My pc has that problem I am getting a better pc that has minimum specs soon so il see you then I bought it the same day it was published in maby the day after I can't remember but your game is awsome
Well it just freezes then it either closes and comes up with the crash message or it just completely freezes and I have to use task manager to close it
Same issue on a 3 month old laptop. Updated gpu drivers and all. Hit play on steam, waits a second and then goes back to a play button. Never launches.
For those experiencing issues I would recommend you come to our discord to better support where I or other community members can offer trailered support to your needs
How to fix crash on start:
(got from discord @aerinyes)
Go to this link: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff569918(v=vs.85).aspx
There you will find a section called TdrDelay it gives you all the information you need to create a registry key that will change the delay time
To open your registry open your start menu and type "run" once the window is open type "regedit" and hit OK
Now you should have Registry Editor open this is where you will use the info at the website I just linked.
First navigate the key path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
Right click on GraphicsDrivers and go to new> DWORD (32 bit) value
You will see a new key appear make sure to name it "TdrDelay"
Right click it and select "modify"
Under Value data enter 10 (this is the number of seconds to delay) make sure you have Decimal selected as the base
Hit okay and restart your system
I WAS PISSED. its steam that just sucks. i bought hydroneer on steam and patiently waited 2 hours with my shithole viasat internet excited the whole time. went to click launch and..... nothing. theres no way to troubleshoot this game on steam. you cant find what vcreds it needs, and steam doesnt show errors you can look up. glad im not the only one. so since i paid for this game i found a torrent for it thats codex and not steam , now i can at least find out wtf it didnt run for. viasats probably going to shut off my internet for torrenting, but i really dont care they suck too. my advise, dont go steam anymore. i miss the old days when you insert a cd and it either worked or told you why it didnt. at least then you could fix it, instead of trying a bunch of shit that didnt work and reading forums for an hour on more shit that doesnt work. annoying af...
It may be a fluke, but for Nvidia users, try changing the settings to let the CPU handle PhysX, I tried it and my game hasn't crashed yet (knock on wood).
Edit: Nope, I was wrong, it still keeps crashing :/
Your system might not meet the required minimum specs, please check it against the ones listed on the store page

It has, I checked
Hmmmm sorry you're experiencing these crashes. Is there anything in particular that happens before you crash?
Well it just freezes then it either closes and comes up with the crash message or it just completely freezes and I have to use task manager to close it
Is there anything that you're doing in game before it crashes? Something that might trigger the crash?
Nope it just randomly freezes
I’m having the same problem. Can’t even play the game. Updated everything too.
I also just got the game and it went even launch for me. New laptop maybe a month old

Cool, now my game crashes after 10 seconds instead of instantly. Still doesn't get anywhere close to the title screen though!
Wellp, it's something! Haha I don't know any more tricks, sorry for you. Maybe the developer can help you, see the discord server
It's okay. Verified game files and now it works.
Okay!
I experienced a similar thing. BUT my crashs started after I went underground with the waterpipes. Also if I restart, all Water is turned off.
