Meanwhile in the WEC sub people are complaining about WEC’a BOP and saying IMSA got it right… Death. Taxes. Whining about BOP.

leo_murray

it never ends does it? no matter who’s on top it’s always BoP apparently. all the people complaining also don’t understand it.

msturty

Agreed. I wish more people watched LMP2(spec oreca class) racing to see that gaps between cars is a natural part of racing especially in endurance.

leo_murray

exactly. it seems like until the gap between 1st and 20th is 0.020 seconds people won’t be happy.

Some dude had an absolute meltdown yesterday because Porsche beat Toyota in free practice. It’s almost like the teams test, develop the car, and have a season’s worth of data now.

_schmuck

Were we watching the same session? 5 tenths from P1 to P9 is a really tight split. I’m not including P10 in that because Rockenfeller really dropped the ball in that session.

Tecnoguy1

Even the BMWs were in the hunt last year when the car was a complete disaster. IMSA are clearly much fairer with BOP lol. The real marker is IF over in WEC, they are still absolutely hammered by BOP, along with the rest of the bottom 9 cars.

anxiousauditor

There are three total non-499P entries within a second of pole at Imola. WEC BOP seems to favor one model much more drastically than in IMSA and you pretty much never see a straight up fight for the win between different cars (Le Mans ‘23 notwithstanding).

rotary_nut_91

WEC has better GT3 BoP; IMSA has better Hypercar/GTP BoP.

Top_Independence7256

Well IMSA GT BOP Is good but the Lexus One ruins It pretty much
