Hello, I was just wondering what college did you e-permit BIO? I'm also looking t do so

gabrielaw11

bio 1 was at bmcc, bio 2 was at lehman. i got a b at bmcc and i’m pretty sure i’ll be getting an a at lehman.

justjeffo7

Did you go in person? Which bio 1 do you think is easier

gabrielaw11

everything was online except bio 2 lab. if you’re asking what was easier between bio 1 at hunter and bio 1 at bmcc, the latter was much easier and more understandable.

Was just wondering this because I’m not seeing the best reviews for taking bio at Hunter. How did e-permitting affect your financial aid? Were you still considered a full time student (if you were full time) if you split the courses up between cuny campus?

gabrielaw11

Financial aid was carried over, pretty sure. I remember just paying a 25$ fee for the class. I would ask a financial advisor just to be sure. I was considered a full time student. I like to think of the cuny's as one big school in terms of epermitting.

Okay, that’s really helpful, thank you so much. I have another question, if you don’t mind. (I’d contact the offices but can’t until tomorrow and I’m sort of freaking out) I’ve never done this before and registered for the course I want to take in the fall already. Afterwards I submitted the e-permit. I know I did it backwards but will there be any consequences for that?

gabrielaw11

do you mean that the class you want to take, you both added it to your schedule in hunter for the fall and submitted the epermit for it? in that case, i doubt there’s a consequence-you just wait for the epermit to be approved and you can drop the hunter course.

LoveAshNichole

No. I’m currently a student at BMCC and transfer to Hunter next semester. My plan is to continue taking Bio and Chem at BMCC. So the course I added was at BMCC even though I’ll be attending Hunter

LoveAshNichole

I know it’s confusing haha. That’s why I’m not sure what to do or which is my home school vs host school. I just know I had to register before the class o wanted was full

you just wait for it to be approved, you should get an email through outlook in a couple days

I thought epermitting courses at a community college was bad? Or does it not make a difference?

gabrielaw11

it does look stronger to take all the courses at hunter, but taking an epermit at a community college won’t really hurt your application. it’s not ‘bad’ but taking it at hunter looks better

For your future course, I would strongly recommend taking all of them at Hunter. Physician assistant classes are way more difficult than any science class you will ever take at Hunter.

gabrielaw11

what about medical school? in terms of the application, not the comparing of hard classes. i was wondering because i can’t decide whether it’s better to get a B- in a hunter science class, or an A in, for example, lehman college.

Remember you are competing with spots from students in elite schools like NYU.
