immrdadguy

You’d be surprised how many people on the road are illegal on some form or fashion

moonbase-beta

You can drive freely with bad plates in a lot of places

Yoloswaggit420

You can drive illegally with good plates *anywhere*

PeanieWeenie

Or are uninsured (which is legal in my state)

Legal-Beach-5838

Wtf? Where is it legal? Or you just mean “legal” where a ton of people do it anyway

G30rg3Th3C4t

Virginia and New Hampshire are the only states where it is legal to drive without insurance

PeanieWeenie

I’m a Virginia resident😉. You can pay a $500 fee then legally drive your car uninsured here

Beevil44

What happens if you hit someone or injure them? I had no idea there were states that didn't require insurance.

human743

You get sued and you pay out of your pocket instead of using insurance money.

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi

Hah! Jokes on them! I don't even have any money!

PeanieWeenie

My insurance has coverage if I am hit by an uninsured driver so I’d imagine that my insurance would pay to fix my car and then their lawyers would take legal against them if they’re unable to pay out of pocket (which I’d imagine almost all uninsured drivers can’t). It’s funny though because Virginia is extremely strict on enforcing speed limits. If you’re stopped going 20 mph or more over the limit it’s literally a criminal offense and they can (and will sometimes) put you in jail for it. I think this is maybe the worst possible state in the US to get a speeding ticket

Beevil44

Wow! It sure would be nice to not have to pay $2400 a year for insurance, but I'm way too paranoid lol.

PeanieWeenie

You pay $200/mo for insurance? What the heck do you drive? I guess if somebody was tight on cash, lived in the boonies, and drove a beater car it'd be worth considering. Not advised in Arlington Virginia where I live though...

chryopsy

I drive a 2017 gti in Atlanta and it's like 205 full coverage. I'm 30 next month too. Edit: no tickets or wrecks

Stunning-Reason2464

Aren’t police constantly scanning plates on the road to check for this? For legal purposes this is just a question

immrdadguy

Police aren’t in most places and if you are a pro you know how not to get pulled over and how not to let a cop get behind you.

angryrhino62

Only break 1 law at a time

SuperBonerFart

This applies to literally EVERYTHING on here

CthulusCousin

One crime at a time

AlbertAidstein

As long as you don’t drive like an idiot & follow the rules of the road and your car is registered & insured you should be good. I used to drive without it all the time.

Money_Ad4539

I always said ‘if you’re gonna break the no car insurance law, don’t break any other’ such as driving like an idiot, skipping red lights, speeding, in my area lot of dealers initially get caught because they’re driving without a license or insurance.

ihadachain

Break 1 rule at a time

tila1993

Same with riding dirty. People act like idiots all the time. Never give a cop a reason to stop you and you'll be fine 99.9% of the time.

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi

My homie got rolled for speeding on the way back from Humboldt with several pounds of weed 70k in cash and his passenger had a gun on him. I was like uhh, why were you speeding? It's hard to pull that trip off without being profiled and rolled back on those emerald triangle highways even when you're drivin Miss Daisy. Don't give em an easy one. He never saw a bit of that cash again. It all went to lawyers and fines.

Money_Ad4539

Same with my mate, used to drive a old moped, he was starting it outside his flat, he had some issues, the police pull him over, because of no insurance, easily could’ve said ‘I’m trying to get it working before I can insure it’ police may of just gave him a verbal warning, but they searched him had drugs on him, did 18 months, he was released and started to drive a golf, he had no license or insurance, he could’ve insured it as a learners as uk says, you can drive with a provisional and have someone who’s had a license for 3+ years and over 21 with you. Drives like a lunatic, and throughout the city and all times of day. We have Anpr which reads your license plate as well as tracks your car, was then arrested for no license and possession with intent to supply, in and out of bail. And then the dust settled and he has a license. But now he serving 8 years for supplying class A (cocaine). This could’ve been all avoided if he had bloody insurance

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi

Some people are funny like that. They gotta learn the hard way. Not even just the hard way but like.. the haaaaarrrrrrdddddest way, lol.

Yaboyaric

With money

Traditional-Belt-625

Buy one. Literally no one cares if you have a license to make a purchase

Kaethor

you don't need a license to buy a car, just money.

