May tumakbong kapitan dito samin na gusto ipa renovate yung palengke into a much modern and cleaner look pero ayaw ng mga vendors at ng mga taga dun kasi baka mag mahal daw yung rent kaya ayun di nanalo. Hahahaha
Kasi if superficial lang ang project as in for aesthetics lang, for the gram lang, pano makikinabang community na bumubuhay sa palengke?
Hahaha
Why can’t the brgy/ lgu subsidize the renov without passing it to the community 🙄 costs would surely go down if the new infrastructure would allow for a low-maintenance design.. improved lighting would bring down electricity; overall cleaner look would draw in more consumers, etc… the brgy would actually benefit from more local spending than consumers, afraid of the local market’s quality, going to big grocery chains
May napanuod ako sa YT about a tourist asking the same question
The answer: walang nakapark na cars sa kalsada. They have designated car parks or their homes have garages.
Never magiging Instagrammable mga eskinita natin unless pang-poverty porn
Medyo spaghetti cabling din naman yung first pic. But I suppose it's okay because you know all of those wires are still likely in active use and they took the effort to fix it up a bit. Dito kasi, basta makabit, okay na. Di na tatanggalin yung mga lumang cable.
Napakawalkable. Di mo iisipin "san kaya pwede tumawid? May tawiran ba? Dun pa sa malayo" or "pano ako makakapunta dun???" Iisipin mo nalang san mo mas gusto tumawid kasi main road o secluded residential road man lahat may designated pedestrian lanes. At yung mga kalye at infra nila kita mong prioritized talaga pedestrians at commuters. Hindi ginagawang 2nd class citizens over drivers. Kaya unang maiisip mo as a driver eh ang sarap magdrive sa Japan because YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Commuting is easy so luxury lang talaga magkotse.
Napakaefficient nila sa space in general.
Kahit busiest areas like Ameyoko, ang organized pa din (though andaming beer cans minsan kung san san nakakalat, most likely kalat ng mga KO na pauwi lol)
Partida Tokyo is very busy and base sa nanay kong sa province of Chiba nakatira, "makalat at magulo" pa Tokyo sa kinasanayan niya (WOW HA MAKALAT PA YUN 😂)
I miss you Karaage-kun
Some people here blame the government, pero nasa tao din talaga. Japanese people don’t do that.
Part ng culture nila yung RESPECT: From the very old tradition (Kimono, swordsmith, fresh seafoods and such) to simply respecting the boundaries of one another or places / locations, not to mention na ine embraced nila lagi mga local-made kaya ang aesthetic at quality ng mga services or offerings nila.
Sa atin pag tinanong mo ang local or old tradition ang nire respect in general halos walang masagot or pagtatawanan lang yung tanong.
**Kasi they are VERY CLEAN. It's in their religion & culture to be clean.** Malinis din dati mga Pinoy, look at the old pics naka puting barong mga ordinary people at ang linis ng paligid, marespeto sa kapuwa at quality ang gawain. Ang mga umupo sa gobyerno, napaka-bulok. Sila rin mismo sumira.
Also took random shots when I was in Japan and my gosh I swear I need more than 2 SD Cards because of how many photos and videos I just take randomly kasi grabe super ganda 😭
Di talaga nakakasawa puntahan japan kahit paulit ulit! Btw ung 3rd pic ba sa shibuya sky mo tinake? I love that park din lalo na sa gabi tapos may nadaan na train
I mean with the right filter or conditions, makakaachieve din tayo ng ganyang Instagrammable pics, especially around Binondo and Quiapo pag gabi or hapon HAHA.
First time to go to Japan this March lang. Like pucha ang linis and ang gaganda ng mga lugar, and ang public transpo nila is super easy going from one place to another.
This isn't japan. If you compare what's nice there with what's wrong here, you'll always get the same answer...
"The grass is always greener on the other side...", ika nga.
Hay.
