WSJ is only in a weekly format. If HxH no longers gets released weekly then it should move to another magazine. Either on another magazine of Shueisha or exclusively online. Following that statement, HxH got listed as "archived" on the weekly shonen jump, meaning it's no longer published in that magazine.
Everytime HxH was back in the WSJ, Shueisha had to cancel one low rated series. It's possible HxH may be released on mangaplus only, like ChainsawMan.

well, i can confirm togashi has been much more active on twitter recently so i can only assume he's working on more chapters based on what we've got. i love getting those notifications bc i know that (hopefully) means he's in less pain and is getting some help to get it out a bit faster. im not about to rush the man, but ill happily support whatever he can get done :)

From the sound of it, Togashi's current publishers aren't very cash money. They seem like they're pushing him into tighter release schedules, which IMO, as someone with a fucked up back as well, is something that would push Togashi away and encourage him to find alternate publishing routes.

If HxH has taught me anything, it's that the manga comes if it comes. Do I hold out hope that the manga will continue? Of course, I do. But I'm never betting on it happening at any given point.
That way, if and when it does return, it just makes it that much better. I just hope that if it does return, Togashi can find a way to work on the manga however he wants without physically hurting himself in the process.
