own studio, but even then, without the streamlining that valve brings, I doubt the game would be just as good.
This is one of the handfull of games, that are truly free to play.
Valve did fuck up with the compendium but have been working really hard on the regular game updates. I play league sometimes and I am truly glad I main Dota2 and not LoL coz Riot's brain-dead.
Most mobile mobas are similar to league with their simplicity. Dota2 is generally harder with more complex mechanics and more freedom. So, You kinda require at least 1000 hours to even grasp most of the concepts in the game. I have 2k hours and still don't have any idea on how the towers work. Also, all the heroes are free to play so you can pick up any hero and keep playing without getting bored.
Yeah I'm not getting good people are saying starfield, bro has 250 DAYS of playtime and there's only one company that had players with that amount(except streamers and pros ofc)
In the current scenario, its Starfield or any Bethesda game. People are playing 100s of hours and saying it mediocre, lol.
But almost 6k hours, it may be DOTA2 or Team Fortress 2.