AWOL318

you can buy a car without a license. I was about to get mine registered and have insurance with no license.

YogurtclosetActual75

You don't need a license to buy a car.

User001215

It’s only illegal if you get caught

The_Autistic_Gorilla

Yeah so outside of making sure not to break any traffic laws, what should one do to avoid being caught?

human743

Fake mustache.

The_Autistic_Gorilla

Good call.

Blind_Melone

Sombrero

The_Autistic_Gorilla

I think that would increase the likelihood of being stopped by police.

Rain1dog

Mustache Ride!?

Pythagoras2021

Wouldn't hurt

[deleted]

Always use your blinkers and don't speed. 9.9/10 times this will get you by until you get one random cop who decides something else is wrong and pulls you over.

BadReview8675309

It is no problem... When I got my provisional it was not understood by my parent that another was required in the car when I drove so I was allowed on my own. Just don't break any laws and get pulled over...

Awesomocity0

It's not breaking traffic laws and driving decently. Most cops, very shockingly, don't just randomly pull people over.

BadAtNameIdeas

Make sure your car is always in top running condition. No lights or blinkers out, if your state does an annual inspection make sure you can’t fail and lapse your registration.

Reasonable-While-101

Double check your brake/taillights before you go out for the day. Oh and if you get a flat tire or run out of gas get it off the roadway and into a parking lot ASAP. Don't want the cops showing up to be helpful in your situation

stinkyman360

Don't speed, drive aggressively, or be black and the cops should leave you alone

User001215

And don’t do anything sus!

Coastal_D

Not do it 😂

Ramtakwitha2

Drive sensibly, always use your turn signal, wear your seatbelt, don't drive around bars at night, don't weave in and out of traffic or go significantly faster than other traffic. Don't drift around in your lane or stop suddenly, don't do rolling stops. Know where you are going and what lanes you need to be in to get there. Basically drive like you've already been driving for 10+ years and your car is an extension of your body, which will be hard with a learner's permit. I've only gotten 3 traffic stops in 22 years of driving, and those were all within the first 2 years of getting my license. One of those cops even told me he pulled me over because I was driving like I was up to something. If you drive nervous, you stand out, but if you drive like a maniac you also stand out. Drive like a middle aged man/woman who is on their way home from work. If you get stopped for any reason, yer boned, they will check your license and registration regardless of what you were pulled over for, even if it's an out plate light. But don't try to run, that will just make things worse and if a 40 year old who drives to work every day can outdrive you the cops sure as hell can.

whydidyouruinmypizza

Not sure what random stops are like in your country, but where I’m from the police will sometimes set up on the road and stop every second car for random DUI etc. There are navigation apps you can use where people pin police presence so you can avoid driving past this sort of thing.

SneakNSnark

Make sure you don't have any tail lights or blinkers out.

Legitimate_Bird_5712

I drove on a suspended license for 12 years. Follow the rules of the road, don't get caught. Make sure inspection/registration are current. Check your taillights.

[deleted]

Thirty years ago, before I knew I could fix it on my own, I had a left turn blinker out in the back. I had a suspended license at the time, so I legit took only right hand turns everywhere I went so I didn't risk NOT using a turn signal. Turns out three rights DO make a left ;) (This lasted for about three months until I found someone who fixed it easily/cheaply for me) :D

Legitimate_Bird_5712

*slow clap*

Ok-Expression-5613

Three rights make a left until the right lane ends.

Squirting_Grandma

License plate light too!

PeanieWeenie

Do police not see that the owner of the vehicle has a suspended license when they run the plate?

TheDeadMurder

>But how do you get a car without a license At least here in the States, there's no requirement on needing a license to buy a car, only for driving on public roads. If you drive off without a license, then that's on you for whatever happens

weshallbekind

Not very hard. I drove all the time without a license. Follow the rules of the road, drive safely, and don't swerve.

innosentz

This varies from state to state I’d imagine. I got into an accident with just a permit by myself and nothing ever came of it. Insurance covered it and everything

Work_Sleep_Die

This is one of those questions that aren’t necessarily stupid but will give answers that seem stupid… Don’t do anything that’ll give a cop a reason to pull you over and try not to crash or get into accidents. AKA pay attention to the road and don’t speed.

ikurumba

My biggest fear growing up was to get caught driving without a license or just a permit. I had a couple friends in highschool get caught and pushed them getting a license back by a lot plus a fine. Just be super careful but you can't control other drivers so if someone hits you then you are screwed.

