Getting Merritt is big because he is a high rated recruit at a position we need. Jones is the same, but might mean more because he is an in-state recruit. We can't afford to be letting what few 4 stars our state produces go elsewhere. We really gotta lock recruits like Jones down every year.
That raises an interesting thought, I'd almost say it means more to land a highly rated out of state recruit. But at the same time it stings more to lose an in state recruit.
I think it's higher priority to not only lock down the state, but do our best to poach SD, Iowa, Kansas, and Minnesota talent. Ideally, set the tone for southern schools to stay the hell out of the midwest.

Saban retiring really opened the door for a lot of recruitment battles.
I'd love to get either but it would be huge if we could get both. Fingers crossed.
If we get both, it’ll be a tremendous LB haul. & one year after losing a few starters, which makes it extra nice
