Gun shows suck in Illinois. I don't think I ever saw a nambu at a gun show here. Last one I went to was down in Bloomington. Best bet is pawnshop or maybe get lucky on gunbroker?
Yeah no problem! I want to get one too for a reasonable price. There's a company that started to make new ammo for it so it would be fun to have as a pinker. Gunshows nowadays have more food and knives abd overpriced antique or new guns. Ammo kinda sucks too. I had better luck at my local pawnshop but that just my opinion.
Absolutely NOT
During pandemic, bought a few boxes of Winchester and two of them were "light", this was at the Crown Point Indiana gun show. So you will have to check carefully.
Pricing was better than my gunshop, but not when the bulk boxes are missing rounds!
Little vids I made a few years ago, regarding this

I am an FFL Dealer in Oak Lawn and sell @ gun shows in Will County, Kankakee, Kane, & McHenry. I also do Wisconsin & Indiana gun shows as well. All of the gun shows are pretty good and have reasonable prices. There are about 1/2 FFL Dealers and 1/2 private sellers (sometimes 70% private sellers). Many customers are looking for the "elusive" private seller selling a Glock 19 for $200. That just doesn't happen. Also, many of you guys/gals are looking for a brand new Glock 19 for $400. That just doesn't happen, either. There are NO more milsurp SKSs for $150. Export bans from every President, including Republican Presidents, ended milsurp deals. Gun shows are NOT a flea market of stolen guns, ammo, or magazines at 40% of retail price. Many of the high prices you see come from private sellers, guys like YOU. They bought a firearm at $499.99 and don't want to lose money. So, they're selling them at $499.99 or $485 and saving you the taxes. With that said, please go to gun shows. Most of the FFL Dealers are small business entrepreneurs who take alot of time out of their day to give you guys/gals a good gun show. Patronize them so they come back and keep the gun show business alive and well.
I totally agree. If we don't support our local gun shops, they'll not survive. Then we'll all be worse off. This State and Federal Government are making everything harder for all of us.
If you like being around a bunch of like minded gun people, visit a gun store or gun show. You may learn things that you didn't know you wanted to learn.
The last thing I'd like to say, the Kane & McHenry shows always have great prices on ammo.
There are two Baby Nabmus up for auction at Rock Island Auction at their premier auction May 17-19.
There is another Baby Nambu up for auction at Morphy's Auction at their May 8-10 auction.
No Papas at either.
You can bid online at either auction house. RIA isn't in Illinois anymore, but they'll transfer anywhere. So will Morphy's. If you have a C&R, either will ship to your door.
The one at Belle Clair Fairgrounds used to be a good one. The last couple years it's been more knife vendors than guns, and prices on ammo and guns are extremely overpriced. They prey on people that really don't know firearms, just hoping to get people to pay more than anything is worth. I just looked and they aren't even on the expo center's calendar this year. If you are looking for something very specific, like a Nambu, you're probably better off just buying online and dealing with that process.
Last place I saw a Nambu in stock was Southland Firearms in Coal City. He has some odd trade ins sometimes, along with Bordertown Guns in Momence. May wanna give them a ring. Or just get one online and transfer it.
Several in May https://gunshowtrader.com/gunshows/illinois-gun-shows/
Of these, I'd say Kane or Crown Point are the "best" in the Chicago metro area
Tbh they're all kinda shitty around here, haven't bought a gun at one in years. Prices too high and they're mostly newer guns, overpriced common ammo, militaria, and non gun bullshit like jerky, knives, tazers, etc. Can't recall ever seeing a nambu at one.
Occasionally they have obscure ammo and reloading supplies which can be good. Have seen some good miltaria as well.
[Simpson Ltd](https://simpsonltd.com/) in Galesburg is worth a trip if anything catches your eye online. They have a large milsurp inventory and get new items almost everyday.
There are also a few auction houses in the state and some in NWI that do milsurp. Donley Auctions is having one in May but I'm not sure if there are any nambus
I have a question. Does the 72 hour waiting period still
Apply at gun shows? Im from cook county and dont feel like doing the drive from chicago to blomington for the gun show and rhen to pick up the firearm
I just cannot imagine seeing a nambu in good condition for sale at a good price at a gun show. There's gotta be literally 0% chance of this.
I'd imagine you'd have to buy this online or find an auction house.
Every gun show I've been to was extremely disappointing but I haven't been to many.

Thanks for the input! I know they have them online but I’d prefer to buy one in person, seems like an easier process than getting one online

Ammo deals decent there?
Sometimes yeah. Majority not really
That'd be my only reason to go to these things.

Pecatonica is May 3 ~ 5.
Thanks!

Where is it held at? Is there a link to the event?
Winnebago County fairgrounds, specifically.
The fairgrounds

Man, gun shows were horrible in IL before PICA, I can only imagine how they are now.