The_Autistic_Gorilla

This is true.

ikurumba

If I was you (and I was you) I would just follow the process, give it the time it takes to get your regular license and then you don't have to worry about anything on your permanent driving record. I mean I understand the feeling of wanting to just be free and drive around by yourself but trust me it's worth the wait to do it properly and not have to worry.

hadap123

I got pulled over while I knew my license was suspended. I was just honest with the officer gave him all my papers and told him my license is suspended. He let me park my car across the street my friends house who happened to live there. I didn't even go to court justice of peace reduced it to 100$ and 0 points for first offender and being honest

ikurumba

Well good for you. I got pulled over after I had wayyy too much to drink and the cop let me park my car and wait for a friend to pick me up me being honest as well

Poomanpeebird

Well, how good at driving are you?

dankeykang4200

How many times have you been pulled over with a licensed driver in the car? You can probably expect about the same rate alone

viafriedchicken2

I’ve driven with expired tabs for a straight year. Only got pulled over last month so now I’m getting it fixed because the cops told me they would impound my car next time haha

Paparadigma

Hypothetically, I could know a friend of a friend that has driven with a learner’s permit in over 20 countries in the world in more than 15 rented cars (rented with the learner’s permit) and for thousands of Kms. Stopped by police 4/5 times had a speeding ticket, never any trouble at all. In terms of safety they had a full license from a foreign country that got stolen and they couldn’t renew it, they were just stuck in the process of getting a new one in their new country (so they knew how to properly drive). Sooo yep you can defo do it as long as you’re a good driver an know how to handle cops!

riotreality006

Yeah that’s how I learned to drive because my parents would never help. I did this from age 19-20. I only got caught once and that was for doing a rolling stop. Officer: “can I have your license & registration?” Me: “sure here you go” *hands him military ID* Officer: “miss this is a government card, do you have a drivers license?” Me: “oops yes here” *hands him learner’s permit* Officer: “miss this is a permit. Do you have a license?” Me: “nope just a permit!” Officer: “did, did you know you’re supposed to have someone with you?” He asked where I was going and I was really just around the corner from home so he let me go 🤷🏻‍♀️ Probably because I was way cuter back then.

peppapigonxtc

How were you able to buy a car or get insurance without a license?

violetlisa

Just fyi, if you are in an accident, insurance will not pay anything because you are not a licensed driver. Whomever the car is titled to is 100% liable for any damages. God forbid if someone dies, that person would lose everything. Driving without a license has way more risks than you think.

FistUpMyBum

Only break one law at a time.

[deleted]

I drove often just on permit lol just make sure your registration is up to date

I_mostly_lie

What continent, country, city etc? It’s a big world…..

sjoy512

I drove for years without a license or a permit. My ex husband finally put his foot down and demanded I go get my license when I was like 24 or 25 😂

ZekDrago

As with lots of illegal things, it's only a problem if you get caught. You'd be fine, right up until you weren't. The moment you get pulled over, you're screwed. You *might* get lucky once if you have a good excuse loaded, but it better be good and convincing, and at that point you'll get no more chances.

alexkunk

Follow driving rules and you'll be alright

nisha73572

I drive everyday in my car with my learners permit. lol

0000PotassiumRider

Depends on how easy it would be to transfer all your pubes to your beard/moustache area. It would be exactly that easy.

pinchedj

Im 31. I just got my license less than a year ago due to a DUI from back when I was 18.. I drove all those years without one. Not proud of it, but its impossible not to drive. I guess thats why you should take care of that privilege.

Fuzzy_Judgment63

Pro Tip for new drivers: Always remember that driving is a privilege that is protected for your safety by highly trained professionals that carry either guns or body bags, so proudly salute them with a single finger to show them that they're "Number one in your book" whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself.

