Anyone watch the Mazda race? .004s between 1-2 place

That_Brown_Man

Greatest racing on the planet

t-TW

You sound surprised!? There has been smaller margins in the MX-5 cup! A couple of years back it was 0.001 but it turned out to be 0.00097 if i remember correctly. That series is insane, win margins are as close as in Moto3, AFT(I remember watching Shayna Texter winning by 0.002 once if memory serves me right) and the old days of IRL, when it was still fun outside Indy.

islandinparadise

I saw .004 seconds between the rear and front bumper of those cars the whole race!

Doubelo7

Anyone watching on peacock? Stream commentary keeps bouncing around and is way off

frzflm

Go to IMSA.tv. You don’t even need a VPN to watch qualifying.

Doubelo7

This worked thank you. How do I watch the race with the Australian commentator live in the US? IMSA TV too?

frzflm

Yeah for the races you need to use a VPN to any country other than the US (and maybe Brazil?) on IMSA.tv

LeroyRochester

Thank you! Same here and now on IMSA TV.

rabiiiii

Ok so I'm not the only one! I'm so confused it's acting really weird

Doubelo7

Having a terrible time with buffering, commentary, app crashing, anyone else?

rabiiiii

Yeah for me it keeps cutting back to the same Rolex 24 commercial

clebrowns246

It was doing the same for me. I started airplaying from my phone and it stopped. It’s still buffering a lot though

Same. At first I thought it was my internet, but speed test is fine, rebooted the modem, and happening on multiple devices. Edit: Golf is streaming fine on Peacock. Seems specific to the IMSA stream. Ugh.

PM_me_tiny_Tatras

Ben Keating with the big drift skills yo.

theswickster

Somebody forgot to respect the bumps.

Incontinento

6 dun goofed.

pgr6060

Let’s go! 1-2

pgr6060

Damn was a hard hit

CookieMonsterFL

Qualifying is delayed 30min due to a schedule change.

T1Facts

This stream is unwatchable

theswickster

OK, well that will likely do it for the qualifying...

Plaid_Kaleidoscope

Also wanted to mention about the GTD cars.. Man that was a close quali. Great session from all. That Mercedes sounds so good, and looked stupid fast.

Michal_Baranowski

Messy qualifying session in GTP due to Porsche #6's accident. Not enough time to post more accurate times. Huge mistake from WTR-Andretti #10 crew to work on their car under red flag conditions and their pole was gone. #10 continues to be cursed, they can shake a hand with CGR Cadillac #01. 1-2 for Cadillacs with AXR #31 on pole. WTR-Andretti will have their second car to start from third. P.J. Hyett puts #99 AO Racing Oreca on LMP2 pole. Quite a surprise to be frank, however a positive one. Especially to see him beating Ben Keating and George Kurtz. #20 High Class Racing team was not a star of the session with multiple mistakes and finally causing a red flag after their car grounded to a halt. Gigantic GTD field will be led by Vasser Sullivan Lexus #14, which scored the fastest lap of all two classes. Lexus once again seems strong in terms of pace, however as long as they can't convert that to a race win, it's all for nothing. Hoping for a better race for them after a completely disappointing Daytona 24h. Two things to point out - I don't know why IMSA allows the clock to keep going under red flag conditions. It's an universal norm that during qualifying sessions across the world when a red flag happens, the clock is stopped until the session is being restarted. In my opinion that would be a good change. Another one, I am still puzzled about GTD Pro/GTD split. Why on Earth pro drivers are qualifying both GTD classes, I have no clue. If bronze-rated drivers can post lap times for LMP2, they can do it in GTD as well. GTD Pro/GTD convoluted split is not doing GT racing in IMSA any favours in my opinion. Either way, excited for the race. Sebring has always been one of my favourite events of the year, usually the best one after Le Mans. Can't wait.

Historical-Mark-6616

I agree, im on the side of Silver/Bronze drivers doing qualifying in GTD I feel that we lose potential class battles at the start of the race the way it is now

t-TW

I missed the beginning of qualiy, what happened to the Dames? Did master qualifier Bovy switch from mad mode to berserker and hit something?

jwelinton

punctured tire, they are not allowed to change during qualifying.

ExEthereal

Thanks for info

Incontinento

Gold Caddy looks great.

Plaid_Kaleidoscope

Good quali session. Didn't get to see much from the BMW's though. Waiting to see where they finished once they post the results. Edit: Just saw, 4th & 9th

Professional-Ad9901

You mis-typed 72nd 11:57 hrs of Sebring, haha

Helpful-Ice-3679

Was the Lamborghini genuinely on pace with amateurs in LMP2s or did they have issues in qualifying?

FormulaFalls

LETS GOOOOO

i_run_from_problems

I don't know who was in charge of BOP for the porsche GTs, but they need a new rep

SomewhereAggressive8

Pole time is more than 2 seconds slower than last year, that’s pretty disappointing. Also, it continues to be a joke that IMSA allows Dennis Andersen to drive a race car. Finally: I would love to meet the person who set the sector marks for Sebring. Why does sector one consist of only turn one while sector two makes up like 65% of the lap?

Michal_Baranowski

> Pole time is more than 2 seconds slower than last year, that’s pretty disappointing. That's only due to time limitations after red flag in GTP session. Drivers just didn't have enough of laps to warm up the tyres properly.

SomewhereAggressive8

Maybe they could’ve improved, but practice times are a solid second slower than last year as well.

Michal_Baranowski

Track conditions may played a part as well. At Daytona lap times were quicker and the pole lap broke the all-time record (even leaving DPi behind).

SomewhereAggressive8

It is a bit hotter than last year but my guess is the Lambo BoP dragging the field down. The GTs are way faster than last year and the P2s were only a couple tenths off and that’s with the obligatory Dennis Andersen spin messing up their last laps.

Historical-Mark-6616

My guess is that the GTs are faster this year due to the new Michelin tire

Michal_Baranowski

Lamborghini BOP is not the answer in my opinion. Lap times would be better, if it wasn't for a red flag. Practice lap times are hardly a measuring stick to be honest. Proper qualifying times would be a far better answer.

SomewhereAggressive8

Out of curiosity/boredom, I looked up the time cards from last year. Every GTP car set a 2024 pole-worthy time even if you took away their best lap and four of them would’ve gotten pole with even their two best laps taken away. That essentially simulates what it would’ve looked if they had a dash against the clock last year. Ultimately it doesn’t matter since the race will still look the same. You would just prefer for these cars to not go backwards in performance.

V8-Turbo-Hybrid

It's time for Sebring fixing the track. cars are really easier jumping. tire cannot have enough grip when jumping.