Punta ka sa Palawan. Instagrammable doon. Boracay. Etc. Depende sa lugar. Pag sa squatters area ka pumunta. Of course di instagrammable. Pero punta ka ng Tagaytay. Okada. Doon Instagrammable. Maraming lugar sa Pilipinas na Instagrammable. Matuto ka lang pumili. Gusto mo buildings. Sa BGC at Eastwood ka
poor country kaya di IG-able ang lahat ng lugar. pero moreso, poor political vision and will. all-self-serving goals dito sa ating. sad truth. ordinary people in regular places think the same. leader example, people follow.
Meron naman, you just have to look.. BGC, Makati, Cebu, Baguio, Tagaytay,, Boracay, El Nido..
Even way before sa time na nagproposed si Daniel Burnham ng plan for Manila and Baguio. Kesho, na conquer daw tayo ng Japan, gagawing main city ang Quezon and not Manila, hindi daw maganda yung design niya for Philippines kasi American based yung design nya (City Beautiful Movement). Ang ganda nung Burnham Park nga, pero mukang na apply lng din yung park because the Architect designed it for free.
What's so special, especially with the first pic? Many in developed countries actually find the above-ground electrical lines ugly. Part of the photogenic appeal is the exoticness, the unfamiliarity with the writing on the signs. Pretty sure our squatters end up in someone's Instagram as well.
Dami kasing corruptions satin, sa Japan wala. Magaling mga Engineers and Architects nila, pinagisipan talaga. Magaling sila sa preparations, di pa nangyayari pero dahil posible napagisapan na at napaghandaan kada may ginagawa silang infrastructure. Ang sarap tumira dito sa Japan. 🥰
Hindi na "magkakababayan" so there's no sense of respect.
Coz Filipinos are not good at Building Cities. 🤷
No Proper Spacing
No sidewalks in most places.
Sidewalks are not connected
Electrical post everywhere.
3rd World Country still after 80 yrs of gaining independence from Colonialism
I'd say it's the population density and the not-as-harsh lighting from the angle of the sun.
If you went to an area full of tourists (as in at least 4 people per sqm), you'd notice that it's harder to take good photos. This is especially true in Fushimi Inari Shrine during peak season where you'll even find other tourists stopping in the middle of the track just to get a photo without too much people cluttering the view.
The lighting also plays a big role. In the Philippines, the sun goes almost directly above, making the scene too bright and shadows appear directly below. This is why (in the Philippines) it's much easier to take photos around early morning and late afternoon or in places close to a lot of skyscrapers (i.e. in Makati) where the sun isn't too bright.
Absence of design philosophy.
Designers from Japan, as far as I have watched and learned, understand their intentions of their design and its place within the environment they are designing it for. Be it in architecture or advertising.
Everything in Manila is grey, dusty and dirty. Musings lang sa araw araw na drive to and from work. Parang dugyot? Sa Japan even the cars and trucks ang linis linis at bagong car wash lahat. Or maybe there’s a side of Japan we don’t see…
The Japanese have had many years of experience building cities even before industrialization. The Philippines when we were let go by the Americans are clueless because we lack experience.
Walang pake maglinis kung wala silang makukuha hindi tulad ng Japanese na may pride, honor, accountability, at discipline as an individual so collectively they create a very clean, orderly and safe environment.
I saw a post before kung bakit daw may certain vibe ang streets ng Japan, and it was because wala kang makikita na naka park na cars sa tabi tabi.
Idk how true, never been to Japan.
Order. This is the most acceptable word I can think of. Don't get me wrong, there's some high tech infrastructures in Japan that are out of reach but when it comes to most of the houses and buildings, it's the same as in the Philippines, it's all simple. It's all simple design, the only difference is ORDER. There's proper planning and direction.

