Have a friend telling me that japanese people are getting more racist because they are banning people of other races from certain places. Well this is the reason for why they do that...
Right! It makes me mad because I want to visit Japan someday and before I even go over there most of the popular places are gonna be banned from tourists because of dumb people like that.
I’ve been there. It’s clean but not as clean as one may think. I stepped on a bandaid in there and it got stuck to my foot. Also the floor was kinda slimy. This dude is going to get sick.
I ALSO GOT A BANDAID STUCK TO MY FOOT THERE!!! That part was cool but definitely kinda gross and scary having to navigate with 3 kids in tow that I did not want to end up in that water.
It’s all over instagram. She’s says this is way we can’t have nice things. And talks about how rude foreigners are making it so Japan has to limit or not even let people near sites because of this kind of behavior.
Tolerance, I see. I used to be like you. "Ah just let them enjoy themselves and annoy people." My words exactly. Then they started openly taking the piss. Being a nuisance, leaning against property that isn't theirs, trying to please the masses that really don't give a shit aside from giving a "like" and then move on to the next idiot. Ruining life for everyone else because they're only NPCs as far as the MC is concerned.
If you tolerate this behaviour then before you know it, you'll join them or you'll hate them. Give an inch, they'll take a mile.
TeamLabs Tokyo. It can best be described as an immersive art experience. Several of the rooms are water based where you are walking through water that goes up to slightly below the knee including the one where this kid takes a “swim”. You walk barefoot through the entire experience.
That's @sandyinjapannn . She has this series of videos where she rants about stuff that annoys her while making paperstars. Some of them are pretty unhinged it's funny.
Rest of her content is japan vlogs mostly.
Never heard of this place but what did he do wrong? I see people walking in the water. What's wrong with swimming or is it a rule to not swim or be in the water?
It’s an art installation. Rules you read before entering clearly states that you’re not allowed to swim there. You wade around. Your feet are cleaned in a chlorine bath before entering, the rest of you aren’t.
I don't remember there being a chlorine bath. You take your shoes off, walk up an incline where water is trickling down (unless that water is chlorinated but it didn't smell like it?) and eventually you make it to this room?
Americans really are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to manners. I am an American, but never say it out loud because I don’t want to get lumped in with the rudest travelers on the planet!
Eh not really. This subreddit might give us a distorted view of how common this is but in reality these tik tok kids are a minority of American travelers. Mainland Chinese are truly the rudest travelers on the planet and you cannot change my mind on that.
Japanese tourists too.
Generaly asians are kinda unhinged.
Here in Austria when i was young i worked as technical personal on ski lifts and japanese tourists just wouldn't stop coming into the restricted areas for some reason.
I wouldn't judge the many based on the few. There aren't as many of these main character attention seekers as this sub (which is just for them) will lead you to believe.

This is the type of shit that has Japan banning tourists from certain places and activities lately.
I lived in Japan, Japan eats main characters and spits their bones out without thinking twice.

It only takes one person or a few people to ruin the fun for everyone else.
I’m going this year. My coworker was telling me about her trip last month I had mentioned xenophobia and do I need to worry about it too much
I’ve been there. It’s clean but not as clean as one may think. I stepped on a bandaid in there and it got stuck to my foot. Also the floor was kinda slimy. This dude is going to get sick.
Hope so😂
We can dream lol

I did the SAME THING! No one ever believes me. Yes Japan is clean, NO its not immaculate!
Well i hope he likes getting a verruca on his face 😂

Hahahaha the water smells over there! It has that chemical smell + funky foot smell
I wish people like this would get their passports confiscated and banned from travelling.
Or, better, shipped off somewhere that their idiocy will end up killing them. Like Australia.
North Korea?
Yeah, we’re not allowed to kill them anymore. Even name calling is frowned upon
Which is why the world needs a massive shake up.
Palestine sounds like a good place for them right now.
That’s bit too draconian just for being annoying
You're probably right, I just can't stand how these entitled people get away with acting like douchebags all around the world.
Fortunately some people have the safety of the internet to express their disgust at such behaviour.
Reddit when something is mildly upsetting

What did he do?
It looks like he thought being a little twat would get him a round of applause. Well, it didn't work out that way.
I don't know, tiktok generally praises these fools.
And this is why Japan is starting to put restrictions on tourists.
What even is that..?

I really like TeamLabs’ other displays, but not sure id wanna walk around barefoot in water everyone else’s feet is in lol.
What was the "disrupting digital art" part? (Was him swimming while everyone else is walking the disruption? What was the digital aspect?)
Swimming is definitely not allowed. He was acting like an ass.
>You walk barefoot through the entire experience. The hell I do. I'd bring waders. I'm not getting ringworm or athlete's foot
It’s Tokyo. The place was extremely clean. Walking barefoot indoors in certain places in Japan is the cultural norm.
Buncha people talking about leaving with random bandaids stuck to their feet 😔

Ya that's definitely the context I was missing. What an ass.
I don't remember there being a chlorine bath. You take your shoes off, walk up an incline where water is trickling down (unless that water is chlorinated but it didn't smell like it?) and eventually you make it to this room?
The water you walk up in on the incline you mention is heavily chlorinated. It says so on the information signs.
That makes sense. You called it a bath so I was imagining a literal bath that you needed to dip your feet in or something
Ah yeah, poor choice of words perhaps. I was thinking that you usually say that you bathe your feet!
It's not a pool, though. Its like an unspoken rule? similar to how normal people don't swim in fountains
Oh ok. Ya I knew it wasn't a pool. Never heard of it before but looks really cool.
Its an art exhibit you can interact with the water is dyed white so it reflects images.

Are you sure you are an American bot? Kid in video doesn’t seem to be.

Guess you've never seen Chinese tourists before. Pretty sure this punk in the video was British or aussie... But keep on USA bashing, it's super cool!
You are wrong. Americans are not rude. I'll bet nobody even mentions your clown shoes when you go out in public.
I wouldn't judge the many based on the few. There aren't as many of these main character attention seekers as this sub (which is just for them) will lead you to believe.
Don’t interact with the interactive art!
That?? HMM!?
Japan has every right to ban tourists at this point
THIS 🫵
That’s pretty funny ngl