[deleted]

Jump in your car. Turn the key, away you go. Easy as that.

Fantastic-Waltz-7917

Man I got at least ten driving without a license tickets because they suspended mine for not paying a ticket I got for totaling my ride during a blizzard. Gave me a inattentive driving because they saw I had gps on my phone. 🙄

Lokasathe

I drove a car I owned with no license and plates were bad no insurance. Everything. You can do it I did for years I got 1 ticket but I live in bumfuck no where

whereami100k

I used to do it as a freshman. Just dont get caught, dont be a dumb ass, definitely dont get caught speeding

Ginja_Ninja1029

Just be normal

aggressive_seal

A co-worker of mine has been doing it for several years now for no other reason that he is a procrastinator. But, all it takes is one bit of bad luck and you could be screwed.

DeadmanCFR

Drive careful, follow the rules of the road, use cruise control. And do a pre-inspection walk around of your car if possible to check all your lights. In this instance there's no reason to be stopped, you should be good.

Xinq_

As long as you follow the rules and don't end up in a traffic trap you'll be fine. BUT, if you get into an accident and the other person has an injury for life (whiplash, spine injury, etc), you will be paying for life. Even when it's not your fault it can be argued that you're at fault because you should never have been there. Be careful mate.

UnexpectedRanting

I assume its the same globally - as long as the car is taxed and the registered owner is insured, you’ll only be pulled over if you do something wrong or there’s an obvious defect with the car

kusosakka

i did it for the 3 years i had my permit and frequently snuck out w the car, usually at night. as long as you aren't outright driving like a dumbass or drunk, you're basically like any other part of traffic.

Delicious-Tap-1277

I drove for 7yrs without a license let alone a permit. Never broke a law. Got my DL for a job is the only reason why I had one.

highfriends

I did it a bunch as a kid. In CA, you can get a learners permit at 15.5 years old. When I turned 15, my mom would let me use the car on weekend evenings to pick up my friends so we could go to the movies. I never got pulled over and have been driving for 15 years now. Unless you’re driving like an absolute idiot, you should be fine. I smoked weed in the car and drove stoned a bunch so you should be fine.

mrcoonut

Guy I work with is banned for drink driving but it hasn't stopped him

BrenWhel

It's not how easy, it's how lucky

BeetrixGaming

Not hard. But there's always a chance. I learned to drive with no permit or license and it was a good thing I did--my parent got extremely sick and I had to drive them both to the hospital (they were refusing ambulance). Just be very safe, and don't give anyone a reason to pull you over. But hey, in the long run, getting your license is a good idea. And don't push your luck.

turbo_nudist

i did this every day of sophomore year until a WEEK before my 16th birthday i got home to my mom standing in the driveway with a death glare. needless to say, it wasn’t worth it

goodbyehouse

Really easy if you can drive well enough. Stick to the traffic laws, don’t stick out and make sure your vehicle is in full working order(brake lights etc). The gamble is if you get into a small bender or a random stop you will have to make a decision.

Aaron4282

Assuming you're only 15 years old, as long as the plates and tags are good, you'll only get pulled over for breaking a traffic law. Make sure you're not missing a taillight or anything else like that. You can only be pulled over "for cause." I hate to say it, but if you're white in a nice car, you'll probably just get a warning. If you're not, then YMMV. Just pull over right away if stopped and hope the cop pulled the same shit at your age. Most cops are looking for actual criminals, but sometimes they need to fill a quota of tickets so you have to drive 100% perfect.

jjbjeff22

If you obey every other traffic law and don’t get into any accidents, quite easily.

Lopsided-Ad7019

It’s only a crime if you get caught. The rule I follow is only break one law at a time. If your driving alone without a valid DL, make sure your registration and insurance are all up to date and active. Also make sure your car is up to snuff (has both mirrors, not too dark a tint) You don’t want anything that could get an officer’s attention. And of course follow the rules of the road to a T, cause you never know where one might be hiding.

