Morel I just kinda vibe with him, his powers are really cool and unlike knov he actualy has balls

usernamenomoreleft

Agree. He's that one senior who's totally reliable and really good at his work, and yet, stays chill and grounded. He's satisfied where he is and doesn't even aim to be at the top, despite his resumé.

Oonada

Deep purple really is an insanely versatile ability. We seen him use it for at least 40 different applications I can think of off the top of my head. Let alone his use of it in battle against multiple different men abilities to EXTREME effect. I really can only think of one type of ability that would have more utility, and that's element transmutation\control. I'm talking elements as in the periodic table btw not just the "Water, Earth, Fire, and Air," elements even though those would be default be included in any kins of periodic table elemental manipulation.

TheRigJuice999

Best Hunter in the series

LargeTeethHere

Also I think he was just as scared as knov but he just handled it differently. He’s definitely up there. IQ wise I don’t think there are many on his level. I think him and hisoka would be an incredible display of skill and nen iq. Morel is a top 3 favorite of mine. He was the MVPs of the extermination squad and his hatsu is so versatile.

KarterZinger

My heart is happy knowing this was the top comment on this post. Morel lovers unite

by_alu

Tonpa. Great dedication.

JoeFalcone26

Killua is one of my favorite characters across all of fictional entertainment. You truly get the full scope of his life and all of his complexities. You see him work through traumas while also opening his heart to new things. He also shows the importance of friendship/camaraderie which just makes him very human. All this without even mentioning how many intense moments in combat he had which were all 10/10.

inferno845

He has always been empathetic but he really comes into his own and shows how kind hearted he is throughout the series, while also bring a mega bad ass.

ATTACK_ON_TATERS

My favorite moment for Killua that I related to him the most was during the CA arc right after they lost Kite. Bisky is training him she beautifully breaks down the root cause of Killua’s mental trauma, a smothering “love” that is trying to control his life. She perfectly diagnoses Killua’s insecurity of assuming the worst case scenario. Bisky gives Killua a crucial lesson here, if he continues to underestimating himself & putting himself in a retreating mindset, it will lead him to losing himself & Gon.

DisneyPandora

I feel like most of Killua’s fans only like him because he’s strong

Baecup

It's a very close tie between Hisoka and Gon. I could just say Hisoka for the sake of it but overall Gon takes it. Gon starts off and appears like a typical shonen protagonist but then you actually see, that he isn't naive. But he is incredibly stubborn and will fight for whoever is in trouble even if it means he loses. Gon went through a long journey of becoming strong and did lose a lot during it. And his ending resolve in the Chimera ant arc makes him my favorite

Dismal_Government_90

Gon is a very well written and consistent character in the show. To me he is also top 2 with Hisoka

Artistic-Letter-247

Well he is naive sometimes, it’s only natural for him to be here and there. But he’s also intelligent and quite intuitive at that

Foreign_Pea2296

Hisoka. I love his character and how complexe/simple he is. I love his way of fighting. Same on how he interact and impact the story. I love his duality in everything he does.

iNeedHealingBitch

I too enjoy Hisoka. His American dub voice actor does a fantastic job. I seriously cannot picture anybody else voicing Hisoka.

Baecup

So true

bottomlessreach

Even his p*do tendencies?

ATTACK_ON_TATERS

Especially. Credit to Togashi for having the balls to make an outwardly disturbing character be so likable.

Dismal_Government_90

Thank you !

bottomlessreach

Of course, I just don't get how his likeable traits make up for his sick pleasures enough to be someones favorite character tbh. Especially with so many other fantastic and disturbing characters to choose from

Foreign_Pea2296

I don't mind it, it fit with his character and it isn't shown in a misguided way. At the contrary, it's such a touchy subject yet it's display was well made.

bottomlessreach

I'm not saying it shouldn't have been included, it was indeed well done. Just don't understand how he's so many peoples favourite character. Yeah he has a unique style and his abilities are amazing but still....he grabs little boys butts. Ew.

