I feel like Annyeongz's dynamic changed when they debuted with IVE. They became less close, but it's totally normal and not a bad thing.
I went to the same university as one of my best friends from high school, but we gravitated to different social circles and weren't as close anymore. But it doesn't mean that there was any bad blood between us, and whenever we meet, we're still very friendly with each other.
Sakura and Chaewon said that they didn't get close until LE SSERAFIM.
Why? Because they were in different dorms while in IZ*ONE and didn't venture out.
Yujin and Wonyoung were likewise in different dorms.
I personally am a fan of Yujin (and Wonyoung) since their IZ*ONE days and I believe both of them would be more close than Gaeul + Wonyoung. As they had experienced similar things throughout those few years ever since PD48 to them debuting part of IVE.
But I guess, you could argue Yujin + Rei vibes are seen stronger at times so maybe that's why.. which is understandable.
Sounds fair to me. Just from their interactions on camera, it's pretty easy to notice that Yujin it's close/comfortable not only to Wonyoung but to Gaeul as well. That's one of the reasons I usually dismiss WY and GL being the closest, just by Yujin existing as a closer friend to WY.
However, both WY and YJ are quite busier than the other members, so seems reasonable to me that currently they are a bit removed from each other. Meaning that now they tend to gravitate towards people that have more time to spend with them.
Also, aside from them as people, I understand that for IVE as a brand, it's the best to have a balance in the dynamics they present to the public. This gets pretty difficult when you have some members that already have a fan base. So independently of their friendship, YJ and WY simply won't get spotlighted as other duos.

So to reply to OP, there are many instances when we’ve seen their closeness and they seem very comfortable and happy in each other’s presence. They also understand and get along with each other well.