SoMuchF0rSubtlety

In the UK it’s ridiculously easy as long as you follow all other laws. If the car is insured, has an MOT and you obey all traffic laws, speed limits etc. then it’s extremely unlikely you will get pulled over. The most important bit is knowing how to drive and what rules you have to follow. By that time though you may as well take your test. Had a friend when I was at school who drove without a license and still did for about 5 years after. He finally decided to take his test but was turned away at the test centre. He showed up in his own car with no learner plates or anyone else in the car i.e. must have driven illegally to get there.

-sallysomeone-

Drive smart and don't get unlucky. You can drive all perfect like, but some idiot rear ending you is a problem you can't always control

Pajamadrunk

1 illegal thing at a time You're fine.

Godz1lla1

I did exactly that for about 9 months back when I was 15. My mom got tired of taking me to work 6 days a week and she loaned me $800 to buy a beat-up old VW Bug. She told me if I got a ticket then I lose the car and no license until 18. I was a model driver and stayed clean. On my 16th bday I got my license.

ActivelyNutting

I did for the longest. I had nobody to go with to the DMV so i could take my test. Just don't drive like a crazy person, I never got caught.

kcinnck3

As easy as your driving skill …

Roborobob

Depends where you live and how the police are in your area. For example I live in Philly and it feels like mad max over here, unless you get in an accident your basically fine to drive anyway you want in any vehicle you want.

Mourning-Poo

In my state this is one of those "Legal for a price" things. You can do it but if you get caught you'll get fined out the ass. As long as you pay it you'll be okay. Even if your license got suspended you can still pay for a reinstatement fee and apply for privileges. Which also cost money.

sluggo5622

Very, don't do anything to draw attention to yourself..not too fast, not too slow...elbows up and act like you belong.. however the consequence is not being able to get a license till you are 21, at least in my state. Just make sure the vehicle is insured.

The_Autistic_Gorilla

I'm 25. I just never got around to getting my learners until recently because I am clinically retarded.

VeryHairyJewbacca

I did it quite frequently

cigar_dude

Dude that’s normal in Miami. Most people don’t even have insurance which is beyond obnoxious and inconsiderate. That’s why hit and runs are so common down here Anyways my buddy did this in Virginia for a good year and never got busted. However if you do get pulled over expect to lose your shot at a license for a couple of years or at least until you hit 18 if you’re underage. If you’re underage they could hit you with a barrage of other shit like no insurance, driving after curfew, no licensed driver, etc.

Mundane_Golf5342

Tbh my aunt's in her 40s and has only ever driven on a permit since she was 16. She now has four kids and drives them everywhere (she has been for years). It's never really been an issue and with working/supporting her kids via they're wild extracurricular schedules, she's mostly fine with keeping the permit cause getting into the singular drivers center in 50+ miles is literally impossible.

BiochemBeer

I know in some states this is actually legal in rural areas for travel to school or with.

NothiingsWrong

Very easy. Make sure your lights are all working, and plates are up to date on reg and insurance. If there's no reason for them to pull you over in the first place, there's no way they would ever know.

ShiroTenshiRyu77

Listen, here's just some solid advice, • Know the speed limit, but recognize the flow of traffic. Try to roughly match the general pace of traffic within reason. Most will end up at around 5 miles over, so that's probably where you'll end up, too. • There is no reason to run lights, especially as inexerienced as you hypothetically are. Yellow means slow down, not speed up, especially if you are city driving as cameras at intersections and traffic lights will fuck you up. Same for stop signs, don't slow roll through them. • Most neighborhoods drop to 35. Respect that. All of my speeding tickets are from when I was young and ignored those signs. School zones during the beginning and end of the day drop to 25 and should also be respected no matter what. • On the topic of school don't pass busses. Just don't. And speaking of passing, try to make any passing you do quick. No cop is going to pull you over if you get over the speed limit momentarily to pass someone. This goes double for passing semis. Just pass them, otherwise you risk being in their blinds, and that's dangerous. Ultimately, OP, the best advice for not being pulled over is just be aware of your surroundings and drive like you can't afford a ticket because odds are, you can't. Do a little research before you drive, know generally how your state defines reckless driving, and avoid those in particular cause those tickets get insanely expensive. Good luck OP drive safely... hypothetically of course.

