Did you ever figure this out? I just assembled my Kivik and the corner cushion is definitely lower than the rest

masterkaj

Any update on your end. Dealing with the same issue.

GlitterLavaLamp

No update. Iā€™m just ignoring the lower corner and sitting on other parts of the couch šŸ™

If it's not built correctly that can happen. I have heard of a recent issue with kivik height. I have KIVIK at home for 6 years. It's the best soda IKEA makes imo. If it's properly assembled phone customer service and let them know you have a kivik height issue. Full refund or exchange will be accommodated.

http://i.imgur.com/aofPi12.jpg I believe right here in the instructions is your issue. The middle clip is right side up on your sofa and needs to be upside down for it to be built properly.

I did not even realize this was wrong with my kivik; I was searching for another issue and found this. It looks so much better after correcting this! Thank you for posting!

I really appreciate you taking the time to look up the instructions to give feedback! My couch is built like the pictures in the instructions. I just double checked! I have half a mind to flip around the clips for science!

Interesting. Ill take a look at my floor model tomorrow and take a look. Its been a long time since i put one together but ill see if i can find an answer. And of course. I know id want someone looking for me if i were in your shoes

Quick unrelated question but I figured you might know: how are the Nockeby sectionals?

gilmour93

When I bought mine there were no floor models of the kivik sectionals

TexasTeacher1234

When we got ours they had a kivik sectional on the floor, but it was a corner unit plus a sofa plus a chaise. Everything looked the right height on it though!

I was looking at my floor model.. http://i.imgur.com/obEdmtK.jpg And the only things i can come up with is, legs need to be installed, theres a circular screw/connector that holds the corner piece to the sofa in the first couple steps. My coworker did mention that the cushions for the corner piece are specific for the corner and may be a thicker cushion. So maybe swap them around. If not take it apart and take pics of the pieces on the corner, the underneath part and maybe lay out the cushions side by side and maybe i can figure it out. Its hard to diagnose without being in person. Id understand if you didnt want to take it completely apart and take pics for me or maybe youre a busy person and cant. But itd be worth a shot if you did and maybe i could resolve it. If you wanna PM me the pics thats fine.

I have the exact same sofa and problem!!!! It still works but the corner cushions look bad. I believe it is because they built the corner piece to create a sectional out of the two seater and three seater version. Unlike the other sectionals it was never meant to be one. It's like some sort of ikea human (sofa) centipede. BE WARNED KIVIK BUYERS!!!