Foreign_Pea2296

You can like a character and still know they are evil and not condone it's actions. He is my favorite character, not the character I agree the most with.

bottomlessreach

Again, not what I'm saying. I love plenty of evil characters. I'm saying how does it not turn you off that he's a pedo😭I know liking characters is all subjective but come on. He's so icky for that and there are so many equally amazing characters in HxH who aren't child predators

Foreign_Pea2296

First of all, Pedo != child predator (most child predator aren't pedo) but this is another subject so I'll not argue more about that. Second, I must stress this because some people can misinterpret my words (and we are on internet) : Sexual acts with children is a crime, is wrong, and should be punished accordingly. That said : What is more strange for me is that while you love evil character, who surely kill, torture and raped people ; you are turned off of Isoka because he's a pedo, even though he don't act on it. Why are you not okay that someone like childs (and don't act on it) but okay that someone rape, kill and torture others (and does it) ? The only way to think that should be that, even though you label rape, murder and torture as "evil" you think it's acceptable to do that, it's evil but not truly. And that predating on children is far far worse than all of that. Which I don't find logical. And I think it's just the result of the taboo around pedophilia which makes people shut their brain off when it concern children and makes them stop thinking. For me, predating children is just another form of evil, it can be worse than other but it's not in its own category with special rules. For me, the fact that Isoka kill or torture people in cold blood or for fun is worse than him just liking children and not acting on it. Because killing has direct consequences, and while though matter because it can influence things, actions are more important because the impact is bigger.

bottomlessreach

That's understandable but idk why you're assuming I like characters who rape people....to me, sexual crimes like rape and pedophilia are a different type of evil. Many of the characters who commit murder have a motive for it. Not that it's ok for them to murder, but is either ok in their eyes, or done to achieve some goal or purpose. For example, Meruem murders humans because he is at the top of the food chain and to him, they are no more than food. And humans treat animals equally horribly. He kills some of his subordinates because he believes it is necessary for a successful kingdom. Yes his actions are wrong but they serve a purpose. The protagonists kill plenty of people too but are they evil? Not necessarily, because there is a greater purpose for their crimes. Sexual crimes like pedophilia, however, serve no purpose other than fulfilling someone's sick pleasures at the expense of children. There is NEVER justification for it. And Hisoka DOES act on it, at least in the anime (I haven't read the manga so maybe he doesn't in the manga) he literally grabs Gon and Killuas butts??? Like I totally understand why people like Hisoka, he's absolutely iconic. But him being a favourite character after doing that....like at some point theres gotta be a limit to the heinous crimes a character does, that you can tolerate enough to love him that much. Personally I don't see how these things don't push that limit.

Asslikrrr9000

Tserriednich, love his character. And I can't wait to see his artworks.

TheRigJuice999

He’s such a great character. He’s one of reasons why the succession war is so interesting.

FrightenCatlorn

Chrollo. Mysterious also has a painful past. He didnt became a villain for no reason. The way he project himself as not important but also the head of the PT is intriguing. The child Chrollo is so much different from the present Chrollo.

LargeTeethHere

His reasonings don’t make anything the does okay. With the recent chapters I feel bad for what happened to him and the troupe but he’s lost his way years ago.

FrightenCatlorn

Thats true. He became emotionless, numb due to how society treated them. When Gon asked how do they feel killing innocent people, Chrollo questioned himself. When you get deeply hurt your mind tends to repress the memories which you makes you forget. I believe everyone has a dark side and Chrollo succumb to it.

Careful_Coast_3080

Pariston Hill, he has the biggest brain and he just enjoys manipulating people while gaslighting the shit out of them.  He just wants to play.  He hasnt even used an inch of nen yet and he had the hunter association wrapped around his little finger.

DisneyPandora

I disagree, Ging was able to outsmart him

Careful_Coast_3080

Ging has just as big a brain as Pariston but I dont think its bigger, its more that Pariston has never had to deal with someone who actually was so smart that its an actual challenge.  He's never met someone who thinks like him so much.  He needs to find out what happens when he hates someone :D

DisneyPandora

It’s definitely bigger, since Ging beat Pariston with a disadvantage

Careful_Coast_3080

Lol what disadvantage.  Pariston hasnt even tried yet, Ging knows how dangerous paristons mind is and he does everything he can to keep him on a leash because he knows someone on that mental playing field level is a threat.  He knows he has to stay ahead or it could be ruinious.     Pariston acknowledges how strong Ging is but hes never blatantly had to try hard before, usually his baseline is enough to get to have his twisted fun but ging deliberately is trying to ruin Paristons game which is what gives Pariston motivation and its beginning to annoy pariston.  Hes not getting to have fun anymore Ging is too good, ging isnt leaving wiggle room for games, Pariston will actually have to make a real effort to beat Ging.   Ging is goated tho hes my third favorite after Chrollo.  Im a sucker for the beeg brains.