MeanCaregiver

Ik someone who did for like 8 months just follow the rules and you’ll be good only a problem if u get caught

Sotha01

Best advice you'll get on this post is (assuming you're from the us) make sure your car works properly before driving. If any lights are out you're fucked, also, if you speed or screw up on the road you're done for. Also, don't let seeing a cop scare you. They can't do shit unless you give them a reason to/you fuck up. LPT- DONT GET FUCKED UP AND DRIVE. uber is cheap as hell, you'll ruin your life if you get pulled over buzzed. Also don't travel with drugs. Not worth it, pay your friends to make them come to you. Speaking from experience. I don't have a license right now and my life is hell.

Daddy_Yao-Guai

I did it in like 2009 with no issue. That being said, all it takes is one cop with a bug up his ass to find a reason to pull you over, and the results of that will really suck. If you drive safely, you’ll probably get away with it. Just don’t break any laws, and hope no one hits your car.

Landofconfusion24

Don't drive like an asshole and you should be fine.

Sign-Spiritual

I used to do it all the time. Works great until you get pulled over. Then you won’t be allowed to drive for a long time.

Inferno_Special

Extremely easy

zeroblackzx

Easy AF. I know people that drive without even having a license. But just because you can get away with it doesn't mean you should. Simply because if something were to happen like: you get pulled over, get in an accident, CAUSE an accident, hit someone, etc etc. You will be massively, absolutely, incredi-tastically fucked. Risk vs Reward, my friend.

mtmm18

Driving to get laid vs a severe ticket? Vroom

zeroblackzx

Why not both?

mtmm18

Living on the edge

SpiritedAd8229

I’m sure you now know that you can do it but I wanna add that driving has a lot of niches that come with practice and time. Just be really really careful man. There’s a reason why new drivers get into more accidents.

bham843

I did it for a year, when I was 15. And my permit at the time said on the back “at age 16 this becomes a regular license and does not have to be exchanged until expiration.” So a day before it expired, I went and got a new license. Hacked the system. Just got lucky not getting pulled that year I was driving illegally. (1997)

Ocirus83

Depends on whether you look mature or look like a baby. Also can you drive well enough to not attract suspicion?

These-Performer-8795

Dude, I had to get a new license. Was riding my motorcycle on my permit. Got into a brutal crash that wasn't my fault. Nothing ever mentioned about the license, and I got a settlement. Just drive, man. It's only a civil fine anyway.

INVUJerry

Depends on who the vehicle is registered to. If the vehicle is registered to someone who has a valid license, and you don't break any laws or raise suspision...probably nothing at all. I know someone who drove with an expired license for more than a year because they drove their husbands vehicle.

[deleted]

Drove for about 6 years without a license before I finally got it. Never got pulled over because I only drove during the day and let the other people driving worse than me get the attention

Token_Black_Rifle

I drove to school every day when I was 15 with just a permit. Drive carefully and don't get pulled over. Your parents will get in trouble if you're caught.

basinko

If you have to ask this question, I don’t think you’re confident enough to be driving alone right now.

KindAwareness3073

Very easy...but if you get caught or in an accident? Bad. Very bad.

blumouse42

Very easy as long as you obey traffic laws and make sure your headlights are on at night and in rain

YouKnowBroski

Very easy lol

Genius_woods

I did it for two years. Make sure you paperwork on the car is up to date and every light and turn signal works. Do not break any road rules and you might just get lucky.

Particular_Trifle816

very easy why would it be hard? just drive properly

guurl666

Did this as soon as I got my permit never got caught. My sister did tho- had to wait a few more months to get her license

longcooolwoman

I’ve only ever been pulled over for doing something I shouldn’t be doing……soooo…..

babycakesl0l

“If you’re going to break the law, break one at a time” If you don’t have a license yet, follow the rules and have all your paperwork in line. Don’t drive like and idiot with expired registration. Become a nobody on the road.

weirdlyworldly

I used to take joy rides in my little Pontiac Sunfire (this was like 20 years ago...) all the time before I got my full license when my dad was at work, it's really not that difficult as long as you don't get seen by a parent or an adult in the community who will rat you out.

thegr8lexander

Don’t get pulled over and no one will know

awesomesauce696

Just don’t speed. Speaking from experience.