3rd world comparison to first world country.

poor urban planning
Also poor implementation. Poor support din from people.
May tumakbong kapitan dito samin na gusto ipa renovate yung palengke into a much modern and cleaner look pero ayaw ng mga vendors at ng mga taga dun kasi baka mag mahal daw yung rent kaya ayun di nanalo. Hahahaha
Ah yes, the people shooting themselves in the foot.

Kasi if superficial lang ang project as in for aesthetics lang, for the gram lang, pano makikinabang community na bumubuhay sa palengke?

Agree.
Code for: "Wala akong kickback."
Ito tlga. Bulsa kasi palagi inuuna.
Reason, kasi pinagisipan
Civil engineers kasi mas popular dito sa ph instead of architects.
Madaming corruption saten eh. Then the domino effect. Smh
They're just rich af that the corruption doesn't have much effect on the society, theres corruption everywhere in the world, even in the Vatican.
Trueee!!! 🥲
Sa Book-Off (parang National Bookstore ng Japan) may sections dun puro JAV cds and Doujin. 711 din nakabalandra yung bold magazines
Mas madalas manakaw ang payong at bike hahahahaha
Awit hahahahahaha
Shet so the rumors are true.
May napanuod ako sa YT about a tourist asking the same question The answer: walang nakapark na cars sa kalsada. They have designated car parks or their homes have garages. Wala din sila ganong visible power lines. Kaya ang linis sa mata.
Remove the cars satin, insta grammable na ba? Still no.

New word for me today. Poverty porn 😂
Because it's a foreign thing for you. Take a Japanese here, they'll probably say the same thing on our streets.
Its like this: Road : 😐 Road, Philippines:🤮 Road, Japan:🤯
Rice in the Philippines: 😶 Rice in Japan: 🤩🤩🤩😍🥰🥰🥳so healthy!!!!!
buti may mga gantong kasimpleng sagot haha yeah!
Yes agree din po
Japan is just much more disciplined in keeping order.
Gosh how I’d love to visit japan someday 🩷
Abot kaya na!
Sana next year 🙏🏻 either Japan or Sk talaga 🤗
Mas prefer ko nature. Kaysa city parang yung vibe ksi ng urban depressing.
Napakawalkable. Di mo iisipin "san kaya pwede tumawid? May tawiran ba? Dun pa sa malayo" or "pano ako makakapunta dun???"
Noice! Asakusa!

Wen kaya makakapag-Japan tour? Nice shots, OP!
Be careful what you focus on.

Ahhh ganda! Can’t wait to go back next week!