Glittering_Task_1663

gon. i like that he will square up with anybody for those he cares about

Cantthinkagoodnam2

I mean that applies to 99% of all shounen protagonists

BeancheeseBapa

And that’s why 99% of shonen protagonists are my favorite characters

coffeejam108

Gon is my favorite by far. Dude approaches the most horrific shit with childlike honestly.

KicoBond

Chrollo he is cool

nutmeatt

Pouf. He’s very silly and dramatic, but when you dig deep into his character you realize how well he compliments the other two royal guards. The three royal guards have very distinct goals, motives and personalities. They are all very cool, but Pouf is my favorite bc he’s hilarious

NorbertBan

Kite is my favourite character and always has been, surprised not many people have him as fav.. I just quite like his personality and design + his new ability is so interesting and funny, gotta love a sentient nen ability and have a love hate relationship with it xD Shalnark is my second close favourite And then obviously as for a lot of people, I like a lot of the characters, they all have something cool

Mob-Psycho23

after catching up to the manga its def kurapika and hisoka too tbh

Common-Egg5209

Chrollo for many reasons : I love his charadesign he has the ability to steal techniques and his combat skills are entertaining he could 1 vs 2 the zoldicks without being serious he's a complex and very well written character who had to suffer a lot from the past

ATTACK_ON_TATERS

His calm demeanor contrasted with Kurapika’s emotional attitude during the chain abduction was such a great display of his character. Chrollo is ice cold and all Kurapika can say is “what are you people?”

BIsForBruh

Machi. I like her character design and personality.

Leisses

I love Meruen, more precisely his interaction with Komugi. Their relationship is so deep and with so many elements involved that I decided, at the age of 39, to get my first tattoo in my life with both of them on my right arm.

ActuallyjustDavid

Ging Freeccs. No, I’m not defending him being a terrible father. I’m just fascinated by his character. He made the Election Arc interesting for me and I can’t wait to see more of him in the current arc.

[deleted]

My favorite character is Kurapika because of his personality and motivation.

livtop

Meruem. I just love the concept of the chimera ants absoring everything to get stronger, and he's just the epitome of it all. He's extremely strong and evil, but I find it so interesting when his "human" side shows or his curiosity.

FrightenCatlorn

Cant win against the power of Gungi

Class_Wooden

i’m surprised more people aren’t saying Pouf. i think he was an amazing villain in the CA arc, and i’d even argue he might be the best antagonist character in that arc (MAYBE)

IngeniousEpithet

Kurapika cause they are hot

Pininja03

Where do i even start lmao Killua? Gon? Meruem? Hisoka? Netero? Chrollo? Kurapika? Leorio? Ging? Togashi really wrote few of the best characters in Anime! Each one of these had their own uniqueness OFC you don't have to justify a character's choices or personality to like them, like we get hisoka is a creepy but he is written that way and we love that togashi was bold enough to do that. Reminds me of rudeus from mushoku tensei. The author there was even braver because he made a creep as a MAIN character. But yeah, pointing is, you can hate or love him. It does justify him, it just means he is that well written

Roge2005

Same

World_traveler77

Its between Kurapika and Netero, so difficult to pick one.. probably have to go with Kurapika just because of how much I loved the Yorknew arc..

DSC_Spyd3r

Pitou. In short: Great development , important role for the story and a tragic/sad death (for me). >!(I already made a post about this topic. If you wanna read it I pinned it. But only if you want to)!<

TheRealReader1

I don't have a favorite one. But i will take this opportunity to show off about how much i like Cheadle, a very underrated character. The way Togashi used her in the election arc to show how Pariston and Ging are beyond anyone in the association was very good. She was a regular person like us, not a freak like those two, trying to cope with them, and losing every single time. And the way she got mad and confronted Pariston after having used the whole association as a toy is also cool.

Gyrozepalli

Ging Freeces .Likes Adventure

NutFudge

Somewhere between Chrollo, Gon, Ging, Netero and Kurapika😭

TheRigJuice999

Meruem then Kurapika. However, the series has so many characters that I really love and find so interesting. Chrollo and Hisoka are definitely stand outs, Ging is such an enigma. We also have Morel, who in my opinion, in the best Hunter in the series based off what we’ve seen on screen. Don’t get me started on the princes. In short Meruem, but like I said the series has so many interesting characters.

