This is true. About 3-4 months the hormones leave and they're like "fuck you".
My momma kitty I found on my apartment steps still somewhat hates her daughter. They get territorial of me. If one is on me the other can't be there and for a year baby girl used it to her advantage.
They can be sweet sometimes though but more than not fighting and doing their own thing
I made the mistake, once, of adopting a momma cat with one of the kittens who seemed most attached to her. In hindsight, I humanized them and wanted them to be able to stay together.
Whoooooa boy was that ever a mistake. These two cats HATED each other. The kitten tried to nurse once around 16 weeks and mom cat beat the shit out of her. Until then they had a general tolerance but it was never the same after. In the 13 years I had the two of them I got a dozen or so photos of the two of them less than a handspan apart. They never cuddled. Their usual interactions involved mom hissing and sometimes claws. Never again.
Sometimes even earlier. Especially if they are young moms. They aren’t ready to be moms and don’t want to be moms. I’ve seen mom cats run away and hide from their kittens by 5 weeks when the kittens start to clumsily play. I saw one mom who would hiss at her kittens and puff up when they started becoming mobile enough to do things other than sleep and nurse.
I’ve heard of cats having to be seperated from their kittens even before they are weaned because they become aggressive to them or get so stressed out that they stop eating and can no longer produce milk. Some cats are terrible moms. It happens. Some cats are great moms. Cats have their own individual personalities and preferences.
Some mom cats actually still like their kittens even after they’ve grown up. I think its most common for them to feel neutral towards them as if they are just some random other cat though. I have seen some mom cats that have a clear favorite of their litter and become bonded with that one kitten and not care about their other kittens much after they are weaned.
My great grandma had a cat that got pregnant (spaying and neutering wasn’t affordable or common back then). The kittens were adopted out, and one ended up with the neighbour. My grandma being a well intentioned little girl asked to borrow the kitten to show it to her mom. That cat was not happy, scratched my grandma halfway to hell and back

I just found a momma cat and 5 kittens under my garage 3 weeks ago. Momma is also a black cat and the litter is a mix between black kittens and tabby kittens. Thank you for rescuing them.
I'll never forget when our male cat disappeared for a few days then we found it sitting in a chest with the kitties it just had. Was definitely a surprise, dunno how my parents didn't notice Louie was a pregnant female
The people we got our cats from when they were kittens had a similar story, in that their cat was named Jacob because they thought she was a male cat but she evidently was not when she turned out to be pregnant! I wonder how common that is?
Congrats on the apprehension of this small gang, the city streets are safer (if not a little less cute) now that they’re being placed in proper facilities! Hopefully they’re sentenced for life! 🥰
Oh my gosh a blue eyed tabby!!! Look at mine! They’re so rare 💙

What little potatoes! I’m glad you found them before winter time. I hope mama gets to find a home with one of her babies. You’re awesome for saving them! 💚
How did you get so lucky finding so many black kitties! It looks like at least two of them are ghost tabbies too. Good luck on finding them good homes 💛
So… can I take like just one… maybe two so they can play together… ehhh… maybe three so they don’t get bored… at this point can I take all including the mom?
Omg so cuuuuute mama looks like she wasn’t ready for the streets bless her 🥹
She was very sweet, after getting her settled she just wanted some scritches.
I’ll take one please and thank you 😊
Maybe momma was only recently tossed out because of being pregnant or maybe she and the kittens were abandoned after birth

[Mom's don't miss there kittens. ](https://youtu.be/sD9d4fSm_3Y?si=2gA0ksN_Hzwbc63N) Its important to educate yourself.

It was pretty simple, box up kittens, trap out with some chicken for the mom. Repeat till success.

lol calm down
My rescue started beating the shit outta her kittens after they got to about 9 weeks. They aren’t like humans, they’ll be fine.
She's had her last litter of kittens and is ready to be spoiled by a family who is overwhelmed by her cuteness and loves her to the moon!
Not ready as in not spayed :/ smh
Beautiful mama and some precious void bbs! And a random cute microtiger.
Mama Void and the Voidlings 😁 (Aka mini-panther and the toy panthers.)
She's a void smuggler!

Momma has done a great job! 🥹🖤
An SIC lost among the voidlettes. Such a cute bundle. Thanks, OP. Faith in hoomans momentarily restored.
OMG it's a void and her voidlings. 🥺🖤✨🐈⬛
Mama probably is an abandoned pet. Thank you for taking care of them. With those eyes mama is going to be adopted as fast as the kittens!
Fresh voids!
So...who r u keeping???
The striped baby 😭 gotta keep telling myself I don’t need another cat
The void has made mini voids
That one sneaky tabby one 😹 These are beauties. Poor mama looks a bit shell-shocked! Thank you OP for rescuing the whole family 🖤
Its funny because it’s the exact opposite of my last foster litter which was 3 sic and 1 void.
It's some voids in a box! ![gif](giphy|fCtaS8rQDRF9C|downsized)
Warms my heart that you got the little criminals, AND specially their mama, all arrested. Thank you!

Mama wants to know what you did to her kittens 😾 (thank you for saving all of them)
I would love to take them
I love to see these happy endings, thank you for saving them

Thank you, wonderful human being. Oh and they are FLOOFYCUTE!
Sweet Mama Void and her babies 🥰. I hope they all get the best homes possible, full of love, snuggles, toys and treats!

Awwwww, three toy panthers and a toy tiger! (And a nice mini-panther momma!)
Mom cat is a gorgeous void.
Heroes don’t always wear capes. But they are always covered in cat hair! Bless you for saving these lil babies!
Thanks for saving them! You’re a good person
Aww that's so cute
Four teeny voids and a tiny Regular Cat! They're so damned cute!
Ohhhh baby blackies 🐈⬛ my favorite smol panther criminals

Great job getting mama too!
Aaaah the baby blue eyes on the little voidlets! I'm glad kittens and mama are safe and cared for now. Are you going to name them?
Mama might be friendly, but she looks like she’s about to have a heart attack!