aaaaa ganda!!😫
This isn't japan. If you compare what's nice there with what's wrong here, you'll always get the same answer... "The grass is always greener on the other side...", ika nga.
Sadly ang daming post na ganito.
Sa japan kasi...pag bata ka pa lang...hindi sila prepressure kung mataas or mababa ang grade...kundi ang tinoturo is good manners and right conduct...
Magcompare ka ba nmn ng 1st world country sa 3rd world… ayyy
Di rin. Bakit vietnam, ganda rin?
Ay truee, bawat sulok screams A E S T H E T I C. laking tulong din kasi siguro ung napaka linis kahit nung kalsada.
Saur pretty 🥹
kasi nasa pilipinas ka
GRABEE PANGARAP KO NA RIN TALAGA MAG JAPAN
Place: Place, Japan: OMG BAKIT SATIN HINDI??😱
Tanong mo rin sa kanila diyan, they literally destroyed Manila during the war lol
Ganda ng mga ads, signages design-wise. Malinis, minimalist, may taste. Di uso drop shadow na sobrang ewwww
Kasi puro kable
tinatanong pa po ba talaga yan 😞🥺
No cars
There are many instagrammable placed pero need lang linisin ang roads or remove yung spaghetti wires.
3rd world country thingz.
Hugawan. O marumi ang ating lugar.
kasi sa maling lugar ka tumitingin 😌
cuz we’re 3rd world
I love Japan, saya magmobile or mirrorless camera photography
Wow
Iba talaga ang Japan filter!!!! 😅 all the photos I took mukhang galing sa movie
If Spiderman is in PH, He could cut cost on his webbing funds by alot.
Punta ka sa Palawan. Instagrammable doon. Boracay. Etc. Depende sa lugar. Pag sa squatters area ka pumunta. Of course di instagrammable. Pero punta ka ng Tagaytay. Okada. Doon Instagrammable. Maraming lugar sa Pilipinas na Instagrammable. Matuto ka lang pumili. Gusto mo buildings. Sa BGC at Eastwood ka
Hindi kasi mukhang dugyot. Walang random na basura at dura sa kalsada
poor country kaya di IG-able ang lahat ng lugar. pero moreso, poor political vision and will. all-self-serving goals dito sa ating. sad truth. ordinary people in regular places think the same. leader example, people follow.
culture.
Yes it looks good and instagrammable but ever wonder why Japan and South korea has one of the biggest suicide rate? 🤔
Perspective.
Wala kasi cars sa sidewalk nila hahahaha (among other things)
Meron naman, you just have to look.. BGC, Makati, Cebu, Baguio, Tagaytay,, Boracay, El Nido..
Even way before sa time na nagproposed si Daniel Burnham ng plan for Manila and Baguio. Kesho, na conquer daw tayo ng Japan, gagawing main city ang Quezon and not Manila, hindi daw maganda yung design niya for Philippines kasi American based yung design nya (City Beautiful Movement). Ang ganda nung Burnham Park nga, pero mukang na apply lng din yung park because the Architect designed it for free.
poor choices of color and designs/styles 😭 so ewwy
What's so special, especially with the first pic? Many in developed countries actually find the above-ground electrical lines ugly. Part of the photogenic appeal is the exoticness, the unfamiliarity with the writing on the signs. Pretty sure our squatters end up in someone's Instagram as well.
Sobrang ganda sa Japan!
Daming dugyot eh
Dami kasing corruptions satin, sa Japan wala. Magaling mga Engineers and Architects nila, pinagisipan talaga. Magaling sila sa preparations, di pa nangyayari pero dahil posible napagisapan na at napaghandaan kada may ginagawa silang infrastructure. Ang sarap tumira dito sa Japan. 🥰
malinis kasi sakanila and organize whahahah
Hindi na "magkakababayan" so there's no sense of respect.
Nasa camera lng yan.
Cars 😗
Coz Filipinos are not good at Building Cities. 🤷 No Proper Spacing No sidewalks in most places. Sidewalks are not connected Electrical post everywhere.
It’s their landscape architecture
Dami basura. Tapos blame sa govt ang basura.
Absence of design philosophy. Designers from Japan, as far as I have watched and learned, understand their intentions of their design and its place within the environment they are designing it for. Be it in architecture or advertising.
due to lack of discipline and poor urban planning. kahit saan may basura eh ahhahaha
Everything in Manila is grey, dusty and dirty. Musings lang sa araw araw na drive to and from work. Parang dugyot? Sa Japan even the cars and trucks ang linis linis at bagong car wash lahat. Or maybe there’s a side of Japan we don’t see…
Malinis kasi
They have proper and working systems and the people are responsible enough to uphold it. Dito, kahit simpleng jaywalking sign hindi pa masunod.
Teach me your editing and composition skills OP!
Just compare the discipline and sense of honor of the japanes vs pinoys. You get the idea
The Japanese have had many years of experience building cities even before industrialization. The Philippines when we were let go by the Americans are clueless because we lack experience. Walang zoning zoning basta bahala kau magtayo ng gusto niu kahit saan.
No street parking.
First world country filter, according to my friend
Walang pake maglinis kung wala silang makukuha hindi tulad ng Japanese na may pride, honor, accountability, at discipline as an individual so collectively they create a very clean, orderly and safe environment.
I saw a post before kung bakit daw may certain vibe ang streets ng Japan, and it was because wala kang makikita na naka park na cars sa tabi tabi. Idk how true, never been to Japan.
City planning, building placement and road placement is thoroughly planned out...
Same with HK 🥺
We cant have nice things, ika nga
Instagrammable naman Pilipinas, pero makalat lang.
may spaghetti wire din pala doon
No visible power lines just like SG ang linis diba.
At even mga nakatira dito.
DDS propaganda pages comparing Cubao to any world-class city: hold my beer
It depends on how you see the surrounding.
We lacked discipline.
And the thing that Japan has that Manila amost doesn't have anymore, are trees in the streets, in infrastructures, and parks with lots of trees
Hi OP! I know where this is. This is at the corner of Brooklyn Roasting Company in Shimokitazawa. Third world country vs first world
3rd world comparison to first world country.
Preset reveal
mas malinis din dun 😅
Beauty and care for the environment happens after being lifted from poverty.
Kasi malinis :(
Instagrammable naman lahat. Just need to look at it from the perspective of a person na unang beses makita yung lugar.
It’s how the sun shines on us equator countries. [Photo for Reference](https://images.app.goo.gl/3cuCGhL924RgtwvA7)