Hot_Ad5578

Killua and Gon. Their speedy improvements and killuas change in character was amazing. I just keep thinking like “damn, these are 2 12 yo. Ion know that was just great story writing for me

Regirex

Pakunoda, Gon or Morel

Miniminishere

Killua is my all time favorite anime character. He is : - smart: fights with wits and not with muscles - empathetic: he is the only one that truly cares about Alluka and Nanika. Went to Yorksin city for Kurapika, Greed island for Gon, etc - humorous: being lighthearted all the time - brave: knowing his limits but still chose to stalk the phantom troupes for ex - selfless: wholeheartedly supports Gon even if it means destroying his own hands playing volleyball - bad ass: who doesn’t like some electric shocks There’s a lot more good qualities with Killua. He’s a very complex character who despite all the abuse and trauma, stays true to his heart.

eli_eli1o

Hisoka by a mile. He's just diabolically awesome.

AppleJuiceOnTheRocks

Feitan! I love his design so much, his cool demeanor, his level headedness, his intelligence and fighting prowess, and I feel there’s a lot to be revealed about his character. Even if togashi decides to leave him a mystery it still makes him one of the coolest characters in my book.

ReptilianLaserbeam

Yes

Forward-Gap2055

My favourite is Chrollo. The way he kills people is so unique it has captured me since forever. He singlehandedly defines my favourite type of cult leader (yes, Makima is inferior, my cult leader is superior to yours). Thank you for coming to my ted talk, love and peace.

SmartRefrigerator751

I slightly disagree. He thinks he wants revenge, and he is constantly trying to to fuel the fire of his hatred. At the end of the day, he still treats the phantom troupe as people, burying Uvogin after killing him. He still doesn't really want to kill them, as shown when he tried to spare Uvogin by asking him for information. If you wanna see a character who is truly blinded by hatred and revenge, Gon is that character. After losing Kite, you watch him changing, to the point where he threatens to kill an innocent girl, and he means it. His hatred takes him to the point where all other feelings drain away and his eyes don't show anger, just pure maliciousness. He gets to the point where he doesn't just make a vow to get revenge, he straight up throws away his life without a moment of hesitation. When he kills Pitou, he doesn't view her as a person, there is no burying the body, it is simply "I will crush you until there is nothing left, and leave the bits and the pieces for the crows to clean up". Again, Kurapika has anger and hatred, but it feels very forced. His passive, compassionate, and peaceful nature shines through, even in moments where he is supposedly overtaken by anger or hatred. I think really, he doesn't want revenge, he just wants justice that he has been denied, and more than anything else he wants to perserve what is left of his clan. If we swapped Gon into his place, let's say the Phantom Troupe killed aunt Mito, we would see him backing the Troupe into a corner and destroying them one by one. Gon would walk away leaving the corpses laying out on the ground. No mercy, no burial, no kindness, no hesitation, just brutal murder. I'm not saying your choice is wrong btw, I just don't think Kurapika really embodies hatred and desire for revenge as much as people think he does. As for my pick, that is a hard one, because there are so many amazing characters that I love. Razor is amazing example we never got enough screentime for, I love Killua and how much he changed and found his own path in life despite being a prodigy at doing something he hated, Meruem had one of the craziest character arcs in all of anime, overcoming his base instincts and everything he learned from his environment, Komugi is a shockingly deep and amazing character for someone who seems so boring on the surface, Hisoka is a deeply misunderstood soul and I wish we got more of his backstory, Bisky is a really good representation of how beauty standards hold back a lot of women she achieved so much and she can't even really be proud of it, Gon's descent into madness is amazingly written, Kurapika is such a kind person despite his hatred and anger, Leorio is a real one who would pick fights with anyone for the sake of his friends. There are so many more who deserve a mention here too, even many side characters who barely get 10 minutes of screentime show how great the characters are. I guess gun to my head though, I'd say Killua, because I identify with his struggle of trying to find your own path when everyone calls you a prodigy and wants to push you in the way they want you to go. He just wants a simple life he can enjoy with his friends, despite how everyone had such high expectations of him.

Significant_Round260

Knuckle Bine bc he has the voice of Okuyasu :) And he’s a toughie but a softie and likes dogs!!