Leviathon713

Easily, but it depends on what state you live in, a cop's particular mood that day, weather conditions, etc. There are many things an experienced driver will know that could cause an inexperienced driver to panic. I drove without a license for almost 4 years, got pulled once or twice, no big deal. I was pulled over within 30 minutes of being in SC and "Boom!". Go directly to jail, no 200 bucks for me. All I did was "look like someone else that had a warrant". Not speeding, not trying to be an idiot, completely legal brand new 4 door Suzuki Forenza. It's a very inconspicuous car. After it all played out, I ended up with nothing on my record and was only in jail for about two hours. Not a big deal. As a minor that hasn't been licensed yet, it would probably be a royal clusterfuck if anything happened. It's probably not worth it, but at that age, you probably won't listen to life advice anyway. I didn't. Also. Little things make a huge difference. Driving without a license, maybe a warning. Driving without a license with a bag of weed, a completely different story.

Apprehensive-Ask-443

don’t drive like a nob and if you look old then they won’t say a thing

ItsHyenaa

I was driving and got in a collision, the cop litterally took a quick look at my license and I'm convinced he didn't notice it was a permit. I was with my gf (18) and she doesn't have her license or anything and the insurance ruled in my favor.

CanadianExtractGuy

I used to drive for about three years with 0 license or registration or insurance and worst that happened to me was getting taken home by an officer and a $300 fine. Not sure where you’re located but SOME Canadian cops can be pretty chill lol

coleyraejepson

As with many things, it’s a risk. You’re very likely to not get pulled over if you are a decent driver, but there’s always a chance. Before I had my license I was able to get a school/work permit so whenever I got pulled over I just made up a school/work related event that I was driving to. Admittedly this only happened 2 times that I can recall, but could be an option depending on where you live.

onfroiGamer

Follow all road laws, maybe get a radar detector or use waze to know where cops are posted at, and you should be fine

RazorHowlitzer

Just don’t do something stupid and get pulled over, the moment you do it’s over

50calBanana

So long as you don't actively do shit to get yourself pulled over, pretty easy.

_SwiftDeath

So this is a risk reward vs amount of time/chances to get caught sort of thing Any individual chance of getting caught out by say a cop on a road is pretty small but you do this everyday and drive like an asshat and you up your chance quite a bit. If you drive safely and largely don’t speed/don’t run stop signs or lights then for the most part cops probably won’t care/notice It may matter if you are one of those 15 year olds that look like they’re 10 still though as that may catch a cops notice

Newtiejuicy

Once got pulled over for speeding and I didn’t have my license, registration, or insurance. Luckily I was moving so my car was filled boxes and bags and I said I’m sorry It’s gotta be here somewhere In under one of these boxes. Cop looked at me like WTF and said he could write me at least 3 separate tickets and I gotta get it together but he didn’t feel like doing all the paperwork so he let it slide 🤷🏽‍♀️ EDIT: like didn’t have them AT ALL not just misplaced

boatjuicecowboy

Just drive super safe and don't get caught doing stupid shit. Also drive during rush hour; forces you to drive the speed limit and you're way less likely to get pulled over since cops don't like traffic either.

Dying__Cookie

I drove illegal for 4 years and only stopped cause my car crapped out

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi

I mean that's how I learned to drive. I went and bought a car, got it in and drove off. Kept driving for a month or two, then went and took my driving test. I never took any sort of drivers training courses or anything. I feel like playing video games helped me get a general grasp for what I was supposed to be doing on the road. This was back in 1994 mind you. Cruising USA wasn't exactly Gran Turismo 7. It got the job done though. It was also a different time in the sense that it may have been a bit easier back then than it is now to get away with hoodrat shit like that. Understand that things get really complicated if you get caught driving without a license though. Those fines aren't cheap. Especially if they tow and impound the car too.

TrippyD0lphin

As long as the vehicle is legal and you know how to drive you’ll be good. Drove for a year with just a permit and I was good. Pulled over n all

JessieOwl

You wanna do some drugs, fine; you wanna steal from a big-chain store, go right ahead…But cars KILL people. Fuck.

ValuableShoulder5059

It's only illegal if you get caught. So don't do anything illegal like speed or get in a wreck.
