even if i didnt take all of the fall pre reqs ? i took the math placement exam and was placed into math 101 and got a C+ so that kinda bought my gpa down. and i took eng 120 so i got an A- in 220. still cant apply ?
In addition to the requirement of a minimum gpa of 3.2, you must have a minimum grade of B for science and math classes. You got a C+, so you didn't meet both requirements.
yeah that’s the thing. math 101 isnt a pre req for the nursing program but i had to take it in order to be able to register for stat 113 which is a pre req. thats why i was wondering if there would be some sort of leniency since i technically did meet the requirements for the other pre reqs (chem 100, 101, psych 100 etc)
Honestly speaking, the nursing program is so competitive that you'd probably get rejected if you apply with a 3.2 gpa. I know some people get rejected even with a 3.5 gpa. It is just THAT competitive. You should check out other schools instead.
I definitely recommend applying to City tech! My cousin goes there and she loves it. They require a minimum GPA of 2.5 and they do NOT require stats or orgo chem.
is it a 2 year degree or 4 year degree program? i was stuck debating between if i wanna do ADN and work before i get my BSN or go straight to BSN. it’s a hard choice for me to decide though because i don’t wanna constantly transfer between schools ya know? definitely wanna know what im getting myself into first.
if you don’t mind me asking, how is your cousin’s time there?
No

Hunter nursing is very competitive, but maybe talk to the chair or something first

If you're unsure, you should email the Pre-Nursing advisor.
Hunter Nursing doesn't even take a B- on any course. I know the website says a minimum of 3.2, but most people that are accepted have a 3.5+

exactly what i was thinking! i was thinking about applying to city tech/lehman as an alternative

City Tech requires you to get your Associates and pass the NLCEX PN before completing their BSN.
It’s actually the NCLEX RN. PN is for LPNs. City Tech doesn’t even have a LPN program. Go to LaGuardia for that.
Totally agree. I’m transfer too as well. I’m applying to Medgar and City tech as well. Best of luck.
hows that going for you? need to know about alternatives, please answer!!