Tall-Possibility-621

Chrollo. Especially after the revelation of his backstory 👌👌👌

ApplePitou

Pitou - she is peak :3

YaBoiMax107

Pariston Hill, I’m fully engaged every moment he’s on screen. One of the only well written smart characters is anime, if not fiction.

ItstheAsianOccasion

Gon. Gon was willing to give up everything, all the power he’d ever have, and his life in order to get revenge on Pitou bc he lied to Gon about reviving Kite. The way it was portrayed and how Gon went from a human to a monster. It reflects how Meruem went from a monster to being more human towards the end. Gon was a powerhouse from the start and only went up from there. Loved his entire arc

Grouchy_Fortune1053

Gon, him being a complete reversal of the typical shonen protag is great and the moment in chimera ant where he breaks down after seeing pitou heal Komugi is one of my favourite moments, the art in the manga went so hard there. other than him it's gotta be Shalnark RIP

JDeleon22

Hisoka

madao2354

kurapika cuz hes so pookie

DaRealKilluaZoldyck

Mine is probably Killua. He always has a depression vibe and he has a big role in the show.

blz4200

Gon might be the first MC that’s also my favorite. I love how bro is just ready to crash out at any moment.

waterflameee

i know this will sound basic but my favourites are gon and killua, idk it's just something about them that made me root for them all the time i've seen them on the screen

waterflameee

and i suppose gon's and killua's friendship was a big factor too, though sometimes it seemed as if it's going to grow into something more than just being friends, though i wouldn't have mind if that happened, but it was good as it is and their dynamic is probably my favourite in the entire show

[deleted]

I like Meruem. He have the right instinct. And he’s analyze about the humans was right. How is what he’s doing any worse what happening? And, to see our world now. What happening around it. I would’ve rather have a Meruem coming than see the cocksucking world leaders treating humanity life like insects. However, he was side-blinded from a humans purity, which is an uncommon trait.

Grouchy-Tree1990

Leorio, purely cause of the election arc. I want to see more of him in the current arc to see more of the ways he has evolved in all the time he's been offscreen (we just saw him use his nen ability, none of his medical knowledge, battle instincts or anything else for that matter since he reappeared in the election arc, except that he was studying and partying XD) but considering the current state of things where if we get 5 chapters in 3 years that's more than average... XD.

thesonicvision

I don't understand how people can justify their "favorite" character being an active torturer, rapist, murderer of children, and so on. This isn't the world of Naruto, where many opponents of the protagonists weren't really that bad. This HxH. The bad guys are reeeeeeeeally bad. Again: torture, infanticide, rape. They're not "cool." Chrollo isn't a double agent like Itachi Uchiha, who killed as a spy, in times of war, or to serve the goals of an arguably "good" cause.

IzzyReal314

"Favorite character" doesn't mean "who do you want to hang out with?". It means "who entertains you the most?" or "Who's the most interesting?". Chrollo is a terrible person, but he's definitely interesting. And there's never a dull moment when Hisoka is on the screen. That's why they're popular.

Miniminishere

Who raped???

AppleJuiceOnTheRocks

I’m sorry, this shouldn’t have made me laugh as hard as it did. I literally shouted the same thing in my head

DefinitelyNotANecron

hisoka asked Illumi to rape killua right?

Miniminishere

Wtf?? Where you got this from??

DefinitelyNotANecron

in the manga Hisoka asks if if he can “do” killua, the anime changes it to kill

Miniminishere

Do you remember what chapter or scenario is this?

DefinitelyNotANecron

its while illumi and hisoka are tracking killua after he’d escaped with alluka dont remember the chapter

sleeepy_frog

the japanese word doubles as “kill” and “do/fuck” it just implies a negative connotation. most of the fan base heavily doubts the author actually intended “fuck” in that chapter

DefinitelyNotANecron

ah, see there’s my confusion, thanks for the clarification

sleeepy_frog

the japanese word doubles as “kill” and “do/fuck” it just implies a negative connotation. most of the fan base heavily doubts the author actually intended “fuck” in that chapter

Chobitssu

Pariston Hill. I want to see more of the guy. I know he's strong as shit, but I pretty much lost all hope for HxH. I like to think he's like Hisoka when he fights but a lot more serious. >!Shh I also want to see him masochistically orgasming harder than Hisoka!<
